Just moved to the area from California. I had a hard time trying to find a vet for my pup. After searching, I was fortunate to find BH Animal Hospital. The staff attention and friendliness is second to none. The prices are reasonable and the most important thing is that they honestly care about your pet. My dog still gets excited on every visit. Highly recommended.

I brought my puppy Marlie for her first wellness check, it was also my first time at Berkeley Heights animal hospital and it was the best decision! They treated Marlie so well, handled her with so much care. They were very responsive regarding all my questions and concerns. They truly love what they do, and it shows! I’ve been using Berkeley Heights Animal Hospital for our beagles for almost 20 years. They provide first rate medical care, are excellent in every respect, caring, compassionate and friendly.

I have nothing but the best to say about Berkeley Heights Animal Hospital. My family has been coming here for 25 years and we can honestly say we have never had a bad experience. The doctors are so professional and kind when it comes to asking questions (even my dumb ones!) and just providing more insight in regards to my dogs overall well being. I have had emergencies over the years with my dogs and they were always available to help and fix the issue! You can tell they care about their clients and they are worth me traveling to them for my pups! Highly recommend!

This is a good vet if your pet never has any problems or emergencies. Both my sister and I have had emergencies with our dogs and were turned away while they were open and told to go to a 24 hour clinic over an hour away with our dog. There is no point in having your dog be a patient of this office. They will not even attempt to make an effort to see your dog in the case of an emergency so you should find a vet that will actually see your dog when you have problems. Avoid if you are looking for a friendly family vet that you can rely on. This is a terrible standard of care. I could understand if this vet has never seen my dog before but we go yearly for annual visits and vaccines. I am a dentist and would never turn away an existing patient with an emergency. I would recommend finding a vet that cares enough to get your dog in when you actually need them.

Berkeley Heights Animal Hospital is an excellent place to take your pet for any of their medical needs. The vet technician, Jen, is awesome! I called early in the morning to schedule a nail trim for my 11 year old Lhaso Apso and she helped me get set up. It is the personal interactions with staff members like Jen who make any visit efficient and carefree.

We just moved nearby and needed a vet for our dog. Making an appointment over the phone was quick and easy. We saw Dr. Seltzer and she was very pleasant. The staff were very courteous and they had really good COVID precautions in place. Reasonable prices and a thorough annual check up for our dog.

The staff was helpful however the online offer for first time patients is incorrect. The initial well visit was not free. I’ve been trying to contact someone in the office about this for over a week. Since only one person was allowed my teenage daughter went in and paid a ridiculous amount for an initial Guinea pig visit

I have Portuguese Water Dog. I bring in for all annual visits and shots and its been treated for yeast in ears in past. I asked for ear drop refill and wouldnt give unless dog seen. Absolutely rediculous since I can clearly smell its yeast. I will find a new vet. They obviously just want their money.

I could not be happier with my visit today! My dog has anxiety around its nails being cut and had run into several issues with other vets (MH in NP). From my initial call BH animal hospital was caring, supportive, and a pleasure to work with. They were prompt for my appointment (unlike other vets) and were able to get the job done when several others had failed. Right after I left, I called my old Vet to get my pets records sent directly to BH Animal Hospital. I plan to use them moving forward. Thank you!

Our cat needed surgery today to fix her paw after having been injured earlier in the week. We have been taking her to Berkeley Heights Animal Hospital nearly since her birth, and I always felt she (and our other cat and our puppy) is in good hands there. They are courteous, helpful, loving toward our pets and reliable. We are very happy there!

We were recommended this location by 2 previous dog owners, separately. The staff have been helpful, friendly and very informative. We decided to get their puppy package which is a great deal. We purposely drive 35 minutes to this location but we don’t mind because we know we will be met in a timely fashion and with great service.

