I really enjoy living here. The staff (especially Diana and the maintenance crew) are very helpful and friendly. They do their best to fix any issues and offer reasonable solutions to any concerns that may come up. The property is well kept as well. The noise level is minimal as well. I took one star away because paying rent online comes with a fee which is ridiculous especially when you are out of town and unable to walk a physical check into the office. Outside of that, this is still a great place to be.

Be wary, if you apply for a unit at this property the cost of an application is $250 & the security deposit is $300, both of which are NON refundable if you choose to opt out of signing your lease (a total of $550 lost). I have never heard of a policy like this before! Management does not mention this prior to applying. It was a very bad experience overall, & I would not recommend.

We lived at The Preserve since it was first built, and have loved living here. The entire staff - management, maintenance, cleaning - they’ve all been so friendly and wonderful to work with. The building itself is very modern and well maintained with great amenities. The location is really convenient, is walking distance from Normandale Lake, which was perfect for us as dog owners, and walking distance from a bus stop that takes you downtown, if you work in Minneapolis. Couldn’t have asked for more!

Diana at the leasing office is AMAZING!!! She really listened to what I was looking for & desired in a unit. Unfortunately, the unit I fell in love with was taken before I could apply. So quick advice, if you love it just apply before you even leave the building. The experience of working with Diana has me keeping an eye out for another opening at this location. It’s one thing to find a great apartment, but you really win when the leasing staff is also great. Thank you again Diana!

I absolutely LOVE living here. I moved to The Preserve just 7 months ago and couldnt be happier. My unit is so beautiful and I wake up every morning thinking, I cant believe this is my apartment. Despite the challenges COVID has brought over the last few months, the office staff has done a great job at finding ways for us to be able to use the amenities in a safe and healthy way. I love the secure storage lockers where our packages are delivered and the fact that we get a text message when they arrive. I love the pool in the summer, the Zen Garden and how friendly everyone is. But nothing is better than going downstairs to the coffee machine and filling my multiple cups of coffee all day. I never knew how much Id appreciate not having to make my own!I feel so safe living here and am so grateful to live in such a wonderful community.

I have been at the Preserve now going on one year. I have enjoyed the easy access to all the major highways, and restaurants. The management such as Abby, Diana, Miranda and the Maintence staff really do a nice job taking care of the fine details. Everyone is always friendly, and very professional. I also like the rooms spacious, quiet, and very peaceful atmosphere. Great overall customer service cannot think of better place to live!

We were living in another property that the company took over as an investment and the living situation became unbearable and frightening because of the city it was located in. We asked if there was any way to move to The Preserve and they were grateful enough for us to make the move saving us a lot of stress. We are very thankful. Very nice building, amenities and location. Tucked away far enough but close enough to all the major highways. Oh, and Fiber internet that you can install on your own right away, big plus!

Exceptional. Ive lived here since they first opened and from the tour of the apartments, to moving in, and living here for almost three years- it has been nothing short of exceptional. I will often times enter our apartment returning from some place and say to my spouse how glad I am to have picked this place. Long story short, my renting experience until The Preserve has been fraught with angst and frustration. However, the management team at the Preserve is the most pleasant, sympathetic, communicative, and most importantly, competent and professional team Ive ever seen. (Shout out to Abbie and Diana!) Ive never had an issue that felt unheard or unresolved. It was always responded to and resolved, and I was notified that they received my concern, if it cannot be addressed immediately. Furthermore, theyve been most responsive with the novel situation 2020 has presented to us. I was so touched and most impressed when they suggested that they can send a video to guide us through a quick and easy maintenance fix that needed to be made in the apartment when we mentioned how uncomfortable we were to have someone outside of our household in our apartment. THEY WILL WORK WITH YOU. This is so refreshing when youve been renting for a long time. The apartment is clean and lovely (it was brand new when I moved in), amenities are great, and I really enjoy the community that they have created here. The residents are respectful and courteous. The wonderful lakes and parks around the area are so beautiful. It really was a treat to have a walk around Normandale Lake with the lock downs. The location is amazing - youre only a short drive to groceries, shopping, and restaurants in Edina and MOA, but also so close to Minneapolis if you enjoy dining out or take out (as much as you can at the moment!) Also, its one of the most dog-friendly buildings Ive seen which was one of wants on our list because were planning to get a dog. I intend to stay here until I purchase a permanent home. I cant recommend this place enough.

My friend has lived here for a little over a year, and I visit regularly. If its in your price range, I think this place is excellent. The amenities are outstanding. I particularly adore the zen garden and party room. The studio apartments offer separation for the bedroom, which makes it feel less like a studio. One caveat that may be an upside/downside depending on your view is the necessity of your key fob to get into AND out of nearly every public space, going both ways. It makes for a highly secure building, but can get annoying.

