I love coming here to get my vehicle fixed up. Adam is always a lovely person to speak with, very knowledgeable and very helpful. I am very glad that they try to help out as best as they can with not only the prices but also if there’s other issues with my car. During fixing my brakes they said my tire was actually separating. If I wouldn’t have been told that I never would’ve known. Prices are a little bit high but I think it’s worth it for the convenience of their location as well as how fast they work.

I tried this place for the first time when I noticed my tire was losing air. They told me I had a hole and needed a new tire (mind you the tires are new, Good Year tires changed last year). I got worried and asked if I can drive the car; the mechanic told me I could as long as I filled it up with air every few days, which makes no sense..... If I had that bad of a hole that needs a tire change and cant be repaired, how come I can drive the car around? I left and after reading some reviews I realized that people at this place are dishonest and want to take advantage of you. I tried a highly recommended place on River road. They told me I had small nail and repaired it instantly. Im not one to write reviews esp. negative ones but I feel so cheated. Avoid at all costs!

Terrible customer service experience this afternoon. Brought in a tire to have a screw removed and plugged. Very simple and shouldn’t take much effort. Was grateful they could get me in late on a Saturday. Person at the counter started out nice enough, but when I did not readily have the license plate details of my wife’s car (I took the tire off her car and brought it in loose) for his records, he became rude and belligerent. Lecturing me to bring in the information next time, then becoming visibly angry. He wanted to enter the information from the vehicle I was driving — said something like CarFax required it. I declined to have the repair associated with the wrong vehicle and he couldn’t handle that. Pretty remarkable experience. I listened as the same guy try to up sell every customer in the queue about how there was some additional issue with their car than the one they came in with. Heard him tell one guy that the car really wasn’t safe to drive on the highway if the tire pressure sensor was not functioning. Be wary about this place.

I called for a battery replacement, they were going to charge me 70 dollars to change it, plus over 100 for a new battery. They also said I had to have several checks done to make sure x,y,z werent happening.I knew that is absolutely crooked, as it takes no more than 10 minutes. I went to batteries and bulbs, it cost 80 dollars for a fresh, brand name battery and replacement was free.

Unfortunately I had a really bad experience here today. Several months ago when I got my oil changed here, they left the oil cap off. It had been like that since the oil change. I rarely open my hood and know I haven’t opened it since that time. I brought my truck in today as several check engine lights came on. After their diagnosis, they mentioned the oil cap that had been left off and discussed the damage that this had caused as oil had leaked everywhere inside the engine. The breakdown of issues includes:1. Full clean of engine2. New alternator3. New serpentine belt4. New oil changeNote: all this damage and replacement was due to the leaking oil. After they discussed the cost and I mentioned they were the ones who changed the oil and were last under my hood, they practically called me a liar. They were able to confirm that they did in fact perform the last change, however continued to say “it is physically impossible for something worse not to happen if the cap was left off”. Several times they repeated this as I told them I had not touched anything. Not stop nagging. I ended up paying about $1000 for all the work to be done and all they offered to include was the engine clean! I will never go back to this place and don’t recommend it for anyone else. They will not accept responsibility for their actions.

I recently visited for what I thought would a simple and quick tire repair as my low-pressure tire indicator light had turned on. In order to perform an inspection and repair they needed my car for most of the day. I received a call in the afternoon that the tire would need replaced and when I picked up my car the same evening, they said everything was good to go…Literally the next morning after the repair, and after spending nearly $200 on a new tire and (in my opinion overpriced) labor, the low-pressure indicator light turned again! I was able to quickly determine that the same tire was somehow leaking again! I took it back, suspecting that there had to be something wrong with the installation. I was NOT shocked at all when they realized that a sensor seal was not installed properly. What I don’t understand is how they could let a customer leave there the day before without adequately checking these things and I can not imagine this is the first time that they have installed a tire on this car model and make. This was a complete waste of time.I would say the only positive is that the front desk serviceman, Steve, has a great attitude and is very kind. Overall though, I will definitely not be coming back here. I need a tire shop that is competent at repairing and installing tires.

