Dr. Benson is horribly rude, I spoke to him over the phone, and right off the bat, he yelled at me and gave me a horrible attitude. I have just came back from the ER after 2 weeks and I feel very weak. I’m very soft spoken at the moment due to my weakness and he didn’t care what I had to say for a second, he kept on yellling and and disrespecting me over the phone and it is tough for me to drive to the office at this moment and he continued to bash me and disrespect my condition. I would NEVER recommend this Dr. to anyone who actually needs care. He insulted me multiple times, and didn’t let me speak. I’ve never been more frustrated with such disrespect and ignorance! 0/10 Dr.

I have health conditions needed attention urgently, and was not able to get appointment on urgent basis from my specialty doctor last month,one of Oakland county Southfield location nurse helped me get appointment in less than 3 hours with Dr Paul Benson’s office.I visited before time and was attended by front desk, nurses and in no time Dr Paul Benson came in examination room,and spoken with my PCP Dr Ahad Duraid again an excellent physician in Troy area, found out my health history, medications and given instructions for taking care going forward. Surprisingly, he gave me samples of much needed very, very expensive prescription without any charges immediately. I was touched by promptness, genuine care and immediate support. I very highly,recommend Dr Paul Benson.

I dont know what these 1 star reviews are talking about, Ive only had the best experience with Dr. Benson and his Physician Assistant. Theyre nice, understanding, and have been a great source for help during the pandemic.

Terrible bedside manner. I went to this office for several years and saw his physician assistants. Dr. Benson’s rude, condescending, and unprofessional conduct the one time I needed his assistance ultimately drove me away. Look elsewhere for quality, compassionate care. That is not what you will find here.

All of the staff at Be Well are extremely friendly and welcoming!I have never felt more comfortable at a doctors office as I do here. Baxter is the resident golden retriever here and he is a joy to have in the office.

I came for a check up and was very impressed at how nice everyone was. I went cause a relative told me it was a good doctors office. I would recommend this office .Everything was handled very professionally and the nurse Lee was very kind A very good experience

I have found Dr. Benson AND the entire staff to be professional, caring and actively engaged in my medical care and health maintenance. Having been a patient for many years, I am delighted with new facilities. Dr. Benson and Dr. Flores both give direct personal attention to my concerns. I never have to wait for an appointment. I get seen on time every time. They accommodate my schedule. Allowing me to make installment payments is crucial - or I would not be able to get medical care at all. I trust Dr. Benson to maintain my privacy and to fully address whatever I bring up. Everyone who works there has a good sense of humor and a caring, competent demeanor. I recommend Dr. Bensons office to my friends.

Dr. Benson himself is GREAT. This review is for the PA who works in his office, Kaitlyn Seltzer. I went to her about an issue I have been dealing with for months. My anxiety regarding this issue was very high, however, I decided to bite the bullet and get the opinion of a medical professional. Kaitlyn brushed my concerns off immediately, claiming that the issue was caused by two of my body parts rubbing against one another. Mind you, these body parts dont completely reach each other, let alone touch. When I explained to her that this could not possibly be the case, she rolled her eyes and asked How do you know?. When I explained that I know my own body, she told me that she could not help me, because I obviously dont want any help. She refused to listen, was condescending, smug, and ultimately walked out of the room we were in.I made my way to the front desk, wondering if I should have to pay for a visit in which I was told that she could not help me, and overheard her discussing my private health information with Dr. Benson so loud that I could hear her all the way at the reception desk (this is a HIPAA violation). Dr. Benson invited me into his office, took one look at the issue I was experiencing, and was able to make the determination that I need to see a specialist.I have been coming to this office for years, my son has also been seen by this office for years, and I have never experienced anything like this. Kaitlyn was smug, condescending, and incredibly flippant about an issue that I was noticeably scared about. Dr. Benson apologized to me for her rude behavior, however, she did not apologize whatsoever. As I left the office, she handed me a card for the specialist, to which I said Thank you. She didnt acknowledge my thanks at all, and walked away without saying a word. I recommend this office, however, I strongly advise that you steer away from the extremely arrogant Kaitlyn Seltzer.

