Nice boat, friendly crew. We were shorted time on our trip by 1.5 hours due to the morning trip returning late. We were at the dock at 12:30 for a 1 o’clock departure. We didn’t leave until almost 2:30 and were still back by six. No discount given for being shorted.

We had a wonderful day! Captain Dustin and his first mate Ben, were great! We had my nieces 3 sons, ages 12, 10 and 7 out for a day of deep sea fishing, and the day did not disappoint! The two older boys each caught huge red fish weighing 18 and 20 pounds and the youngest caught several mackerel. The first mate was very informative about what to expect and what kind of fish they might catch. He was very patient and kind and cheered on the boys as they reeled their fish in! Couldnt have asked for a nicer Captain and crew and the boat was phenomenal! Thanks Captain Dustin and Ben for making these boys dreams come true!

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The day started out a little slow but Captain Jay eventually got us on some fish. They were testing out a new option for anglers, HD cameras on your head. Never heard of that on a charter boat before but it was really cool. It really added to the whole experience and every time I see the video it is like reliving that trip. All in all we all understood thats sometimes the fish just arent biting at a spot today they did at yesterday. He tried his hardest find that sweet spot and he found it! Recommend this boat to anybody looking for a comfortable ride and overall great time making memories on the water.

We didnt go on the Silver Dollar, we were on the little boat.We were recommended to the Silver Dollar and her little sister Big Fish through the Beau Rivage. I wish I would have done my own research. The reviews of the Silver Dollar seem pretty good though, so we thought that we would have some really great luck, and personal attention, on the MUCH smaller Big Fish.Apparently the regular captain was doing another charter this morning, so we got his buddy, Brett. Brett had taken a job with a cable company several months ago and hadnt been out fishing in some time (this was sign number 1 we were in for a long day). We were informed that our captain moonlights as a musician and that he bought a new amp yesterday. It would have been nice if (since he hadnt been out fishing in some time due to his new cable guy job) he had spent yesterday getting in touch with other local captains and finding out what is biting and where rather than shopping for a new amp.We were celebrating our sons 6th birthday and spending time with my Dad who had flown into town to do this. We planned on doing a 4 hour (catch whatever is the best thing we can catch) charter. During 4 hours we caught a total of 3 small catfish. Our captain didnt even have pliers to get the hooks out of the cat fish mouths. As I said in the title, this was basically a SUPER expensive boat ride. In just over 4 hours we only dropped lines 4 times. The last time, only 2 of us were offered a pole. We did A LOT of marking spots on the GPS for what I can assume is a fishing trip with buddies tomorrow? One of the highlights was the upper body exercise we got pulling up our own anchor. In all seriousness, our captain probably would have done it, but he didnt, my dad and husband did.At about hour 3 I said, I hate to be debbie downer, but maybe we can just head back. However, he SWORE we could catch some fish under some floating pieces of anchored debris. We didnt.Speaking of swearing, there were plenty of S bombs and a few JCs which isnt really appropriate around a 6 year old. Lucky for us, our son knows that those are adult words and not to repeat them. After about 2 hours the waters calmed down and it became slightly less uncomfortable cruising around in basically circles. The only padded seat was ripped. (keep in mind, we fish, we have a boat, we were not expecting memory foam seats with massaging fingers). We get it, it is a little boat, it is for maneuverability not comfort.I guess the 3 things that bothered me the most (other than not catching any fish) was that we felt like Brett was out there for himself (with us along for some unknown reason). That at one point he actually said, since we arent catching fish, I am just going to run down Dustins fuel. (I assume Dustin is the owner or normal captain). Finally that at the end of the FISHLESS experience, we werent offered any discount, explanation, anything. We caught NOTHING. An experienced captain would have changed directions, gone inshore, changed tactics. We would have been happy pulling up mullet or pin fish after the first 2 hours of catching nothing. We werent here to land the world record. We wanted our 6 year old to have a memorable fishing experience.Visited September 2017