Tried to make online appointment. Didnt work. Showed up for oil change. They were too busy and recommended appointment. Made one there for the next day. Showed up and they couldnt find it and were too busy again. Absolutely disinterested guys working the front desk. Went to Merchants. No problem. Dropped off and done in 2 hours without appointment. Better choice.

Friendly staff who recommended I get my brakes flushed in addition to my oil change , which seems warranted considering it hadnt been changed in 5 years. Very satisfied with the experience and I will return. The new management is doing very well.

I had a flat tire and made an appointment online and they called me within a few minutes. The guy on the phone (Adam I think) went on to tell me my selected appointment time wouldnt work for them, yea it doesnt really work for our schedule to drop off your car and wait. Understandably they had a lot of cars to fix but when I ask if tomorrow in the afternoon works either he says, its still really inconvenient for us. Well Ill take my inconvenient business elsewhere. Went to Mr. Tire and got my flat tire fixed for less than what Midas would have charged.

Ive been going to the Midas shop in Bethesda for several years now. Theyve worked on every car Ive owned - from Hyundai to HUMMER (even my ex-wifes Volvo and Saab) - since I found their shop on Cheltenham. Never once have I had a bad experience as mentioned in some other reviews. The staff seems experienced and knowledgeable and their customer service is A+ in my opinion.More than once Ive gotten a call from them the day after a repair just to check in to see how everything was and that I was satisfied with the work. Ive even received a random call or two out of the blue just to thank me for my frequent business. Ive never experienced that level of service, follow-up, and appreciation from any other shop or dealership.I would encourage anyone to use this location for their auto repair and maintenance (and do quite frequently); especially if you live or work in downtown Bethesda. I just drop my car off in the morning, walk to the office, and pick it up at the end of the day. Speaking from my own personal experience, theyve never missed a beat...my vehicle is always ready to go as soon as I show up and the bill is always spot on with the estimate or lower.

Be very careful if you go here for an oil change. I was told by Steve that it was REQUIRED that they use a high pressure oil filter instead of a regular oil filter. I told him I wanted a normal oil filter and he told me they have to use the high pressure filter which of course, costs extra. I have had my car for 5 years and had many oil changes and have NEVER been told this. I go to other Midas locations and have never been told this. I went to my usual Midas and they said he was incorrect in telling me this. Dont let them force you to get unnecessary parts! I assume they tell people this, most people dont push back, and they make this extra money daily. Bad business!

I took my 2006 Lincoln in last fall for an oil change and inspection of belts, fluids, brakes, etc. The gentlemen who waited on me were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I waited for the service and it was completed in about 30 minutes; I had expected to be waiting longer so I was very happy about this. I asked how the inspection went and whether or not I needed a more expensive service package. The owner told me that I did not have enough miles on my car to warrant it. I appreciated his honesty and I am planning to schedule another service very soon.

I was wary of the reviews I saw here, but I gave it a shot because of the oil change special they had as well as the new management. I thought the staff was very helpful and attentive. They didnt BS on anything else my car needed. I got my car serviced in 45 min.

I never bother to write reviews, but the service here was so bad that I felt compelled. Never have I been treated so badly. Rude, careless, caviler - these are good descriptions of the staff. A simple oil change and air filter job turned into a leaky oil pan and a lecture about the dangers of not replacing pads and rotors. I asked my regular mechanic, and he said my rotors were fine and pads likely didnt need replacing for another 10k miles. Some Russian tried to claim I needed a bunch more work. How they turned an oil change into an oil leak is beyond me, but I spent a few hundred at another shop to get it fixed when Midas wouldnt take responsibility. I thought some of the reviews here and on other sites seemed extreme, and that Midas often gets a bad rap because of one or two bad actors, but now I know theyre likely true.Find another option or go to the dealer. Better to pay a little more and not be ripped off. Maybe new management hasnt gotten its feet on solid ground yet, but WOW - no way would I go back.

