I was actually looking for a spa that does body work, and this salon came up as having that service. I don’t know if they still have massages or not, but I did go there for a hair styling. I had left a review, but I saw that it had been deleted. My issue was that when I described the style I wanted (think big, barrel roll curls like Katherine Hepburn, or Dita Von Teese) my stylist told me it couldn’t be done. My hair was longer than shoulder length, has natural body (takes curls easily) and has been styled that way before in a different salon. The stylist ended up just using a curling iron, and then only on the edges of my hair—not my entire head. The service I got was not worth what I paid. This was within 24 months of them moving into the Mill complex in Biddeford.

New to the area, looking for a local stylist. Had an appointment with Julie for a trim. Not really wanting anything drastic until I got a feel for the place. Julie was great! I was called earlier that day to see if I wanted to come in a half hour early (much appreciated!) and we met, had a consultation and went to it. Whatever products she used to wash my hair were awesome, my hair was so shiny afterwards. She gave me exactly what I asked for.......worth repeating.....she gave me exactly what I asked for. We made small talk and she wasnt intrusive. So many stylists either talk too much or get too intrusive. The salon itself is immaculate, even at the end of the day I didnt see hair on the floor. The mural is beautiful. Definitely returning. Thanks, Julie.

Amy is an absolute pro! Went there for a facial then went back for a brow wax because she is so awesome! She knows what she is doing and is super warm and funny which is a bonus.

I Had an appointment here for a color and I couldn’t recommend the service more. Very relaxed and fun environment. Personally I felt the prices were fair in comparison to others in the area! I wouldn’t want to change a single thing about my hair, very happy!

My daughter went here yesterday, she was charged $333.00 for a cut and color! Didn’t get the color she had asked for at all! When she said something to the stylist abut the color she stated that it would be extra! Really how much more could you possibly charge ?!?! Spoke with the owner who was very nice, but that doesn’t change the fact that she doesn’t get the color or Cut she had ask for! But it all worked out she went to another salon who fix her hair and it looks fabulous! I wouldn’t recommend this place. I’m very sorry for the bad review! But she is getting married in 2 weeks and just wanted her hair to look good. And didn’t get it here.

Ive been to Tulu Salon twice now, and I absolutely love it! Its my new go to, as they always do an amazing job! The staff is upbeat, friendly, and so talented. Will definitely be recommending to others! :)

Tulu and Terra and her entire staff who are all so expert in their field of beauty are just amazing. If anybody out there needs proof of this...go to Tulu. You will never be disappointed. The salon is so gorgeous and the staff are what you would expect in high end salons in New York City, London and Paris. You cannot top Tulu in my book. I would follow Terra anywhere in the world. She and her entire staff are the best you could find anywhere in the world!

I love Tulu Salon and Alicja Bronk! She is fantastic, fun, a brilliant and caring stylist who truly listens to your needs and gives you a cut that fits not only your face but also your personality. Cant recommend her highly enough. Tulu is also such a gorgeous salon and everyone there is so kind and so welcoming.

I went to Tulu salon and saw Preslie and i have neverhad a better experience. she was professional and amazing at what she did. i went from brown to blonde and am so amazed at the results. preslie was so accommodating during the whole process and gave me everything i wanted. i love my hair and will be continuing to come to see preslie whenever i need anything done with my hair. preslie was calm and understanding and listened to all of my concerns and needs. i love the atmosphere here and everyone i came in contact with was so professional. i am over the moon with my experience and tesukts here. i have been to many hair salons and this is by far my favorite place.

Visited Tulu twice in August for hair services- Julie was good and I liked her. Salon is nice; however, prices are on the high side when even comparing Portland market- not a great value for your money. Very disturbed by the $10 upcharge for cleaning during pandemic. 2 visits so that is $20 for me. As I was checking out, I asked why the fee? (other places arent doing this) Was told stylists are losing 15 mins every hour for extra cleaning between clients. Huh? You mean the 3 squirts of cleaning solution on the chair and the 10 second wipe down? Having arrived early, I saw the cleaning action from the client who left the chair before me. Like I said, 3 squirts of cleaning solution and a 10 second wipe down which probably should have been happening even before Covid. $10 extra fee seems like a racket to me- and on top of their already high prices, its a real turn off. Seems counterintuitive to invoke cleaning fees when I witnessed a stylists significant other (or son) enter and walk around the salon barefoot with a dog! Dog was walking freely in the salon. The stylist held the dog- not even sure she washed her hands before returning to clients hair. I love dogs, but do I want a dog jumping up on me/my chair when I am having my hair done? No, I dont.

