I have really enjoyed all my experiences at the IU Auditorium. I have been there many times over the years and the structure is great. All areas of the audience have a good view of the stage and the acoustics are excellent. It just feels grand and traditional, but with a college town vibe a ND coziness.

Very nice auditorium. We drove from central Ohio to see Ray Lamontagne. I would deffinatly drive to watch another concert/musician there. Very easy to park and the concession prices were very good compared to arenas ive been to. This place has some very awesome acoustics. My advice would be to get seats in the center of the auditorium. Great sound.

Right now the Auditorium lobby is serving as a COVID testing site. While this use likely was not a part of the original plan for the building, it works quite well and it was good to be inside the building if only for a brief time

I brought my four year old (questioned this decision but really felt the experience could stick with her over time) to hear Mae Jemison speak and, well, she struggled walking to the event but we made it and then of course she fell asleep but really that was in my favor. I was blown away by her speech and so grateful to hear about the amazing accomplishments shes made. Id never been near an astronaut and now Ill just crave more knowledge from more of them if they can speak and inform as Dr. Jemison did. Pictured is my daughter, who posted perfectly before things started 😍.

Very beautiful venue, a historic, extremely well-kept building on the beautiful campus of Indiana. From the beautiful floors, up to the murals on the walls and ceilings, it is truly a hidden gem in Bloomington. The part that really makes this venue special is the people. Whenever I attend a show at the IU Auditorium, I know that I am going to be treated like family. Always expect a warm welcome and an enjoyable evening! I would highly recommend attending an event at the IU Auditorium!

The staff was so accommodating. Im in a wheelchair and this isnt the most accessible but the staff did their best working around it. The facility itself is beautiful. Also, there is a free shuttle that runs from a couple of the garages since you cant really park that close. Check their website for more info on that.

Staff was friendly. Auditorium was beautiful, clean, and had great acoustics. Only problem for me was Google Maps and navigating here, it wants you to drive down a street that is not actually a street but a sidewalk. Not a big deal when youre getting dropped off like I was but it would be a hassle if you were driving. Id still consider this venue again though!

Non stop laughs! Was a great show! Did show tickets and ask to be shown to seats. Had to move to other side due to being seated in the wrong area. Lights went out on the way. Was seated in correct seats, but one seat was full of beer due to person seated next to us spilling it, cup was broken. No apologies from that seat. Never told attendant, so busy at that moment. Person who was with me took care of it best as could. Only found out we were in wrong seats once correct owners were trying to be seated. The show was fantastic and all hosts were polite. Just needed better training for seating. Arrived 40 minutes early.

Great show seeing Bob Dylan. Not great watching my 60 yr old father run back to our car to leave my moms bag that was too big to then later see many backpacks of equal size inside. Get your act together with security there and also make sure ticket companies know your policies. I only gave two stars instead of one for the usher that was able to get a guy in the audience to stop smoking cigarettes mid concert so we could breathe.

This is such a great little theatre. We often visit during the fall cinema series. It is intimate and there is often a question/answer session with the film maker or director. We enjoy bringing our children to see old black and white classics and/or silent films.

Inside the venue itself was nice but everything else was a nightmare. The parking was terrible. We needed handicapped parking and once we did find one suitable for out needs we had a 10 minute walk to the venue. The outside of the building was very dimly lit making me somewhat nervous for our safety while walking. There were still large spots covered with ice where we had to walk that had not been treated.

Beautiful auditorium built of locally sourced limestone. I’ve seen art exhibits, listened to world class speakers and leaders, and have seen some of the finest performers and musicians of all genres in this venue. Always a memorable event. Located in the heart of Indiana University Bloomington, it’s been a hub of culture for nearly 80 years. A must see when in B-Town!

Comfortable, mid-size venue for seeing various productions. My only complaint is that acoustics make make it difficult to hear solos against a full orchestra, especially for those artists with relatively weaker voices or those at extremely high ranges (sopranos and first tenors).

This is a very nice auditorium. Ive seen many shows in my life in auditoriums and theaters. This one is a good experience. I did take off one star because concession and services are student run which causes some lack of professionalism. Ive seen concerts and plays here- the experience is wonderful. Ive never sat in the back or balcony but the design of the auditorium seems like it would be a good experience.

The auditorium brings in a wide variety of shows from live music to plays and even movies. Two events -- the Dennis James silent movie for Halloween and the Chimes of Christmas -- are the ones we see most often but we usually attend 2-3 other shows every year. You do not want to be too far back on the second floor, the balcony is pointless for anything more than music or a movie frankly. Tickets, while expensive, sell out fast so do think ahead; if you do an annual subscription you can save money but only if you plan to do several shows a year. The history of the place is quite interesting so arrive early so you can explore. Inside youll find some of the original pipes for music and outside youll see a lot of works of art from Indiana artists. The famous Benton murals showing Indiana history are also in outside of the auditorium proper but you can see those at any time when there isnt a show you need tickets for.
