Hillary did an amazing job cutting my hair! She helped me donate 12 inches of my hair to Wigs for Kids, and did an excellent job cutting the perfect French style bob cut for me. Im so incredibly happy with the results, plus she gave me tips on how to style it 👌. Definitely going back!

By far the best salon I’ve ever been to! I had Wendy do an all over color on my hair and a cut. My hair went from boring and one dimensional to everything I have ever wanted it to be! She took the time to listen to me and make sure that I got the exact color I wanted. She was so genuine when talking with me and made my overall experience so enjoyable. All of the staff members are so kind and welcoming. I would honestly suggest this salon for any service that they offer! I will 100% be coming back here!

Their massage therapist Emily is amazing. Her deep tissue massage has helped my chronic pain immensely. She is always friendly and very knowledgeable, providing suggestions on ways to continue the relief between appointments.

I went here to get highlights and they did not give me highlights the color remover which then made my hair a disgustingly weird orange. Then the lady proceeded to give me a haircut and which was so choppy and then I explain to the manager that I was not happy with it and if there’s anyway we can fix it and he laughed at me and was super rude and it was 300+ dollars and then I continue to have this long conversation with the manager until he finally agreed to fix my hair. I do not recommend this place at all.

I just moved here and came from an Aveda Salon in another state. I like their mostly plant based hair color and since I was going to another Aveda they allowed me to take my hair color formula. It took 3 tries to find “my person” but I did! Danika was an excellent colorist. She spent time explaining what has been going wrong with my color and she worked to fix it. I walked out feeling heard and my hair looked great! I will be back to see Danika!

Its always tricky to find a stylist in a new town. I chose Avalon because even though the price was a little higher than other salons in the area I knew the stylist would be experienced and the products would be high quality. I scheduled a 3/4 highlight and a haircut and expected the cost to be around $165-170. When I checked out I was surprised the total was $195 which included an extra toner/conditioner the stylist used without asking me first. I ended up tipping her less than I normally would due to this unexpected price. I will say I am very happy with the hair color. It is exactly what I was hoping for. The cut is just okay. But I wont be returning because of this practice of charging clients for unauthorized treatments and also, Im not a fan of the pressure to buy products on your way out. I notice other reviewers have commented on this same experience.

We just moved to the area and my 12 year old daughter wanted to cut her bangs and needed an overall haircut desperately. This place was open on Sunday which was the only day we could make work and they did a fantastic job! My baby loves her hair and I do too. Thank you!

I’ve always been very nervous when choosing a new place to get my haircut. I have long hair and like to keep it long so I only get my haircut twice a year. I love this salon! They take later appointments which is great for the people who have a 9-5 job. I chose David based off of other reviews I read and he is absolutely amazing. He listens to what you want and makes sure you’re happy with it. If you go here ask for David 100%!

Went in for a consultation with Rose, she wasn’t very knowledgeable or helpful when it came to her plan of action with my hair. She wanted to charge me anywhere from $220 - $330+. I didn’t like the uncertainty so I decided to look elsewhere, (Bamboo Salon) and they laid out an exact plan of what they were going to do with my hair and were much nicer and professional. Only paid $150 too!

I love this Salon. Danica listened very sincerely to my needs and I was so happy. Air Control Hair spray is the best ever. Pricey, but worth it. Smells wonderful.

Ashley Brisbine at Avalon is the ONLY person I trust to do my brows. She has a great eye for shaping. She has a very calm and professional presence which makes her facials very relaxing. Getting a facial and wax will leave you feeling so fresh. Highly recommend.

I came in asking for an eyebrow clean-up and the tails and inner portions of my brows were completely removed. I now have one round eyebrow and one square on the inner portion and have to reschedule my date WHEN MY EYEBROWS GROW BACK. Im appalled. My brows were beautiful, just a bit unruly, but now.. Im in tears. For future reference, in hopes the woman that did this can learn and improve; eyebrows should align with the outer nostril...not the inner corner of the eye. Some brows are unable to because of how they grow BUT MINE DID WHEN I CAME IN.

Ugh. Came fromOut of town and appointment was canceled via a voicemail. Drove 30 minutes to hear, “I guess you didn’t get my message?” Nope. Not everyone lives by their phones. Maybe a second call? It couldn’t have been more than 10 clients to contact. How about I charge YOU for a cancellation? No rescheduling. Too many other options.

From the moment I walked in to the second I walked out the team was extremely friendly and helpful. This was my first manicure and pedicure and I will certainly be requesting more. I have found my happy place 😁

I like that these gals have Aveda readily available, I wish some of their newer haircare lines were better and I took a star off for lack of refunds they do let you exchange though but I get why they dont allow returns its really a salon more than a store.

