Honest Review. Be specific with what you want done to your vehicle. From the four detail options to choose, if anyone of those choices does not include a trunk, window, seat (etc.)cleaning specified in the detail you chose dont expect it to be cleaned. Again, specify actually what you want done. I had the standard detail which took four hours to complete and was satisfied with the work done. There was just one man working on my vehicle. Im a patient guy so had no problem but will prefer to drop my car off and pick it up next time around. Other than that just let the man do his job. He knows what he is doing.

I called to get a quote, asked who I was speaking with first (always like to know a name) and the person from Alabama Solar Film was the rudest person. He would not give me his name, and said verbatim we do tint, what do you want I told him I will take my business somewhere else.

This will be the 3rd vehicle that Alabama Solar Film has done for me. Steve thoroughly explains what he is going to do and is extremely proficient in what he does. I highly, highly recommend Alabama Solar Film for your automobile tinting needs. Steve is very upfront with his pricing and stands behind his work. If you have any issues at all, he will make it right. I know this because I had a small bubble come up on my tint about a week after I had it done. Contacted Steve and he, without hesitation, told me to bring my vehicle back and hed make it right; and he did. Simply the best - hands down!

I called last Friday to make an appointment for this Tuesday 9am. I showed up but they didn’t have my record. The staff apologized that they had a new guy was not that reliable and have me to come again on Thursday 9am. I have been waiting for 40 mins and nobody showed up or called me beforehand for their delay. I had a groupon and need to call groupon for trading in. It wasted a lot of time of me and it’s a horrible experience. If they can’t even set up my appointment right, I can’t trust they can be professional enough to do a decent job. Really frustrated about this place and will tell ppl around me to avoid this place for future.

My experience was a tough one. Once you realize the expected and stated time frame is unrealistic, then be patient, the results were worth it!!! Steve did an amazing painstaking job on replacing my tint on a celica!!!! Then an amazing job restoring my headlights!!! Just give them time, you will be happy!

I read the reviews online and was initially skeptical. I went anyway and had a great experience! When I arrived, the owner explained what my options were. He was very thorough. The install didnt take long at all. I was very impressed with the work. He did a great job! I would definitely recommend this company.

The owner Mr. Steven did a lousy job on my BMW yesterday (07-30-19). The tint on some of my windows have bubbles all over and he wont re do his work unless I pay him again to do it or just sued him to fix it like he told me. Hope that everyone who tries to use this business google his business information and realizes how lousy his work is and top of that, he is very disrespectful and has lousy customer service skills PLUS THERE IS NOT WARRANTY ON HIS JOB UNLESS YOU SUED HIM TO FIX IT. My advice to everyone is stay away from this business even if a friend refer you thinking you are getting a good deal on your tint for your windows, pretty much you pay for what you get LOUSY WORK....

I had a great experience with Alabama Solar Film. This business is owned an operated by a man and his family. He was the receptionist, owner, inventory clerk, laborer, etc. While we were waiting in the waiting area, his two kids were interacting with me and the rest of the people in the waiting room . The oldest drew me a picture. Fun and thoughtful of him.Initially I had some issues scheduling but after that was worked out everything went smooth. He finished within 15 mins of his estimated time, gave me proper care instruction for the tint, asked if I had any questions, and I was on my way.His craft is top notch. Symmetric lines of the tint just at the top of the window. No bubbles, peeling, or scratches. I waited to post anything about the workmanship until after some time to see if the quality would waiver. And it hasnt.I would highly recommend Alabama Solar Film. Glad to help out him and his family.

I wish there was a Zero Star rating. Alabama Solar Film listed on Groupon for car detailing. I paid $180 for 2 certificates to have my car & my god-daughter car detailed. We called to set appointments. The man who answered the phone said they no longer do business with Groupon. He said he would not honor the certificates & said I should contact Groupon to get my money back. When I asked his name he told me that does not matter & then he hung up on us.Ripping people off...... Refusing to honor pre-sold certificates. WOW!!! Horrible business! Check their BBB rating. It is an F. How on earth are they still in business?

I purchased a Groupon for Alabama Solar Film. After reading the Google reviews, I was skeptical. Had an appointment for today, the guy showed up early and went right to work. He was courteous and knowledgeable and did a great job.