So, like everyone, I dont like going to the Doctor. There is always something going on that isnt always easy to talk about to a stranger even though you know they are there to help. That was not the case with Dr. Benson. It was nice to see a doctor that was easy to talk to and wanted to use his knowledge to help keep me well. I dont see a Dr. often but it is good to know that I have someone Im comfortable with to address all my heath issues and concerns. I cannot say enough how great this experience was.Having a lab and a pharmacy right on site was an added bonus.

Dr. Benson is, of course, highly professional as most doctors; yet he has the added dimension of being personally very concerned for my optimal health and communicating that directly to me, and acting accordingly. For example, the other day I told Dr. Benson that I had read news reports of a study that had been done on a particular health condition, and he asked me to email him the study. I did and he personally responded by email within 24 hours that he would read the study and get back to me. He didnt just dismiss it out of hand, but evidenced open-mindedness about my research and thoughts.Once I called the office with some symptoms following a new prescription and they put the doctor on the line!! He was concerned and had me worked in the very next morning.NOW THIS IS HUGE:Dr. Bensons office is very respectful of my time; and concerned that patients NOT have a long wait, in fact he mentioned it to his staff the one time I did have a wait. e. I find physicians offices very offensive when Im called to an appointment for a specific time and then I have to sit in a waiting room for 45 minutes to an hour as so often happens in every other office Ive ever visited. That just doesnt happen here. I wait perhaps 5 minutes before they whisk me back to a treatment room.And Dr. Benson is personally invested in this courtesy. The one time I had to wait he personally mentioned it to his staff in front of me. I was amazed that he was so aware and so committed to my concerns and respectful of my time.Dr. Bensons staff are all very friendly and respectful both on the phone and in person. I have experienced just the opposite in so many doctors offices that the culture here is so friendly and pleasant as to be surprising.

I have been going to Dr. Paul Benson, DO for over 32 years, and wanted to express my experience. It has always been my thought, when going to a Doctor, there should be consistence process. In my years of going to the Be Well Medical Center, the staff, from the front desk, nursing checking you in and all the doctors have been very professional.When seeing the Doctors employed at Dr. Paul Bensons office they have always been willing to listen to the symptom of the problem to ensure the proper test are done to understand how to solve the problem. Zero stars would suit much better. One of the most rude, condescending doctors Ive had the unfortunate joy of speaking with. Incredibly abrasive and clearing values himself and his time far above anyone else, including his own patients and fellow medical staff. Extremely egotistical, arrogant, and self centered and gives a bad name to the nice, kind, decent MDs that are actually grateful to have the job and life they have instead of belittling and demeaning people like their insignificant. Probably nothing more aggravating to deal with then someone who obviously believes they are far better and above everyone else. PS, your not special and get over yourself....

I chose Dr. Benson as my PCP because of his professionalism, medical knowledge, efficiency and kind heart! Ive always been treated with respect and consideration and even in a pinch, his staff gets back with me in a timely manner. Dr. Benson and Caleb treat me like a human being, not just a number or a pay check. They dont just send me out to a specialist or write a prescription to get me in and out the door. They talk to me and ask questions about whats going on with me and actually listen to what I have to say. I may not like what the feedback I receive, but because of the way Dr. Benson and Caleb deliver the message that they care I listen because I trust in their knowledge, which is not a compliment that I can give just anyone in todays medical industry as I work in it!!! Dr. Benson has been our family doctor for about five years and we have been extremely happy with our choice to be patients at the Be Well Medical Center. The staff is always professional and warm, the waiting room (which you do not spend much time in) is clean, spacious, and pleasing (with large, engaging photos of Detroit landmarks), the examination rooms are also clean and up-to-date. Dr. Benson is caring, thorough and wonderful, and when referring us to another medical specialists, they have also been top-notch. We recently started taking our 88-year-old mom there, and he is great with her, too. I also love the skincare clinic, having a lab and pharmacy onsite. I never forget an appointment because their system to notify and remind you via your choice of email, text, calls, etc. if just what I need. And I can always access my history and personal info via a secure, private portal that Dr. Benson provides to his patients. He is an all-around great family doctor.