I got there by 9:30 AM as the manager recommended me and my service was very fast. The staff were wonderful. I will return there again with my own car and the company s car.Moyko Company

I only came here because the recent reviews said it was under new management.I called on a Wednesday afternoon trying to get same day service on an Oil Change and Breaks, they told me they wouldnt be able to get it done today and I could make an appointment for tomorrow. I came back at 7am and since I had nothing to do I planned on waiting all day. I got the oil change, and the breaks fixed in about 3 and a half hours.They did a great job, they were very informative, friendly, and helpful. I will always bring my vehicle here.

I have gone to Midas Bethesda for many years and have been consistently very satisfied. I have always been treated in a professional manner. The work done has aligned with the problems I was having. I was told which problems should receive immediate attention and which could wait. A change from a former service that seemed to push for repairs and vague about answering questions. This Midas has always been straightforward in discussion of problems, showing those areas on the vehicle itself in need of remediation.

They have had to do work on my car twice and neither time did they do an amazing job. Did my breaks and charged me 1300$ for rear brakes, rotors and calipers yet I honestly am not sure they replaced the stuff and right after my break line blew when I hit the breaks on the high way. They try to upsell on everything. Tried to sell me windshield wipers while getting breaks done and I JUST got wipers...hate this place and is always a last resort.

Had a flat tire needed a new one,they didnt have it, so asked to have a spare put on, they said they couldnt! Because they were too busy, asked to borrow a socket because mine was lost, again they said they couldnt, asked how long it would take if I left it, they said they were booked for the day, talk about good customer service right? Or give the custore options to try to help them out but non existent!! If I could give them negative 100 stars that would be too much!! Be warned stay away from this place!!

Had a horrible experience with them. just wanted to plug a small hole in my tire they said no I needed all 4 tires changed. The price for the 4 tires plus installation was about 800. Then they wanted to do every little minor fix to my car that was not needed and wanted over 1200. Went to another tire place who said the hole could be plug but I ended up getting 4 new tires since they offered a great deal. This Midas was over priced and all they want to do is add extra charges to make a profit off of you. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!! My co-workers also had bad experiences with this location.

Do not go here! I brought my vehicle In to have a tire replaced on my pick up. The tire I paid 200 dollars for brand new at my dealership was now according to them at Midas, 300 dollars. Thats not all they then proceeded to tell me that I will be paying an excise tax on the actual tire which they then said will bring the price of everything to 513.00 dollars just put one tire on! So if you are thinking about trusting the Midas touch , think again ! The guy in there just seems like a weasel and he will con you! Good luck ! Oh, and my dealership is replacing my tire right now for 197 dollars with a free alignment so thank god I didnt fall for their trap. Midas also had my truck for a whole day and a half before I had to actual call them just to find out the cost of all of this, whole day and a half wasted thanks to these con artists.

I came to this Midas a week ago seeking an oil change. Upon arrival I rolled down my window and waited for someone to direct me to the appropriate stall. One by one, four different employees came out, looked at me, and went back to what they were doing without offering assistance. Five minutes of waiting, someone approached me and told me to park my car in the lot after I said I needed an oil change. I parked and went inside to the empty waiting room and approached the desk where I told the attendant I needed an oil change. Without looking me in the eye once, he told me that an oil change would take at least two hours. I didnt stay for the oil change, it was horrible customer service. Oil changes take 10 minutes. There were no other customers in the building. The attendants attitude made me feel like I was bothering him rather than offering to pay him for a simple service.

If 0 stars was an option, that would be my review. Dropped my car off because my rear break pads were low, and wanted to get them changed quickly. About 5 hours later, they called to tell me my car was essentially never going to be able to stop again unless I paid for a $2,300 break job. They used terms that sounded bogus, so I turned them down for any service.Took the car to my local mechanic, and they said everything they told me was inaccurate. I ended up paying under $150 for my rear break pads to be replaced. NEVER GO HERE.

Pretty terrible. In the past Ive had my oil changed with them and theyve screwed up (charging me for 7 quarts of oil and only giving me 5), they quote an insane amount of work that doesnt need to be done, and they are incredibly disorganized. They once lost my key and made me wait for an hour while they had to search the whole shop (turns out one of their techs had left it in someone elses car). Unwilling to even consider a refund. Do not use this Midas, or any Midas for that matter.