This place is horrible! I made my appointment as requested. When I got there he told me it will be an extra 40 because he will lose money if he take Groupon customers on Saturday! Then he said it will be another 40 for the small windows at the back. Do not go to this place! They will rip you off!

Found this hidden gem via Groupon. 😍 A hundred dollars off a full car tint? I couldnt pass it up. Got me in and out in under the quoted time frame. Was EXTREMELY professional and informative about the product he uses. Offers a lifetime warranty on the labor with a limited warranty of I believe 7 years on the actual tint... The only TINY improvement I can suggest is some signage leading up to the building, but other than that? Im officially getting all my vehicles windows tinted by this young talented man and wish I could give him more than 5 stars!

This company is garbage. They talk to people very unprofessional and nasty. I talked to the owner to who appeared to be nice when I made my APPOINTMENT, then when my husband showed up for the appointment he was given a hard time. I saw a few reviews that were good before going but I saw a few bad ones. I decided to give him a try. BIG MISTAKE. I will never recommend anyone to go to this business and I got a refund. They are very unprofessional.

This guy was unprofessional. I wanted to get my tail light tint done. He told me the quote of $40 for both sides. Unfortunately, it took him longer than expected so he completed one side on that day and told me to pay $20 and come back the next day. I came back the next day to finish and he then states he will take another $75 to finish the job. He basically robbed me of $20. I told him no thank you and he said its business. Will never go there again and make sure no one goes there again.

If I could rate zero stars, I would. My brother, sister and I were all getting windows tinted so I opted to try Alabama Solar Film first and refer my brother and sister. I read the reviews and despite the negative reviews on Google, Facebook, and other sites I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. That was my mistake. I read all about how the owner would change scheduled times without warning, but I called several times to ensure that didnt happen. When I arrived this morning for my 8:30 am appointment after several confirmation calls, I was told he had other cars scheduled for 8:30 am and couldnt do mine at the time scheduled. He told me that Scheduling difficulties are the nature of business and thats normal. And when I replied with No, thats why we have schedules, so we can avoid such difficulties. He threw his arms up and said he wasnt doing the work any more. I had already paid, so Im out the money and didnt get the tinting I paid for. If you can avoid this place, AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS! Dont make the same mistake I did and think youll be the exception to all the negative experiences written about across the internet.

Read reviews after I scheduled to have Front windows of an SUV tinted. Was a little worried when I found location. The reception area is bare so I got more worried. I rang the bell and the owner came out. Looked at my car, discussed options and showed me the films because he could tell I wanted it perfect. Told me it would be 30-45 mins, confirmed quoted price and immediately pulled my car around. He was done in no time and my car looks perfect. I called every tiny place in Birmingham, his prices were the best and no I didnt use a Groupon. The work is better than the last high dollar place I used. 24 hours and I have no bubbles! Very pleased.

Yea, I was skeptical just like you.I was referred by a friend to get tint here and all it was, was a nightmare and a money scheme. He does it all in cash so you can’t sue and only stays in a stable mood till he finishes your car. He puts on tint to his own discrepancy and leaves marks all around the car, even dirties up the inside. He gives you a reasonably low price to bait you into dropping more money down the line to fix his mistakes. The bad reviews are legit and the good reviews are almost fake. Lastly, once I called AGAIN for his “loyalty protection” he then hung up and said “Unless you’re throwing me more money don’t call again, sue me for all I care”. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. If there were a zero stars rating I would put it here.