So this isn’t my first time here. I’ve had great pedicures and massages. This time I got a gel manicure. I called to make an appointment when it was time to get it off. I asked how much it was to take it off if I got it done there. The receptionist said nothing but we can’t just let you leave without doing anything to your nails so I’ll book you a express manicure and that will be $30. I’m like ok. So I show up today and when I sit down she’s trying to take my nail polish off with nail polish remover. And I’m like this is a gel. She immediately said oh I don’t have time to give you an express manicure. I said I’m confused. This is what I was told when I called. So she got up and went to check and came back and said no I can’t do it. I’m like ok well I’m not paying $30 then. She went to go grab the drill (mind you I’ve had hundreds of no chip done from were I moved and never had a drill remove it) meanwhile other manicurist chimes in while she’s doing someone’s nails and says that’s how we do it here. Oh great thanks. Then she drills it off and does a light file and I leave with my nails looks ruined. Not even a polish of nail strengthener on. I still have product on from the gel. My nails are ruined. After I walked out I had to go find the receptionist and told her the story. And showed her my nails. She refunded me and then went to go talk to the manicurist and said that I can come back at 2 to get them fixed. Well I had another appointment for something that day. And now feel completely uncomfortable. I’ve had my nails done at high ends spas for years from where I lived before. I loved coming here and thought it was my new nail home. Until today. So I’m not sure where the mistake happened. The receptionist who booked my for this or what. Just very disappointed and now I have to go get my nails fixed somewhere else.

Super friendly staff, great work, it is a bit pricey...but when it comes to your hair and self-care...you get what you pay for.I took my daughter and niece back in November. They loved their cuts so much, I went back and got my hair cut there as well. We will absolutely be going back in the future and I cannot wait to try some of their other services!

I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Miranda for over a year. I am so happy with the cut, color and styling that Miranda has provided me. She’s extremely professional and so very talented. She consistently makes my hair look so beautiful! I threw her a huge challenge recently, when I had her help me transition to grey from red. I couldn’t believe what an awesome job she did!! Not only did she successfully remove all the red from my hair, she added low lights and highlights and then all over toner, which made my hair look spectacular! I looked like I had been grey/silver for awhile!! And my hair is soft and smooth!!! I’m extremely happy with every experience I have at Avalon Salon, the staff are all so nice and I just love Miranda! Im new to the area, and very particular with my haircuts. I have an important interview coming up so I knew I had to get a cleaner look going into it (no haircuts during Covid at this point). I took a chance with Avalon Salon & Spa Aveda...and I couldnt be happier with the result. Kari (sp?) was amazing and knew exactly what I wanted, and executed to perfection. I scheduled another appointment before I leave back to the east coast.

I got a pedicure right when they opened on a Saturday morning. So peaceful, quiet and the best pedicure I’ve ever had by far! When I checked out I ended up buying a gift certificate for my sister so she could experience it as well. I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could. I will definitely be coming back and trying some of the other services!

Kari was awesome!! I went in for a cut, and she did such an amazing job. She was also super friendly and easy to talk to. The salon itself is BEAUTIFUL. Also, if you havent gotten hooked on Aveda products yet, this is a great place to do so.

I had my makeup done there by Ashley. She was very kind and professional. I wasnt very impressed with my makeup, unfortunately. She didnt prime my skin before foundation application. She did a good job mixing foundations to match my skin. She only had one set of false lashes, which I was disappointed by. I expected to have option for false lashes. I have dark chocolate hair, and she used an almost black eyebrow color on me. It looked like i had black eye brows, instead of brown. She did a pretty good job following my natural brow shape though. My lip were not good at all. My lips were very dry before she applied lipstick, so the lipstick didnt smear right. She also didnt line my lips or apply concealer to the corners to cover up the smudged lipstick. I think she has potential though.The also did not have a lot of color options. Very small supply of make up products.

Im just going to be transparent about the entire experience. This salon did a great job on my hair and highlights. However, its all about the extras and upsale and at the end of it I ended up paying $210 after added toner and a trim that turned into a full hair cut. Seeing a review and hearing from others by word of mouth similar to mine makes it pretty clear this is a normal practice.To be completely honest you can go to other salons in town for the same thing at least $50 cheaper that use great products as well (Ive done my research). I dont wish for an apology or even a comment this is just for the general public as a heads up so they are not surprised as well as so many others as I have found out.But if you want something thats well done and dont care about the price or uncommunicated upsales this is the place for you.