The ladies here are very helpful and professional. I have had services with Alicja and Jamie (cut/color), and while it is sometimes challenging to work two professionals into one visit, it is well worth it. Sometimes I will have a trim done on one day and a color on another which is awesome for me because I have long, thick hair, and they both do a much better blowout than I do! They are personable without being overly chatty. I cant always articulate exactly what Im looking for, but they go the extra mile to understand. I have also had my brows waxed by Amy who challenged what I thought I knew about my skin. I always thought I had oily skin, turns out I was stripping my natural oils off, and my skin was producing excess oil to compensate. She recommended a new face wash, and I fell in love with it and how my skin feels. I was impressed!

Best haircut I’ve ever had. When I am in Maine this is where I go. They really listen to you and give you the best cut for the shape of your face!!!! Highly recommend

Ive been once to get my hair cut and it was great. My appointment was with Julie. She did exactly what I wanted.Bonus, the space is beautiful. I loved being able to look out onto Maine St in Biddeford while my hair was being cut. It was a nice change from the usual wall or mirror view you get at most salons :)

Went to get my way too long hair styled. The consultation was great. My stylist took what I said I wanted to have done and made it into a wonderful hairstyle. I now love my hair again.

After being with the same hair dresser for over 10years having to find a new one seemed impossible, after not getting a haircut in over 2 years I was way over due, I googled hair salons near me called Tulu Salon and Spa that thankfully had an opening that day and I have most definitely found my new hair salon! I am so happy with the amazing job she did with my hair, and looking forward to many more experiences!

I went to this salon, they are so miserable, they missed up my hair; basically damaged my hair, they pretended to act nice, professional, and caring, it is all fake, they only care about getting your money, they did not work with me to solve their cheapest products that were used on my hair, refused to return money and refused to re do my hair, they are the worse salon I ever went to, I am very disappointed from them and will never go back to this salon. Save your money and go to a different salon, never go to this salon, it is bad, bad, bad...

For Mothers Day my husband gave me a gift certificate to Tulu Salon. I chose to get a spa mani/pedi. The salon is a bright, beautiful space on the second floor of a renovated mill. Upon arriving I was warmly greeted, offered a drink (water, tea, coffee), and then taken back to the pedicure station. The salon is immaculate and very comfortable! Anna did a fantastic job with my nails (and was gracious enough to redo a nail when I ruined it getting in my car!). I would highly recommend Tulu and will definitely be bringing my sister there for a girls day soon!

Tulu Salon had threading me to delete my review on google, it is my right to post what I had experienced from them as being a customer to their salon, they have mistreated me and were very racist, beside all that they had sent me an email threatening me to delete my post review, they are the worse salon I ever went to, they have this habit of acting professional and loving to customers but it is all fake, they say they want the customers happy and satisfied about their service, they damaged my hair using cheapest product on my hair, they fabricated things on me claiming I am not a good person to defend their side and claimed to the bank as well, they told the bank to redo my hair and when I contacted them; they refused to redo my hair; they are liers, they had manipulated me, Tulu Salon and spa all was very racism. In addition, they would take pictures of my posts review and send them to bank to represent me as the worse, they have mistreated me so bad and I am very disappointed from them, their manager, and their cheap service, all they care about is their money and nothing related to customer satisfaction; believe me is is all acting that you see and I will never go to this salon ever-it is the worse salon ever- very RACIST.At first you did not say it was my right to post bad review about tulu salon and you send me a threatening email to delete them. Now you know I am going to say something about it to the public and now you are saying it is my right. I did not use false identity on google or facebook, that is a prejury and false claim about me. Whats more is that you keep attacking me who I was a customer of yours that you have mistreated and were very racist, you dont want to loose your other customers thats why you are talking bad about me and abusing me. Loved the experience at Tulus.....had a facial...then makeup applied...then a pedicure...with excellent results and quality professionals!! The atmosphere is friendly and laid back in a really cool salon. A definate 5 stars!!!

A hidden gem! Im in love! The space is simply beautiful, located in the restored Pepperell Mill Building. One can truly feel the difference in energy when walking into this salon. Sara greets you with the warmest smile as she gets you all settled in. Ceili is a color goddess and has an incredible intuition for knowing the look youre trying to achieve. [Seriously, nobody will ever touch my highlights again]. And Alicja freshened my cut up exactly how I wanted. I can honestly say Ive never felt so comfortable in a salon. Not only is the team incredibly talented, theyre happy to be there and that resonates in the good vibes and impeccable hospitality at Tulu! Ditch your Portland haircut and head to Biddeford; where theres actually free parking - and a brewery next door!