HORRRRIIIBBBLLLEEEE! The guy who answers the phone all the time(Im assuming hes the owner) has a terrible attitude and very poor customer service. I bought a Groupon for car-detailing. Before I purchased it, I called to see where he was located because there were some discrepancies in the address posted on Google and the one posted on Groupon. He immediately got an attitude and told me I had to make an appointment and I couldnt just show up. I informed him that I was only calling to see where he was located. I informed him that I had read some not so great reviews and wanted to insure that I would still get good service even though I had a Groupon deal. He told me that I would and that all those reviews meant nothing. I called back a few days later and made an appointment for a Saturday. He told me to bring it in at 9. Ok cool. I called back a few days after making an appointment and asked if it was possible to move my appointment to Friday. He said, Yea, I was planning to call you anyways and tell you that I wasnt going to be able to do it on Saturday. I asked him if they were closed or something and he said, Naw, we just decided we aint doing Groupon deals on Saturday anymore. We arent tying up our Saturdays on Groupon deals when we can be making a lot more money. I do over 1,200 cars a year and we really just dont need Groupon. Okkkkk....so, I made the appointment for Friday morning at 8:30. On Friday, I arrived at 8:36 and no one was there. I called him and asked if I could leave my keys in a drop box or something because I had to get to work and my husband, who trailed me there so that he could take me to work, needed to get to work as well. He said, I mean, not really. What were you getting done anyway? Tent or detail? I say detail. He says, I mean, its supposed to rain today(it was not) and I dont do rainchecks. You need to bring it back another day when its not going to rain. I told him that I wasnt as concerned about the outside of the vehicle as I was the inside, so the rain wouldnt bother me(even though there was no rain in the forecast) and jokingly said, Man, it seems like its always something with you guys. He went off and said, What do you mean? If you feel like its always something, Im not going to do it at all. How about that?! So go ahead and call Groupon and tell them to cancel it because Im not doing it.Sorry the review is so long, but this place is a JOKE. I should have gone with my first instinct and not purchased it. I was able to get my money back from Groupon, though. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GROUPON OR PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!!!

They do a terrible rushed job. Did not take their time on my moms car. She paid for inside detail where they were supposed to shampoo the seats but they only spot washed. Extremely Unprofessional and Rude! I bought a Groupon and made my appointment. When I arrive, the man already had an attitude. The first words out his mouth were is this a voucher? Now I had already told him when I made the appt. Then he tells me there is an upcharge of $60 for my car (a VW) and I tell him ok, but in the write up it doesnt mention my make. First off, he should ask your make, so you know this ahead of time because he also said it has to be cash. Told me about the 2 small back windows upcharge too which I was fine with because that was clear in the write up. I showed him the Groupon write up and said you should update, so people know VW are included. Oh, that really pd him off. He told me to get a refund and refused service. Then switched it to if you pay all cash, then Ill do it. I was stunned. Obviously, the man doesnt want to be questioned nor is need of the business. He told his child to get in the truck, so they can go buy the tv. Is that why he wanted cash?? Maybe some black Friday special he was racing to because he immediately left while I was contacting Groupon. Pay a little more and get the professionalism some place else!

TOTALLY un-professional...First I had an appointment with him at 4 o clock, he doesnt show until 4:30. Once he arrives he quotes my car at 115 I give him the money and he starts to pull car around. Keep in mind I am a 22 year old black male. He is also black. While pulling my car around an older white gentlemen drives up with a brand new truck ... He stops everything he is doing with my car and attends to the gentlemen.. after waiting on him to show for 30 min he then claims I was 30 min late for my appointment and the other guy had an appointment at 3:30...after sitting for 2 hours the older gentlemen drives off a happy man while Im sitting waiting.. I walk to the back to find my car sitting in the corner without being touched! I AM ALL FOR SUPPORTING small black owned businesses but please treat all customers with the same respect!!!!!!

Heres the take away from my interaction with this company and owner:Make sure you make an appointment and he writes it down because I called and we agreed upon a time to meet but when I showed up today he had no recollection of our conversation and appointment. Therefore I had to wait for him to get there. Dont buy the Groupon because the owners attitude changed when I told him I had a Groupon. If you do bring at least $40 dollars cash because the Groupon only covers 5 windows and for my sedan he said it had 7 windows (most sedans have two windows in the rear doors...one large and one small). Lastly, owner is very difficult....he said he didnt have time for me and to get Groupon to refund my money.

30 minutes into him tinting my car, he stops half way and says that he it is taking too much time to tint and his priotirty was other customers. So he tells me to go home and call back at lunch hours.Lunch hours come by and I call and he says to call 40 minutes later.Then 40 minutes later he states to call at the end of day.At the end of the day he ignores all my calls.When he finally picked up the NEXT DAY he awnser with STOP CALLING ME, I HAVE A LIFE, I WILL CALL YOU, DONT CALL AGAINHe was very disrespectful and unprofessional.Take my advice, and the other reviews here on google. Just had got my windows tint done on today the customer service was great he did suggest to me if I would like to have a darker color dont buy the Groupon ticket and just come in and pay cash and he still gave me a great discount so overall my customers service experience was great but if you do want darker tint definitely call 1st before you buy the Groupon ticket if you want darker tint my car is looking great

