OMG! I Could not be happier with La Tutors. My daughter 10 is applying to a very competitive school that requires SSAT. I searched for the best tutors I could find and found LA Tutors through google. I liked what I saw in their website and the quality of the tutors. I called them and talked to Eric, Program Director. He took the time to explain to me the plan. We only had 3 months to prepare but I felt confident that they could help. I was assigned the most amazing tutor, Theo. My daughter loved having her tutor sessions with him. When we started working, she tested very low in math.(6th percentile). After 3 months of work with Theo (2 hours per week), she did her first official test and improved to 20%. We extended the tutoring and increased it to 3 times per week (2 hours each session) during the Xmas holidays. A month later, she did her 2nd official test and her math increased to 61 percentile. Her verbal scores increased too. I am going to continue working with them throughout the year to get my daughter super strong and confident for her new school. Thanks Eric and Theo.

This was actually our third time using LA Tutors, with two kids over two tests [the lower and upper ISEE.] I wouldnt go anywhere else.For one, I appreciate that Eric always suggests a reasonable tutoring package, given our budget and how my kids performed on the diagnostic. Hes also very good about matching each child with the right tutor for their sensibility and interests. Since my kids personally liked their tutor, the sessions [and the time leading up to them] were stress-free.My older son just took the upper ISEE and scored a 9 in his toughest subject [he scored a 2-3 statine in the diagnostic]. So we were thrilled with LA Tutors results.

We had a great experience using LA tutors services helping our son prepare for the ISEE test. Arash, the executive director of the center, is extremely professional and highly experienced. Importantly, he works hard to match each student with the appropriate tutor to ensure a strong student-tutor connection, which in turn help enabling the student to learn new concepts and make quick progress. Jenny, the coordinator for the onsite practice tests at their center, was also wonderful and very flexible to accommodate our schedule. After administering a diagnostic test at their center, Arash carefully evaluated our son’s performance and he customized a study program within the timeframe that best suited our family and our application deadlines. He explained clearly their strategies and our option plans to improve our son test’s scores. Arash paired our son with Nati, an amazing tutor, who was able to stimulate and motivate him to push his boundaries at each of the sessions. Our son was always looking forward for his classes with Nati. He wished he could have continued to work with her even after he finished his program. Without a doubt, Nati’s educational skills helped our son improve his test taking skills and achieve great results within a very short amount of time. Our daughter worked with Sophia for 2 months to prepare for the Upper Level ISEE and raised her scores significantly from her initial assessment test. They offered an extremely comprehensive and personalized program, identifying her weaknesses, and working with her to develop and strengthen her skills. I came to LA Tutors 123 to improve my CSET life science/ biology scores. This company paired me with a biology professor, so needless to say she was extremely knowledgeable of the subject. She worked around my schedule and we were able to start immediately. She gave me tips to help with test anxiety and came to each session with a lesson plan specific for my needs. After just three sessions, I passed the cset and received the highest marks possible on all of my essays (which was the area I had been struggling with). I hired LA Tutors to pass my Math CSETs because another company I worked with did not help enough. For my CSET I, I had less than two weeks, and I felt so underprepared even after studying for a month with another company. LA Tutors stepped in, and provided resources and expertise that gave me so much confidence I passed on my first try. The tuition fees look higher at face value, but my tutor spent a lot of time prepping ahead of time, grading my practice work, and sending me resources via email to ensure that every minute of our face-to-face was impactful. She even sends extra notes in pdf format so that its readable and printable. In the end, LA Tutors is the better investment. I passed all my CSETs on the first try. Highly highly recommend.

After taking the CSET Multiple Subject tests 3 times and not passing subtest I & II, I decided to seek professional assistance and contacted LA Tutors to prepare me for the 4th time. The office staff Eric and Arash very super helpful and answered all my questions. They assigned Anthony to me for subtest I and Wendy for subtest II. Both of my tutors were very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to work with my busy schedule. They taught me strategies for the Multiple-Choice questions and also covered the Constructed-Response sections thoroughly. I was given a couple of full-length practice tests by the office after a month of tutoring in which I was able to pass both subtests. Im very excited that I received my official scores a few days ago and I FINALLY PASSED both subtests. Id highly recommend LA Tutors for anyone preparing for CSET.

My math challenged kid had already failed algebra 3x in regular high school. We were a bit desperate to figure out how to get him to pass the math portion of the CHSPE (he does well in english on his own). In doing research for a math tutor, I talked to LA Tutors and could tell they have a lot of experience and knowledge about the CHSPE. My son worked with one of their tutors for 2 months. The tutor was mature, focused and explained things in a way my kid understood. Just today we found out he PASSED the CHSPE. High school (and math!) are finally behind him.