The entire staff here has been great and easy to work with. The amenities are fantastic for the price point and you cannot find a more convenient location for those who love to enjoy the city life but dont love the traffic issues of downtown or uptown. You wont be disappointed in your decision to move here!

The Preserve at Normandale Lake has been a great first home after our move to Minnesota. We looked all over the city, and The Preserve offered the largest, cleanest, and newest three bedroom apartment. The finishes were so nice, exactly what I would have selected if I was designing my own home! The heated parking garage and apartment amenities have made life so easy year round. My favorite part of living here is the quick walk to Normandale Lake. Excellent for kids, dogs, and entertaining. The staff is responsive and friendly - everyone from management to cleaning staff. Highly recommend living here.

The Preserve has been an amazing place to live. This is largely due to their very kind, considerate and fun management, and staff. The people who reside here are all great which helps add to the amazing community. Diana helped us with our application process and was awesome with answering any questions that we had. Its been four months here now and she still remembers our names and our dogs, pretty incredible! I would highly recommend The Preserve at Normandale Lake to anyone that is looking for a place to rent.

I just moved in here about a month ago and am so glad I did. This place is great, the amenities are great, the staff is great, the location is great, the underground parking is great and my apartment is great. Ive had numerous complements from my guests who have visited. I use the various amenities frequently. Everything is kept up very well.I toured a several other apartments before deciding on the Preserve and this place beat them in every category in this price range.

We are in transition from a house to maintenance free living and absolutely love this place. The staff and management is friendly, fun, approachable, and very responsive. The units are fresh and spacious with walk in closets, storage, and fabulous floor to ceiling windows for lots of natural light. The residents are very courteous and friendly. The common areas are very classy and comfortable with clean lines and a great space for plugging in and getting some work done or hanging out. The apartments are very new and although they are filling up, its still very peaceful due to the heavy construction of the units and the respectful residents who are also interested in keeping the place peaceful and quiet.Nicely done Preserve @ Normandale Lakes! And yes, we will be watching the fireworks from our balcony tonight!

The management and staff are really nice and cooperative! Our neighbors are quiet lol. Th amenities are always clean. Overall, great place to live and family friendly. However, I do have to warn there are a lot of dogs here, which is fine but with kids it may get scary since some people don’t follow the “always on a leash” policy. However, the management are good at trying to regulate that.

Lived here for a little over a year.Pros:-Staff was amazing, they went above and beyond in every aspect. They were a huge value-add.-Gym was decent for an apartment. They had a separate studio and weight/cardio room. Equipment was in great shape.-Location is great. 15 min from downtown 20 min to St. Paul-heated parking, large garage stalls. Dog wash station. Car vacuum-Maintenance was amazing. Same day fixes, super nice. Was locked out of my apartment due to the electric door locks one night and they had it fixed within an hourCons:-Walls are extremely thin for a brand new building. Could hear neighbors kids constantly. Doors/cupboards slamming. Yelling-No noise isolation from hallway, you could hear conversations word for word as people are walking down the hall.-Pool on the weekends was a joke. It was the same resident who invited his sister/relative (?) and husband who would invite 5+ friends and takeover half of the pool area. Either that or someone would host a kids birthday party. Guest policy was abused constantly. Noisy and overcrowded. Smoking in the pool as well.-Had the cops show up 3 times to the unit next door.-Finishes were very cheap. Look nice but cheap quality-Coffee machine only being open certain hours of the day was weird-Elevators are painfully slow. Only 2 for the entire complex and if one is being used for moving then youre really SOL.I just didnt think the value was there for how much you pay. A new building like this should not have near as many soundproofing problems as this one had. Ive lived in MartinBlu in EP and AMLI 900 in Chicago and had no issues with sound whatsoever. Both older buildings.

