Hello, my name is Darryl and I am writing a review on behalf of my mother who chose to trust Dales Auto Restoration service with completing some work on her car. About 4 years ago my mother took her 1969 Ford Torino GT fast back to Dales Auto Restoration and got some body and paint work done. After the work was done my mother received her car back and she was so happy that she didnt think to do a walk around. Well being a car enthusiast and having experience with cars, I finally got to see my mothers car for the first time. I immediately noticed so many imperfections that it was crazy. I found that there was paint drips inside of the the paint on the driver door panel, the gapping is off in many places to include the doors and the hood is bowed up. I noticed that there is chipping and rust still in the trunk. Also there is paint on the different parts of the trim to show that the trim was not removed when painted. Also around the antenna as well.He also had the task to get the interior done and the drivers seat has no spring to it as you sink to the floor, door panels havent been touched and so on. I can go on and on. I feel so bad for my mother as she is so hurt and disappointed after spending about 30,000 for this work. I dont want to speak bad about Mr. Dale, but this is unacceptable by the least. Working as an agent for the government and knowing the court system, this by far would have been filed for a claim. I wish there was a way to rectify the work that was done but mother felt that after Dale response, there is no hope. This is a business and sometimes things dont go well but you work to fix them, not to avoid blame. No matter what is said my mother was not given the chance to fix any additional concerns with the vehicle. No car restoration shop that takes pride in there work would paint a car when the gaps and body isnt right. This is unacceptable. I cant even list everything that I found. My mother drove this car twice and it sat under a car cover in a garage. This was not caused by her.Depending on Mr. Dales response to this email it will show us and others what type of person he is and the pride, respect and integrity in him and how he runs his business and respects his customers. God bless you Mr. Dale but shame on the work that was done. Thank you in advance for your response and may God bless you!! below is just a few pics to show you the work that was done. These are the pics of the finished product, not worth 30K. I am now tasked to rectify this by having to pay another 30 plus to have my mothers car done right. Not include he also mysteriously lost her 351 badges for her hood scoop.

Dale is an honest business person and professional. The few negative reviews of his work are a reflection of the people who wrote the reviews. Some people would complain if their ice cream was cold. There are a couple of things people should know about auto restoration before considering having a car restored. 1) The restoration shows on television are scripted - they are not even remotely accurate when it comes to time tables and costs. No one can restore a car in a few weeks for $20,000. 2) Restored cars are still old cars - they are not the virtually maintenance free vehicles that are being produced today. Old cars ride, drive and perform in accordance with the technology of their day. It is extremely expensive to try and make an old car perform the way modern cars do.

I had a 1969 Ford Torino painted and seats redone about 4 years ago. The worst job Ive ever had done and it cost $30,000. The trim wasnt taken off, painted around it and paint on the edges of the chrome trim. Many drips at the bottom of the driver door. I cried the day it was brought to me in TN from ND. I was so disappointed that I only drove it twice and gave it to my son. Hes going to get it repainted.

They tried to quote me for $1,300 to redo the lower seals on my window. I went to 4 separate shops and they ALL quoted me for $600 or less. Parts labor and everything. Dales is a low grade scam. They bump their prices wayyyy too high for the same quality of work as everyone else in town, if not worse. Do NOT go through them I heavily recommend almost any other body shop.specifically I’d recommend memory lane in Mandan. Very high quality work with a very very fair pricing scale. Again dales is GREEDY AND SHODDY.EDIT: the fact remains you tried to rip me off. For the seal set it is total $114,99 and you told me it was well over $600 in parts alone. You’re a two bit scam artist and I don’t want anyone else to get ripped off
