Wonderful place! Pat was so nice, she was able to squeeze in my man despite being so busy. We were in and out in just 20 minutes. I love his new hair cut. Next time well book an appointment, so she can have more time to cut his hair. We live in Minnesota and decided to just try this place out, totally worth it!

James is the man. In the 23 years I’ve been alive I’ve never once been 100% satisfied with a haircut until I found this place. You know how it is, you just have to wait a few days for it to grow out a bit and then you’re like “well I guess it’s OK now.” Not here. Perfect cut every time. This place is a gem. Having an ACTUAL barber cut your hair or trim your beard is worth ever Penny. A $25 dollar haircut is a steal especially in this area. Dustin is my guy and does a absolute FANTASTIC job. If you need a fresh fade, this is your man. Although Im SURE he can do any style cut you need.Fun fact: a barber needs 1800 hours to get a licenses in our fair state. You will notice a difference if you go from a hair dresser to a legit barber.

My husband recently started getting cuts at the Barber Pole and Travis did an awesome job on his hair (he’s tried multiple local barbershops and they’re the best!). I just took my 4 year old for a cut with Patricia (Pat) and we’re customers for life! She does great with kids and took her time instead of just rushing through as most do when cutting kids hair. As all of the reviews reflect, this place is truly the best in town!

They appear to be the only place around town open at 7am! For early morning people, this is such a benefit! Be able to come in first thing, not worry about Birmingham parking and have your fresh cut, shave etc before the day even begins. Dustin is my guy, does solid fades and takes the time to listen to what you want to ensure youre happy and feeling fresh walking outta there! Go see him!

Best place around Birmingham for a perfect cut every time. I tried The Barber Pole (TBP) after hearing great things from friends and family about six years ago. Pat cut my hair the first time and every time since. She does a perfect job every time and couldnt be any more positive and pleasant to chat with while getting cleaned up. Before TBP, I dreaded going to the barber (esp. the waits!) and would stretch times between visits. Since discovering TBP, I now genuinely look forward to visiting every 2.5 weeks...and they just remodeled!

This was my first haircut in four months, thanks to the corona virus. I had a mountain of hair! Hadnt been this long since my college days during the Vietnam era. I loved that the Barber Pole -- also because of the virus -- was doing business by appointment only. There were floor signs indicating social distancing for those who had to wait. Much appreciated. Kim did a fantastic job of cutting my hair and returning me to the guy I was four months ago. I hadnt been to the Barber Pole before, but I will definitely be going back there again!

Nick is awesome. Couple weeks ago had my first day off since COVID-19 and Nick fit me in for a cut. Now he’s the only barber I go to. And I drive from South Warren to Birmingham for my cuts. Great place awesome haircut reasonable price

The Barber Pole provided straight razor shaves for my husband and our groomsmen the morning of our wedding. They were able to fit in (with an appointment) 7 shaves with 2 barbers between 8am and 11am. My husband and the groomsmen couldnt stop talking about how great a experience it was. None of them had gotten a straight razor shave before, so they were really fascinated with the process. While waiting, they even had fun things to do like play chess. Best yet, they all agreed that the barbers are really cool guys and are very skilled. My husband was so thrilled to get pampered in a manly way before our wedding, so Im glad that The Barber Pole made that possible!

I love this place. Yes, you will have to wait most days because they are busy, but I always get a great haircut here. Cant go wrong with almost all of the barbers. No reservations and Cash only, but thats sort of refreshing. Doesnt matter if its your first or hundred and first visit, everyone is friendly and professional.

Its tough to find a REAL barber if youre a guy. Seriously. I always look for a real barber shop and the Barber Pole Birmingham meets this criteria. Sharp looking cuts, no hair out of place, blade neck shave - these guys really know their stuff. Both Steve and Travis (admittedly, the only two barbers I have used) are talented cutters indeed - super consistent. This is a cash only place - the one downside. Highly recommended.

Went there today for the first time to get a haircut and my first ever straight razor shave. The place has a nice atmosphere and it was clear that the regulars there have good relationships with the folks there, but no one really said Hi to me when I walked in. Thats my only complaint. Im happy with the haircut that I got, but the real reason I went there was to get the straight razor shave. That was a very enjoyable experience. Stephen did a fantastic job and seemed to really know what he was doing. I think Ill make it a tradition to go back for a shave for fathers day and my birthday to treat myself.

Travis is the best barber in town. He always follows my directions closely and makes great additional suggestions. My “go to” for over 2 years now.

I stopped by The Barber Pole out of sheer convenience, but was impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the short wait and their attentiveness to my own personal style. Was able to get a great cut on my lunch break!

The Barber Pole has great service and a fantastic location. I have been there a couple of times and I will be going back. Saturdays are the most crowded days. If you are not waiting for a specific person there is almost no wait time.