I’ve lived here for two years that ended at the end of December 2019, and the only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because the property manager and office staff are very friendly and compassionate. Aside from that, the apartment complex is not worth the price at all; I have a list of things that I was unhappy with (see below). I also felt like my privacy was invaded! Not once, but twice while I lived here! The first time was when I was off: I got to sleep into the later part of the morning, when my boyfriend woke up to the sound of a man opening the entry door unannounced. He couldn’t help but yell in frustration “what?!” Then the maintenance worker said, “sorry, wrong unit!” And closed the door and left. I reported this to the office in a formal letter, and they addressed it to the maintenance worker. They wrote back to me saying “it was an accident, and that he was meaning to go to the apartment above us.”Still, I have expectations that I should feel comfy in my home. I never requested for a work order. Not to mention there’s the apartment number next to the door—it’s not easy to miss, which is concerning. Second, if there was a work order, the maintenance worker should still have the courtesy to knock. The second time this happened was when I was getting ready to leave. I was getting dressed, then the maintenance worker knocked at the door yelling “maintenance!” I just kind of stood there, wondering, I never requested maintenance. It left me feeling worried and invaded upon, so I just said, “umm, I never requested it.” Then he just said, “oh sorry wrong unit, never mind!” Then walked away. From there on, I never wanted to request maintenance because it made me feel uncomfortable to have them around. As a resident paying a substantial amount of money every month, I would expect higher standards and better security in the complex, as well as more cognizant workers that are representing the company.Other concerns I have at this community are addressed:•Parking—limited guest parking that is not distinguished enough for guests to determine if it’s a guest spot or not. My parking space was continuously taken by a guest at night because it was directly across from guest parking. It was also hard seeing the numbers because they were always so dirty.•Garbages chutes—always backed up especially on weekends.•Coffee machine—doesn’t work/is out 50% of the time. It also says it’s open 6:00am-4:00pm 365 days a year. It’s not on when I’m about to leave for work at 6:00am.•Workout room—stair climber is too short/hit the ceiling for people that are too tall.•Main entry door—smells like wet dogs and urine constantly.•Security door for zen garden—no lock from the outside going inside the building, but has a lock going out to the garden (how does that make sense?).•Carts—never enough carts/can’t find any whenever you need it and are always filthy (I saw spit in one once! Yuck!).Personal Apartment Concerns•Poor quality shelves that break easily with less than 10 lbs of weight on them.•Toilet paper holder broke easily.•Low-quality hardware for towel holder.•HVAC filter—dumped on stove when replaced causing a giant mess and filth in the kitchen.•Washer/dryer—sides that are unreachable when you drop socks/clothing.I don’t want to be the first person to review this place negatively on Google Reviews, but I feel it it is necessary to to bring up these concerns for those who are seeking an honest review. I don’t know if others have had these issues, but I feel this review should be seen by future residents.Thank you for listening to my review, and I hope you have careful consideration in finding your next home.

The Preserve at Normandale Lake has been amazing so far! The move in process was very easy and quick. The office staff has been very attentive and their responses to questions have been swift. The maintenance staff has been very fast to deal with service requests. The building always smells good and is very clean. We love our apartment! We choose a floor plan with lots of windows so we get tons of natural sunlight. The location is amazing, the building and amenities are stunning and the staff is very nice. The value here is unbeatable. Especially when you consider an underground parking space is included in rent! Some of our favorite things are the free coffee in the upper lobby (although we wish the machine was operational longer throughout the day lol ;) the common area wifi - my partner is in grad school so its very nice for him to be able to use the wifi in the common areas to do homework, the safe, well lit parking garage and all the nature outside! I cant say enough positive things about this building!

The apartment building itself is beautiful! Very appealing and fresh. I would like to write a review on the leasing consultant Marriah! I had toured one other apartment in Woodbury right before coming to The Preserve. The difference in GREAT customer service and and average customer service was very evident between the two places! The initial phone call with Marriah when I initially scheduled the tour, was warm, welcoming, and enthusiastic! I could tell already I would love it there. She was more than happy to show me around! When I arrived to my appointment, Marriah was prepared, friendly, and personable (yet still professional!). My tour was thorough, informative, and fun. I loved the building, and the customer service! I could tell the leasing consultant truly loved her job. The ONLY reason I decided not to lease is because its a tad too far from where I work.

Marriah helped me through my search. Her reception was undoubtedly among some of the best service Ive ever had. I was in contact with over 15 complexes and toured several of them, but for the most part, my search was completely remote. Marriahs reception to my numerous inquiries may have very well been the factor that converted me into a tenant at the Preserve.I’ve been here for almost a month and have nothing but good things to say about the apartment building. Rooms are beautiful, clean, and quiet (so far).I am a consultant that specializes in business functions and styles of management and I cant help but feel the need to reiterate the quality of management I’ve experienced here. When the value of the product (the rooms) is relatively close when comparing to others in the area (which they are considering others are cheaper), the only variable left is the quality of administration. Marriah and team, I appreciate you guys haha.I believe in the purest form of meritocracy and the preserve deserves this. For those of you who are scouring the internet in order to gain some context, here’s what I have to offer:I have toured several places downtown and around the area, the Nic on fifth, 4Marq, Maverick, Latitude 45, 222 Hennepin, Variant, LPM, and Eitel. Unless you want to be in the downtown scene, I’d say 4Marq is probably worth it. If you have any other reason besides downtown preference, the Preserve is the top.Hope it helps. Don’t be loud when you decide to live here :).