I was surprised when I brought my dog in for her scheduled physical tonight, after having positive experiences before! She was due for her exam and two shots! An attendant came and got my dog, asked a few questions and said that after the exam, the doctor would either come out to speak with me or call, this time she did neither, instead some assistant came out to bully, insult and upset me. Telling me I should consider giving away my dog who having her euthanized if I wasn’t going to treat her..I was really taken back by the unprofessionalism displayed. i had previously spoke with doctor twice and bough medicine and food there as recommended. I am a nice considerate person and was treated very unprofessionally and would never speak to anyone like that!

The whole staff at Berkeley Heights Animal Hospital continue to exceed my expectations in terms of care, communication, and courtesy (what I call my 3 Cs!!!) The past year has been tough on all of us, but they go above and beyond in not only making my little Carter feel like a KING, but also talking me through appointment protocols, details of treatment, and overall dealing with my crazy anxiety over my little guy. I drive over 40 minutes to get there now, but I just couldnt imagine going anywhere else. The best!

We just adopted a rescue dog, and were able to get an appointment quickly. Excellent COVID-19 precautions, all very efficient. Dog was happy and not scared at all. This was our first visit there since we used a different vet for our cats. Glad we switched.Great experience!

My little pup had a scratched cornea and they were able to take care of it for him! My only gripe was not being allowed in for the visits (Covid precautions) which required a lot of trust for a first time client. As you wait in your car the vet does call you to let you know the findings and plan of care.Seeing that he did get better reassured me he was in good hands. I will use them again in the future should he need further care. Hopefully they’ll allow us in next time :)

Great for regular checkups but not for emergency care, unless you can wait 2 weeks for an emergency appointment.

Dr Lentis is truly amazing. I have had nothing but great experiences with her. She is thorough and professional and very attentive with my puppy Duke. Dr Lentis went out of her way to call hospitals to make sure she found us a good place when there was an emergency. She is always patient and very professional. I cannot recommend her enough!

I am so happy that they have an exotic animal specialist in staff now! They are not easy to find and my family has been bringing out cats and dogs here for years. Its great that now they can see the guinea pigs too. I was able to get an appointment on the day I called. Other places are usually booked out a week or two.

I cannot say enough nice things about the staff or the experience. I called for a last minute appointment for one of my foster cats right before the storm. They fit us in and got her medication the same day. I am so thankful that we can start treatment for her eye infection. So professional and kind at a stressful moment. Thank you so much.

I have been looking for a local vet for the longest time. When I moved back to NJ from NC, Banfield was the place to go down there and truly it is a different beast down south than up here: however, having found Berkeley Heights Animal Hospital I am extremely relieved. The professionalism is leaps and bounds ahead of most vet clinics in the area and the staff and vets are incredibly kind and well versed in local businesses and activities for dogs. I was able to make an appointment quickly for the same week, and the visit itself was only about twenty minutes; though, my dog only needed vaccinations and heartworm preventative. I cant speak to more thorough visits but I doubt based on the time of other cars coming and going that it would be a terribly long wait time. Just a friendly reminder that they are an animal hospital so that might not always be the case in the event if an emergency, but that comes with the territory of any vet practice.Its always scary bringing your pet to a new place but they were so exceptionally kind and the experience was incredible. Ill definitely be making them my full time vet practice. I dont have any negatives for them.As far as pricing, it is very comparable and competitive to other practices. As a first time patient, I received free vaccine treatment for my dog which was amazing and they have wellness plans that can be paid in full immediately or on a payment plan with a down payment which is light years beyond so many other places that just charge you enormous amounts and dont even say why. They give a detailed receipt and are very forth coming about any charges you may incur before treatment which is super appreciated.Overall Id give them a 12/10! If you are looking for a local vet to trust with your family pet then look no further. I really wish I could give personal shout outs to the vet tech and vet who worked with us today but since it was mostly through the phone due to covid I dont want to get anyones name wrong. Im sure though that theyre a snapshot of the entire staff and Im really excited to have found such a gem of a place.

Since adopting our new pup, we’ve visited this location several times. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive to our pup’s needs. They’re very quick to respond calls and answer any questions. We feel like our pup is treated like a celebrity and he truly enjoys visiting. We highly recommend!