Wanted a 3/4 highlight and a trim. I expected the price to be around $155. I’ve never paid more than that for what I get done to my hair. My stylist put so many tin foils in the hair that the entire process of cut and highlight took over 3 hours. Seemed very excessive especially after only asking for a partial highlight.I gave 3 stars because I do think my hair looks good. And I did like my stylist, she was fun to chat with and all. But I wish she would’ve communicated with me more that she was going to do so much extra highlighting than a normal partial highlight performed at other salons. The price ended up being $205 due to extra color and added toner. I was surprised by the price, letting the manager know that I didn’t expect the additional charged and she never asked if I wanted toner for extra charge or anything. Don’t do extra stuff that costs more without asking the client first. The manager offered $20 off my next visit. Except I’m not sure I want to go back to a place that seems overpriced for me. I would’ve much rather been offered the toner on the house and got a $25 refund.I tipped my stylist well ($30).The least they can do is give me a small refund due to lack of communication. Seems like they are very against giving any sort of refund though.

You cannot get a bad hair cut here! I have tried every stylist due to how booked and busy they always are, and the good news is they are all fantastic. I always leave looking better than when I came in. You cant say that about other salons.

They called me the day of my apt and asked if I could push it back 30 min. I said sure but it definitely cut into my days plans. I get there and then have to wait 30 more minutes before Im seated so now my day is an hour behind schedule. The appointment is then super rushed which Im guessing is to get her back on schedule. Clear and noticeable bald spot on my head from going too quick with the clippers.I would suggest staying clear of here.

I saw Rose for a shampoo/blow out. I thought she did an excellent job! My hair stayed in place all day until I had pictures that afternoon. I am going to see Rose again for my next cut/color. The only bummer is that a blow out/shampoo is $32, however I asked for a few curls, and because the hot iron was used the price jumped to $47. I was told that the manager had just made that switch. I feel like thats a little steep? Otherwise very happy with service.Edit: Went back to Rose for a partial highlight and cut, havent highlighted my hair in years and Im so happy with the results!! Will definitely keep coming back.

My haircut felt rushed, and it was cut in 25 minutes including wash and style. It was not what I expected, and honestly the worst haircut I’ve ever received. I might have not explained my hairstyle well, but my hairstylist Rose also did not take the time to understand what I wanted. By the end of the haircut, it was too short to get it the way I wanted.

I was nervous about making a pedicure appt so close to the lifted shelter in place restrictions - but Aveda salon went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful & safe experience. The shop was outfitted with sinks, soaps, and sanitizers. I was the only person in the spa. The ambiance was relaxing and my pedicure was simply amazing. Such a spoil. I will absolutely be back!

Had a haircut with Kari and it was a great cut. Love it! Exactly what I was looking for and she was so friendly and professional.

Cari my hair technician was very friendly; all staff used covid-19 sanitary precautions- used masks and gloves and the entire salon was clean. Upon checking in, I was asked to wash my hands and was directed to the sink; when I finished the sink was immediately sanitized. Prior to my appointment, they called to ask some relevant health questions to make sure I hadnt been exposed to potential covid-19 virus. I appreciate all the efforts this salon made and happy they are able to make a living again.

A friend recommended Cari for a haircut and I’m so glad I took the chance. It was really easy to book online and the salon was pretty. Started the service with some aromatherapy and a light neck/shoulder/scalp massage, which was wonderful. Cari did an amazing job, and I’ve had a really hard time getting a good cut here- she took the time to listen to what I want and what I haven’t liked in previous haircuts. I love my haircut, it was just what I wanted. Would definitely recommend her and have found my hairdresser in Bend!

A friend and I enjoyed fabulous facials that included shoulder, arm and hand massage, left our skin rosy and refreshed for days, and our selves thoroughly relaxed. Nancys skill and manner, attention, pace and the products made our visit exceptional. I also enjoyed a leisurely Avalon pedicure, and my friend had Express pedi and mani with Michelle. She, too, gave excellent, welcoming and professional service. We were visiting Bend, but if I lived nearby I would be a regular customer. Thank you, Nancy and Michelle!

