Glen Echo Hardware is my first stop for anything related to hardware, yard maintenance, or repairs. Its a physically small store but, rather amazingly, they have almost everything you need. Best of all, the staff gets you in and out fast (compare this to lousy Home Depot) and makes sure you get what you need (again, Home Depot is full of know nothings vs. Glen Echo Hardware staff who are very knowledgeable). BTW, Glen Echo has mulch, wood chips, bags of rocks for hard scaping, and propane tanks -- although they could do a better job advertising that they have these much needed items! I am SO glad they are here in the Cabin John/Glen Echo neighborhood (so I dont have to go you know where).

My dad and I were just discussing great hardware stores and we were talking about Glen Echo Hardware and what a fantastic store it is. I said, I hope they survived covid. I checked Google and was happy to see that theyre still there. Living in The Palisades in DC, this was always my go-to for all things hardware. The staff could always answer my questions and help me out.When my dad was in town, we inevitably would end up making a trip there for something. I think my dad just liked going there because it reminds him of good old fashioned hardware stores. Great place!!!

Ive been a longtime customer of Christophers Glen Echo Hardware. Its a wonderful store. Their selection is good, and staff members are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.I usually deal with Kevin in the paint department. Kevin is exceptionally good-natured and helpful with customers. He makes it fun to go to the hardware store.Kevin has matched other paint brands colors perfectly for me in Benjamin Moore. He has helped me choose colors, type of paint, brushes and tools. He has saved me time by just telling me what I need to buy--no fuss, no sales pitch.Of all the paint projects Ive done, Kevin has never steered me wrong.Frank and Brian are also excellent in the paint department. Franks advice and color matching helped me dig out of a paint disaster once.And Brian dreamt up a Benjamin Moore water-based match for another brands oil-based paint. It worked perfectly.Steve has cut lumber for me, and once delivered a grill for me on his own time.Names I havent mentioned here are because I cannot remember them right now. But the staff at Glen Echo Hardware is outstanding. I love going in there.

The guy at the front registers gave me some very good money saving advice. He spared my boss from wasting money repairing his old circular saw.While a new one wouldve cost a small amount more than the repairs, the new one will last longer and itll have a longer warranty.Thanks.

Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Right when you enter the store you are greeted by employees ready to help you. With the wide selection they have I dont know why youd go anywhere else!

Classic old-school hardware store. Lots of stuff (that really is hardware; go elsewhere for lampshades except if you like nice aluminum ones to go with work lights.) Staff are knowledgeable (helping you avoid expensive mistakes) and friendly.

I love to come here because the staff is so helpful with advice for home projects. They are also well-stacked with quality products that they know well.

Worst quality parts ever, i bought screws to put on my license plate and they got stripped the first time i tried screwing them in. Absolutely awful