Just got our first puppy. The animal hospital was recommended to us by a family member. I was not disappointed. The staff is great, the vet was wonderful, and Pigpen was well taken care of.

I brought my puppy here to get spayed and asked for a price estimate multiple times and was told they would “get back to me.” They charged me about $220 just for the pre op appointment and another $535 for the actual spay. $750+ later... they couldn’t even give me a sufficient cone for her recovery. I’ve gone here before and it has been fine service wise but I will be going elsewhere in the future because of this terrible experience. Unless you want to pay almost a grand to get your dog spayed I would do so elsewhere.

We hadnt noticed that our dogs nails had gotten too long. We had an appointment with our usual groomer, but she had to cancel and we were going into a holiday weekend. I called all over, but no one was available to help us. When I called these folks, they took him right away. Due to the restrictions from the pandemic, we waited in the car while a masked young lady took our dog in and they provided the needed care. Our dog is not easy. He was abused in the past and gets very anxious in these situations which is why we generally have someone come to the house. They were very caring and understanding. I cant say enough about how wonderful they are, and how grateful we are! We wouldnt hesitate to return and recommend them to all!

Brought in my twelve year old pug because he was having some trouble walking - I reached out and was able to get an appointment same day. Dr. Seltzer was very helpful. Erin, Shanon, & Meg are absolutely phenomenal and you can tell they are all very passionate about what they do. They treat you and your pet like family. I know I am in great hands whenever I go! The staff, as other reviewers have said, are all really nice and cordial, but honestly, the place seems like a rip off. They tell you to call back so they can see how your animal is doing, but when you tell them that what was prescribed is not working, they try to rush you back in and are quick to charge you for another office visit (which is over $80). The first antibiotic worked well (a shot). When I looked up the second antibiotic prescribed, it does not even match with the diagnosis. I inquired the issue with another animal hospital, who clearly stated the first treatment was correct and the second was not. Unfortunately, I will not be going back.

My family have been taking our pets to BH Animal Hospital for 30 years - doesn’t that tell you enough!We trust them and they will be honest with you when you have to make tough, hard decisions about your pet (gets sick or must leave our side forever - never an easy decision for anyone).Also we have recommended friends/ family to take their pets there as well and have had come to love everyone at BH Animal Hospital as much as we do.

This is such a great place to bring you pet. The entire staff and doctors are just wonderful. It’s a nice small animal hospital with that home town feel. I used to go to Murray Hill Vets but they just got too big...and too impersonal.

Dr. Murmar only provides lip service and has no intentions of calling his patients back. Receptionist Shannon is extremely rude and condescending. Overall a very unpleasant office.

Like Dr. Dolittle. This is where that child in the Norman Rockwell painting brought his dog. Dr Marmur and his staff will love your pet like their own. They are honest, competent, responsive and they sincerely care about you and your pet. Dr. Marmur saved my dog’s life by trying an innovative approach that was not offered by my previous vet. They do house calls too!

We just started taking our Lima who is a Tibetan Spaniel mix to BHAH. We are so pleased with the care and attention to detail that Lima has received. Lima got her teeth expertly cleaned yesterday and they look beautiful. I am a Dental Hygienist for humans and I can be very hard to please when it comes to clean teeth but Lima’s teeth look sparkly white with no residual calculus. We will continue using BHAH for Lima’s continued healthcare needs and annual exam. One other note worthy point I must add is the pricing for services rendered, in particular with the dental cleaning. I was quoted a price at our previous Veterinarian that we have used for 20 years and the price was at least 2x more than the price quoted at BHAH. Being able to afford an annual dental cleaning for our pets is an important part to maintaining their overall health. Thank you BHAH!

I have 2 dogs that go to Berkeley Hts Animal hospital and I am always happy with the staff as well as the drs. My dogs are always nervous going in but they are treated so well all the time.

I had to bring in my 4 month old puppy for an emergent visit and was extremely grateful that the staff at BHAH fit her in. It was a stressful visit not being able to be involved in everything due to restrictions with COVID, but Dr. Seltzer made time to answer my questions during and after the appointment.