Update 1/24/2020: I just want to update this review and thank the wonderful Hailey for fixing my haircut! While you can’t add length back, you can fix a bad cut, and she definitely did that. It’s amazing how well my layers look, blend, and fall right into place, thank you! Again, previous review wasn’t for the salon, it was for a really bad experience with a stylist. Fortunately, Hailey’s talent saved the day!! Her attitude and personality just made the experience better. She could tell I was distressed and knew exactly what to do. Go see her if you need a bad haircut fixed or If you just want to get a good haircut period :) I have thick curly hair that I wear straight. Rock on Hailey! 🤙Previous (12/2019, 1/5 stars) I had beautiful hair down to my elbows and went in to get a cut to a few inches past my shoulders. This lady cut my hair to above my shoulders! I was shocked. I was very explicit in where I wanted my hair length and that I wanted layers. I have curly hair and I straighten it. I have been doing this since I was a teenager and know my hair very well. She said ‘it’s because your hair is curly’. This lady seemed in a bad mood that day which should have been my first clue. The layering job is terrible and looks like I left with more split ends than when I arrived. I told them at the front desk and they and the manager gave me a little pouch with sample shampoo and a $20 gift card. I was embarrassed and put on the spot and really upset. The girl behind the counter said ‘well now you don’t need as much shampoo so that will save money’. WTF. I went home and literally cried. It was just before my birthday the holidays and I got ZERO pictures with my hair down. In fact, most pics I’m wearing a beanie. A nice stylist offered to fix it, but I just moved and don’t live there anymore and couldn’t drive back to make the appointment. When I visited my friend she asked what’s happened with your hair?’ I can see by the reviews that there are good stylists, but I left feeling like a strip mall haircut with an Aveda price tag. A $20 gift card doesn’t suffice! Worst hair experience in my life. She doesn’t know what she’s doing and I should have trusted my gut. Really sad. :(

Called to make an appointment with someone experienced with bleaching hair. Told they are all experts. Got in with Rose. Turns out Rose had no bleaching skills what so ever. Ended up turning my roots Orange/gold. Charged me $300. Called to see if she could “fix me” and the receptionist said yes. Got in with Rose the following day. They said it would be no charge. Rose proceeded to burn my hair off. Literally a bald spot on the back of my head. Charged me an additional $189. I paid because I was embarrassed and put on the spot. Called the next day to discuss with manager but the receptionist argued with me and never passed me in to anyone else to discuss. I was so frustrated and after about three months I am finally saying something about it. I’m out my money plus I have spent over a thousand dollars I’m trying to correct the color, hair extensions and hair treatments. I will never go back there and would not recommend risking the integrity of your hair by trusting any of their “good”’reviews. One bad experience like mine is enough!

Just got my hair cut and colored by Autumn, and absolutely love the results! The salon and products used are wonderful, and smell great. Everyone made me feel super comfortable from beginning to end. I’d highly recommended coming here to get pampered.

Best place in Bend to get totally pampered even when just getting a haircut. They sell the full Aveda line of products. Love the hand cream though I wish they would make a larger bottle of the heavy hand cream. The smell of their essential oil is life changing. The staff is incredible. There is no place else I will go for as long as I live in Bend.

Miranda is awesome! I came in with a vague idea of what I wanted and Miranda did a great job making my vision for my hair a reality. Avalon salon has a great environment and all staff are super friendly. Would highly recommend!

Avalon is a wonderful place to go with professional services and courteous staff. It is so relaxing with the scalp massage and the tea, when you get your hair done. The products are fabulous and its convenient to be able to purchase them all on site. Going there is a treat and a great way to decompress from this crazy, busy life! Definitely a reason to go to Old Mill if you havent been there in awhile.

I have received several facials from Malia as well as a gel nail service - Malia is by far an extremely gifted esthetician! She is gentle, calming and her flow during a facial service is exceptional - truly relaxing and tranquil. I am also an esthetician, so it goes without saying that I have had many facials from many different estheticians and she by far amazing & talented at what she does! I’m not in the nail industry, but my nails look great and she didn’t take off my skin when filing (like so many do). Can not recommend her enough!

I cut my hair with Rose, going from long hair to SUPER short. What an awesome experience. Rose was responsive and provided great advice...above all she gave me a killer cut. I will be going back for all my maintenance and would recommend to a friend in a heartbeat. She was also sure to cut it properly so I could donate it!

I’ve had a cut, color, and eyebrow wax with Miranda - all of which were perfect (according to me!). She colored and toned my hair that had turned yellow/copper from a previous color and made it a yummy honey brown, I love it. She cleaned up a poorly done cut as well. Service is excellent, the salon is clean, and Miranda is my new Go To!

I recently hurt my arm and I’ve been in a cast and unable to wash/dry my hair....so, fate would have it that I found Avalon Salon AND Cari who has been doing my blow outs for 4 weeks now. My first visit to Avalon did not disappoint! Donika was my stylist. She did a phenomenal job! I made an appointment to get a terrible haircut fixed. I was sceptical that it could be transformed into anything.... Boy was I wrong! I LOVE MY NEW HAIR!I will be going back! I have had terrible luck with hair cuts and a couple color catastrophes since moving to Bend. I am so relieved to have found a salon with skilled stylists at very reasonable prices.Cant wait to try other services at this place!

After recently relocating to Bend I have been searching for a new haridresser. Donika has been wonderful and my hair looks great. I was worried about whether plant based products would be strong enough for my gray resistant hair, but the color has held out great and the condition of my hair even better!