I have had a TERRIBLE time with a company that I purchased a groupon for. It all started when I was initially trying to schedule my appt with the company. These people were so unprofessional and would never answer or return my calls. It took me almost 2 weeks to get my appt scheduled. When we traveled over an hour to their location, they said we didnt have an appointment, even though I scheduled it over the phone with a man named Steven. They made us reschedule. So a week later, we get to the appointment today after driving another hour and they werent even at the shop. They said to leave the key in the key box and it would be done by 4:00. Around 3:30, my husband called to see if they were finishing up so we could head down there and pick our truck up. HE HADNT EVEN STARTED ON OUR VEHICLE and tried to make us reschedule again. You could imagine how upset we were at this point because of all of the problems weve gone through already. Well, I called him to see whats going on and he immediately blew up on me over the phone and started yelling and saying we just need to get a refund because it isnt going to happen. That we werent even paying full price, so he wasnt going to work with us anymore. This man wouldnt even let me get one word in without yelling over me and proceeded to hang up on me. I was trying to see when we would be able to pick up our vehicle because he had our key and wasnt even at the shop to let us get our vehicle. I was trying to inform him that we needed the vehicle to pick up my daughter from daycare, but he said that wasnt his problem. He clearly doesnt want to work with groupon customers, so dont even bother if thats your plan. We nearly had to call the police on this man to get our vehicle back. And I have never been so disrespected by someone I was trying to do business with...I am livid right now and would hate for anybody else go through everything we have with this company. Dont waste your money and time.

Very poor customer service; I bought a Groupon back in June and made an appointment on the same day for Friday. I took time off from work to get my tint done. When I arrived, the lady said that no one had me down for an appointment and they wouldnt be able to get to me. She made it clear that she couldnt care less about the time that I had wasted, which pissed me off. I took my car to Appearance Auto on Greensprings and got served the same day. I paid more, but at least they care about their customers (my second car that was tinted by them). Also, Groupon only gives cash refunds within three days of purchase; it was the fourth day for me so all I could get was a voucher.

Im writing this review only a few hours after the owner of Alabama Solar Film screwed me over for the third and final time. As a birthday present, a friend of mine purchased a Groupon for window tinting with this business and scheduled an appointment for me. On the day of the appointment, I called Alabama Solar Film to confirm the appointment and they told me come at the scheduled time. The owner called back a few minutes later to say he was backed up and I would have to reschedule. A few days later, I called and got another appointment for the end of the following week. Again on the day of, I called to confirm my appointment, and I was given the green light to come in. I arrived at Alabama Solar Film at 3:30 for my appointment. There was one customer sitting in the lobby when I arrived . The owner told me that they were finishing his car and I would be next. After sitting in the lobby for about 30 minutes or so, the owner came and got my keys and took my car around to the back to, as I thought, begin tinting my windows. After sitting there in the lobby for over two hours, the owner comes in to tell me that the previous jobs took longer than expected and that he would not be able to get to my car. Of course, Im angry because I wasted over two hours sitting in the lobby and they had not even started work on my car. He, the owner, apologized and offered to come in at 7:30 am the next morning (Saturday) to tint my windows. I reluctantly agreed, and got up very early the next morning to get my windows tinted. On my way to the shop, the owner called me to say that he couldnt do the work today and we needed to reschedule once again. I was livid! I told him that Saturday morning at 7:30 am was your idea, and youre going back on your word once again? I told him that I would not be rescheduling and that I would take my business elsewhere. He said fine and he hung up. If youre thinking of patronizing this business, think again. He is very unprofessional and his word means absolutely nothing! I rate this company with one star only because I had to in order to post this review. If it were possible, I would give Alabama Solar Film negative stars. I dont recommend that you patronize Alabama Solar Film for any reason! To further describe how unprofessional this company is, the owner, upon seeing this review, called me and cursed me out. His exact words were, I only tried to work with your B**** A** and you wrote that stuff about me. I told him that every word of my review was true and people should know what kind of business youre running. The only thing he did for me was inconvenience me. I told him to never ever call me again and I hung up. As I stated earlier, this company is very unprofessional. You have been warned!
