I have literally had dental care all over the world and in the US (over 30 cities), and I can thus say with surety that Cook Family Dentistry is the best overall care Ive experienced. In particular, PK is a phenomenal dental hygienist, and likewise, Dr. Thorn is a phenomenal dentist. Aside from their state-of-the-art and highly professional care, both have wonderful personalities that make visiting the dentist a joy. Its too bad they take such good care of my teeth, so I only get to visit with them a couple of times a year for cleanings and minor work :)

My 7yo daughter and I hadnt been for checkups in over a year due to the pandemic. There was a lot of cleaning to do! But, as always, no matter which hygienist or doctor we see, we were treated with compassionate, above-and-beyond care. Everyone is patient and kind, especially with my daughter who was nervous to take off her mask. To give you an idea of the kind of practice this is: When my daughter was an infant, I brought her to my first post-partum teeth cleaning. She woke and started to cry, and the staff joyfully jumped in to hold her and feed her a bottle. It was the same staff who held my hand when my anxiety brought me to tears during a simple cavity filling (after having awful experiences at dentists as a child). Everyone at Cook Family Dentistry is wonderful, and we have been happy patients for many years! My daughter actually looks forward to her cleanings, which says it all.

My teeth and I agree: I get the BEST dental care at Cook Dentistry. And yesterday’s experience continues in a long line of good experiences. I had to have a very tricky cavity filling, and Dr. Cook and her teammate Deanna did a magnificent job! I was very nervous, and they were very comforting and reassuring. I couldn’t have been in better hands. They followed the safety protocols exactly from beginning to end, and never missed a beat! Very impressive. I had a fantastic experience.

Nothing like going to the dentist during a pandemic, right? Dr. Cook and her team are taking every precaution and their system made me feel so much better about an office visit. I love PK! She does a great and careful job as a dental hygienist but it is her personable and caring interactions that I appreciate the most. Cook Family Dentistry is the right place to be for dental check-ups, night guards, and cleanings. They have a firm protocol in place during this pandemic. All patients are kept separate and the dentist changes her outfit regularly. I felt safe going in for my appointment.

Always a Pleasure may sound like an unlikely thing to say about a visit to the dentist, but for me it is true. The staff at Cook Family Dentistry are always professional, friendly and very approachable with questions or just to share a thought or two with. I always know my teeth will be cleaned and checked over carefully. I got my crown installed on Friday. I was in and out quickly, and received fantastic service.

Dr. Cook, hygienists, and staff are excellent. My crown came out over the weekend and they were able to fit me in that Monday and take care of it quickly even though it was a busy day. They are very caring and friendly - highly recommend.

For a person with high anxiety to go to dentist this is the best place to be. Their preparedness and prevention for Covid19 is very well done. There is social distancing so that you only come into contact with the persons that are working with you. As always, great dental care.

They were so kind and patient with me... I hadnt been to the dentist in 4 years (no insurance!) so despite overall good dental hygiene, there was a lot of tartar buildup. Thea was SO patient and diligent to gently get rid of it all and only mildly scolded me for waiting so long between visits. :) Dr. Friend was so kind as well and gave me some great recommendations to manage some tooth sensitivity I am having.

The staff is always nice and welcoming. I have been going there ever since they were at their previous place . I highly recommend if you are looking for a new dentist or just looking for one in general this is the place to go.

Office staff are friendly. My hygienist and Dr. Cook take good care of my teeth. My hygienist is thorough but gentle. They keep to the schedule— no long waits past the appointment time. There is free off-street parking. I am glad we switched to this dental practice.

You ladies always do a great job, but this last visit, everyone went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. I requested an additional service during my normal cleaning without scheduling an appointment, and your staff went out of their way to fit me into a very busy schedule so I wouldnt have to make two trips into the office. Cassie is always prompt, polite and efficient. She is interested in my concerns and passes them along to the appropriate person. Great sense of humor! The office staff are always polite and welcoming and the office is clean. Overall experience is A+!

Lousy cleaning and exam. Dr. Friend was anything but friendly.Theres a different dentist and hygienist every time. Ive switched to Hethwood Dental and had three positive experiences there. And they are nice.

Cassie and Dr Cook are amazing. They answered all of my questions and I was well informed of my options. Cassie really took time to make my visit enjoyable as I am not a big fan of the dentist or doctors for that matter.

I unfortunately did not have a pleasant experience here. It was my first visit, and I was not informed I would have to wait an hour for the dentist after being seen by the hygienist because only one dentist was working that day. Only once I stood facing the door did someone inform me of this, otherwise who knows how long I would have laid in the chair facing the wall and waiting. After all the waiting, Dr. Cook rushed in, apologized, and proceeded to speak very fast the entire time. If an hour long wait was followed by a dentist who gave you his/her full attention and concern, it might be tolerable. Dr. Cook insisted that the pain in my teeth was probably from grinding and suggested a night guard. Nothing else was done. A week later, I still have pain my teeth and no night guard -- they never called it in to the pharmacy. I will not be returning.

Yesterday I went to Dr. Cooks office for some restorative work and found Angela and Dr. Cook warm, welcoming, and professional - as always. They do very good work. And they have a great sense of humor!

Was called back for cleaning and office visit at my precise appointment time. (11:10AM). Zero waiting and zero issues. Hygienist, Dentist, and Receptionist were all friendly and helpful.

People at Cook Family Dentistry is very friendly and you do not have to wait to be attended. My experience has been very rewarding. They are very professional in what they do and they want you to feel comfortable and at ease.