I am very dissapointed in this establishment. I have been waiting over two hours and the service I asked for has not been performed. All I wanted was an oil change, and had been told that the service would be completed in 1-2 hours. Had I known that this fifteen minute service would take so long I certainly would not have agreed to the service. Came here to get a problem fixed with our car. We were told our Catalytic Converter among many other things were broken and the cost to fix everything would be $2300. Given that the car is 10 years old, $2300 costs more than what the car is worth. When asked what the cost to fix the problem we came in for we were told it would be $1100. My husband went in and let them know that we would not be getting our car fixed there, at that point they offered us a Midas Credit Card... which he politely declinedTook it to Premier Motors in Rockville and again was told the problem was the Catalytic Converter. Only this time, the same problem Midas had diagnosed cost us over $400 less.

Pricey. 2K to fix brakes, tires, and belts. 2 weeks later, one of the belts tore. They were professional and offered to fix it, if it was something on their end. Unfortunately, I live 30 miles away, and cant drive that far with a ripped belt. Didnt want to be hit with a surprise bill in case I could make it, so declined and took it somewhere local. Moving on.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! Do not bring your car here. I took my car in for an oil change when my mechanic took a vacation. Took my car to my mechanic a week later and he tells me I am 2 quarts low on oil. WHAT??? They removed my license plate light and said it was out (which it wasnt). When I told them not to replace it and leave it alone, they told me they threw the bulb away and tried to charge me $60 for a license plate bulb replacement. They break things on purpose hoping you will pay for them. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT GO HERE. SCAM ARTISTS!!!

Came in this past Saturday for a simple oil change and talked to Steve who was very nice and said they were busy and asked me to make an appointment. I made an appointment for 8 am on Tuesday. Brought my car in at the appointed time. Didnt hear anything by 5 pm, so I called and they said they were just about to get to it. Waited in their lobby from 6 - 7 pm only to learn they werent going to get to it today. Whats the point of making an appointment if theyre not going to honor it? And 11 hours for an oil change? Ridiculous, will never go back.

I took my car in a few months ago and pretty much got gypped by the person who works there (whose name escapes me). He told me that the car needed an oil change and said he couldnt fix the brakes without special screws which he charged me extra for. He also said that the car had a leak and that I had to remove everything. My car seemed no different following that visit and my brakes still didnt seem to work that well. I took my car to a different mechanic a couple of days ago and the mechanic had to change the oil again because apparently the person at Midas did not do a proper oil change. He also changed the brakes and did not need any sort of special screws to fix the brakes. I did not realize this initially but the person at Midas pretty much charged me for all these changes made and did not complete any of the services. I am very unhappy with your company.

Its very aggravating when you call ahead and ask when can i come in? They give you a time and you show up and they have no clue you made an appointment. Okay so whatever they work with you and take your car for the whole day and then DONT EVEN LOOK AT IT. And they want you to come another day. I cant just keep walking into town to deal with unprofessionalism. I am going on a trip and needed those brake pads. King midas, ya done let me down. They claim some bogus excuse and acted extremely unprofessional. Didnt even call to let me know that they wouldnt look at my car dont go to the shop. So unprofessiinal.

Go Elsewhere! They dropped my car from a hydraulic lift, lied about it, took the car without authorization to a third party shop, and refused to disclose the location. I finally found the car in pieces. They finally contacted their insurance company, who totaled the car. Steve Hackett, the owner, perpetrated these lies, which can be confirmed by the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection, the Maryland Secretary of States office and the BBB.One of the managers, a man named Matthew (last name not provided, though he told me his name was John Smith), threatened to lie about the events should I bring suit or further complaint, effectively perjuring himself to cover for his boss and colleagues.I urge anyone considering using Midas to seek alternatives, or at the very least, to inquire with county and state authorities about myriad complaints received. Moreover this is a franchise operation and Midas corporate will be of no help. An interesting post script - the work they did to the car was done improperly, and only after they damaged it and attempted to cover it up. This was verified by an independent adjuster.