I recently relocated to the Detroit area after 36 years in New York city. Glad to be home. And especially glad to have been referred to Dr. Paul Benson and Dr. Caleb at BeWell Clinic. Wonderful! I was seen by Dr. Caleb first who was friendly, knowledgeable and who provided me with great information about new drugs being released to treat HIV / AIDS, of which I am a long-term survivor. Then Dr. Benson came in (with the sweetest dog in the world, Baxter), to introduce himself and welcome me to the BeWell Clinic. An all around great experience. I look forward to a long and beneficial relationship with this excellent clinic and these wonderful doctors. They have treated HIV / AIDS for many years but, this is a full-service clinic offering excellent primary care. Give them a try. Highly recommended.Carl George

Awful doctor, the worst I have EVER seen!! Benson was beyond rude. I asked a question and he started to yell at me. Not only is the man brash, but hes also incompetent; I have never been to a worse doctor. His medical advice landed me in the hospital for a week. I could go on, but theres only so many ways to spin it. This guy is an absolute and total quack. I wouldnt recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Benson was very easy to speak with during my thorough physical. He carefully answered various health questions I had and was quite friendly. His staff is also very pleasant.

I have been going to Dr. Benson for over 7 years now and i can say that I have never been more comfortable in a doctors office. They are very professional and respectful. I would recommend him and his staff 100% and attend no where else.

Most amazing doctors office I have been to. Hasnt been over booked. No serious wait. Doctors are personable and professional. There is an on sight therapy dog most days. However secretaries and staff are unreliable, have messed up scheduled appointments, neglected to send in important paperwork, etc. Definitely have to give them an extra heads up about everything.

I would give him 0 star if it was an option. He never shows up at his appointment. he is greedy and all he cares about is $$$$. If you ask him a simple medical question on phone, he will make you to go to his office and pay for his visit without doing anything. Horrible Service!

I have been a patient of Dr. Benson for many years. I have always been happy with him and the staff.My Mother, on the other hand, lives in a very rural area where she wasnt receiving the kind of care she needed. She had struggled with Diabetes for years, and I watched as her weight went up, and her health went down. Her Doctor at the time only wanted to prescribe her pills for what ailed her. My Mother was also was having problems with her legs and constantly getting sores. When they finally diagnosed her with Lymphedema, I knew I had to get her to a Doctor that would be able to help her get the care she needed.When I took her to Dr. Benson, he immediately worked at getting her meds under control. He looked at what she was on. As a result, he took her off some, replacing them if needed and lowered the dosage if required. When it came to her care, if he felt she needed someone more specialized, he referred us to a doctor that could meet her needs.When I brought her to Doctor Benson, my Mother weighed 268 lbs., and wasnt very mobile. Today, thanks to the care she has received from Doctor Benson, my Mother weighs in at 192, she walks daily, and I feel like I have my Mom back.My Mom and I love Doctor Benson and all the staff at Be Well Medical Center!

This place is not very discreet... Dont be surprised of who you may run into. Also staff is too involved. You really have no privacy!

Awful service,I drive around two hours to come to this clinic to be treated with zero respect. I called them a few times for the person answering to be rude with me when all I was doing was asking a question. Amber I believe her name is. I asked her about my P.A that she told me to call me back and she got rude and said I dont know why I would be calling you back when I stated who I was she said oh wrong person. My insurance company and I have made multiple phone calls And still havent gotten no where. I am now behind on my prescription and they do not seem to care. I have been going here since April 2016 and now I am looking for a new doctor office. They do not care about their patients.

Very caring and friendly by all accounts

I did not actually see Dr. Benson as I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was very rude and not accommodating. Having worked seven years as a medical receptionist, I know the processes of making an appointment and insurance protocols. This happens too often in medical offices, and is a huge disappointment.

Had to wrestle with insurance for months. But Sophia was an outstanding patient advocate, and helped me with my case the whole time. Shes my personal hero