Almost all the work I got done at Cook Ive needed reworked. One filling eveloped a cavity underneath it within a couple months because it was done incorrectly and I needed a crown from it. Another broke out entirely and I ended up needing a root canal from a reputable dentist. They did poor work.

Dr. Cook and my hygienist Cassie are the best anyone could ask for! I have been seeing them for many years and they are always so friendly and gentle while working on my teeth.

When able to go there staff was great but a bill went to collections and they told me I couldn’t come back even though said bill has been paid and I offered to prepay before I had anymore work done. Nope. They still refused to see me.

After setting up cleaning appt for June a couple weeks ago I went out of town. I broke one of my upper front teeth. I called and emailed while I was out of town. I received a phone call the first day I was home and they couldwork me in the next day. Then, at my appt I’m the nervous, jittery one. Haha. Dr. Cook restored my tooth the best she could. Had a tooth that needed to be pulled. They were able to get me in a room, examined, X-rays and the tooth extracted within an hour and 30 mins. Very calming environment and the staff was great at easing my discomfort.

They stayed late on a Friday to take care of my repair, getting me in way before the month long wait that I was scheduled for. They went above and beyond to take care of me and I very much appreciated that.

I enjoy Cook dentist very much. After some years in Blacksburg and having tried another dentist in-between, I decided for Cook. They are very friendly, professional, and clean! The cost also seems very fair!

Came in with a worry/pain and they took care of me quickly. Took me in and set up a quick appointment to address my problem. No pain and all went well with Dr. Robertson. Clearly, the man knows his stuff.

These people are horrible. Dr.Cook is clumsy, incompetent and mentally unstable. During my appointments she dropped tools on the floor while she was working on my teeth, then picked them up off the floor and put them back on the table next to my chair. One time as she picked something up that she had dropped, she told the assistant that she just dropped her football.... She gave me a mirror to look at that was covered in a white substance so I couldnt see a reflection in it, then after she saw the confused look on my face she took the mirror back and wiped it off before handing it to me again, When I went back to her office and politely asked the receptionist if I could speak to Dr. Cook about my dissatisfaction with the work she did on my teeth, Dr. Cook refused to come out and talk to me until a police officer arrived to sit and watch us converse even though there was no just cause for her to do that to me. I am reporting her and a few other dentists in that town to the F.B.I. Although a lot of people have complained that there are very few good dentists in that area. I actually moved out of the state of Virginia altogether because the treatment was so bad. I would not recommend this dentist.

As someone who does not enjoy going in for a dentist appointment, this was different from others that I have seen. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, with no long lectures and great conversation to keep the atmosphere lively.

Everyone here is very nice and professional doctors and staff I am an African-American woman I did not feel like anyone was being racist I felt very comfortable I had some issues with my insurance they were very patient and helped me with it to ensure that I got the help that I needed from my insurance I will highly recommend them two others

Dr. Cook and Angela are very caring and warming. They always are friendly and smiling. They always make sure u understand everything.

My dental hygienist was superb, and the service from all of the staff, from the minute I called in from the parking lot, to the examination by the dentist, as well as office staff, was excellent.

Staff were friendly, but Dr. Cook decided to try and fit a 20 minute procedure in 5 minutes and botched it twice. I would look elsewhere for a dentist.

Not me personally but my best friend went here and she was rude, and rough. No warning, no compassion, plus the dentist and the hygenist were making fun that my friend was hurting!! Just overal an awful experience.

I had my teeth cleaned at Cook Family Denistry. The front desk staff was amazing, Liz did my paperwork and made sure I got sent back in a timely manner. As a typical skeptic patient with the common phobias related to dental work, my experience with Cook Family Dentistry alleviated all dental related fears I had. Proficient, professional, and an extraordinary staff made for the best dental experiences I have ever had. Since my last visit, I have signed the entire family up, making Cook dentistry our primary dental care providers. If you live in the Christiansburg or Blacksburg area, there is no better place to trust with your dental care needs! I cant thank them enough.

Dr. Cook has been fantastic! Im terrified of the dentist and the first time I saw her, when she walked in the room I cried. Shes been so compassionate with me since meeting me. Ive never had a dentist that has been so willing to help me through my fears so that I can get the dental care that I need. I wholeheartedly recommend this dentist!

First, a friendly nurse took X-Rays, then Dr. Martini came and immediately told me that tooth number 30 needs root canal. She did not spend more than 2 minutes examining my tooth. Then, she referred me to two Endodontist in Blacksburg.Luckily, I chose another Endodontist in Roanoke (Dr. Bagby). Dr. Bagby took another series of X-Rays and after a thorough examination, she told me that my wisdom tooth is the problem and it needs to be extracted and tooth number 30 just needs filling.I hope no one else has the same experience there as I had.

I am very very happy that I found Dr. Bagby.My dentist in Blacksburg, Va diagnosed that my tooth number 30 needs root canal and she referred me to two local EndodontistsLuckily, I chose Dr. Bagby. A very friendly nurse (Christi), took one X-Rays and after a thorough examination, Dr. Bagby told me that my wisdom tooth is the problem and it needs to be extracted and tooth number 30 just needs filling.I am very glad, because I cannot imagine what would have happened if I had chosen one of the referred Endodotists. She saved my tooth, $2000 and she helped me to get rid of pain.

The hygienist did some serious damage to my crown by yanking repeatedly on some cement poking out from under it. I did not have tooth pain before my visit, now flossing causes extreme pain and spots where they scraped just a little too much are now very sensitive.

Dr Cook is the only dentist Ive ever been to who took the time to understand how I reacted to pain medicine; as a result, shes the only one whos been able to work on me without blinding pain.
