Awesome service, super quick.This was really different than the usual tire service, they gave me a good price over the phone, did not tag on any extra charges, and I didn’t even need an appointment. They were done by the time I finished shopping across the street at acme.

These guys are very nice and helpful. Came in with a slowly leaking tire. They didnt find any leak on the tire itself. So just in case, they replaced my valve FOR FREE! The entire process was very quick and smooth. Id definitely come back for other services.

Came in to get new brake pads. So happy I did. Its rare to find a place that values customer relationships more than the singular sale. These folks are open, honest and reliable. Rather than be pushy and try and charge as much as possible they engaged me in a conversation about my options and made a new loyal customer in the process. I 100% recommend them.

These guys truly went so far above and beyond. Couldnt give a stronger recommendation for a tire shop (or really any type of business). They clearly cared more about giving me great service than how much they were making.I had been calling and going to tire shops for a couple or weeks trying to find a good set of tires for a decent price and having no luck. Most of the shops I went to didnt seem very trust worthy and were continuously trying to sell me on tires that were either way too expensive or very wrong for my needs. I was on my way to another tire shop and when I drove past universal tires and decided to stop in.Immediatly they seemed trustworthy and I felt comfortable. They didnt have any new tires in my size at the time, so I checked out what the had used. They found four tires for me that were in good shape and are good quality tires that were just what I needed. All four tires mounted and balanced cost barely more than what some shops were quoting me for one tire.And beyond the great deal, they were super friendly and really helpful. I mentioned that I didnt have the security key for my lug nuts, but they said it wouldnt be an issue for them. And then they gave me a security key they had for free. And while they were putting on my tires they noticed my tailpipe was hanging real low. It was my next chore for the day to try and fix it, but without even asking they got it wired up better than I could have.Seriously, if youre in the East Bay and need tires, look no further.

Awesome service. Easy and straight to the point. The guys here were very friendly and they managed to fix a nail I had on my car in less than 10 min. I would definitely come back if I need to pick up new tires or another patch. Complementary coffee and small cozy room while you wait for your vehicle. If you are a Berkeley resident or needing a quick patch, this place should be your first and only stop.

Great experience. The owner, Daniel, is super friendly and down to earth. He has already done the research for the best value / performance tires and thats what he stocks (car tires are a hard category to shop). He was able to squeeze me in on a Holiday weekend - saving me from a weekend of ubering. He was super fast, too - changing all of my tires in about half an hour. He also offered to rotate them for free me once they start to wear. I really appreciate him making the purchase of new car tires (something I do about once a decade) so easy and effortless. Thanks!

Universal Tires is a new business working hard to build a good reputation. There is usually no wait to get service. Their shop equipment is all new including speed tire balance and a new state of the art wheel alignment station. The people are nice and prices low. Support local independent shops where you are appreciated and remembered.

Fast and professional service! I assume its a one man operation but, the quality of work done is excellent. Ive been there twice so far both for damaged tires. Both tasks per visit was accomplished within 15 mins each.

Referred to universal by my buddy roger, got there at 5:20pm. Had some 20inch rims re balanced and put on my truck by Daniel. Was done in about 25mins. At a great great price. MUST READ! BEST PLACE EVER! I’m am writing the review as I’m getting help because I’m so amazed and thankful that I found this place! I got a flat running over a pot hole and I use my car for work. I called everyone I could find on google even my own insurance company and no help everything was too expensive and I just don’t have the money for it at the moment. I call this place, and WOW! Not only is the used tire cheap but they offered to come to me! And change the tire for me where I am. So this guy pulls up and takes off the tire and then goes back to the shop gets the one I need and comes back to put it on my car! And the total of that was SUPER CHEAP! When I told them “wow that’s amazing that’s it?” they responded “well we are just trying to help you out” omg 🙌🏽 I appreciate all who work here! So helpful and nice. These are people who really care about the customers. I truly appreciate you guys and can’t tell you enoug how grateful I am. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
