When we bought our house on Augusta Lane, a big selling point was the proximity of the Glen Echo Fire Department. That was in 1971 now forty-three years later we had to call on the services of the Fire Department. This morning, I was putting out the trash and slipped and fell on wet paving stones. I was not hurt, other than my pride! However, such was the location I fell in and the fact that the stones were very slippery, that I simply could not get myself up. My wife, was unable ti right me and called the Fire Department for non-emergency help and within a very few minutes Tom and Ariel from the Glen Echo Fire Department were there to help me back on my feet.I am fortunate that, other than a couple of bruises, I was not hurt. I was also fortunate in the speedy response from the Glen Echo Fire Department and the sure hands of Tom and Ariel. To them and the Fire Department, my sincere thanks.Michael Dennison
