I have two sons who attend Victory Martial Arts. Weve been there nearly six months now and I could not be happier. Individual attention is given to ensure the kiddos are learning the moves properly, with clear, step by step instructions. The senseis know just how far to challenge the kids so they leave with a tremendous feeling of success. The classes are fun, but also serious in learning correct form as well as the history of karate and other important intangibles (trust and respect). My kids have improved fine and gross motor skills and developed new skills (saying yes, sir, maam at home is a nice development!). Balance, focus, hard work, setting and reaching goals are life skills my boys have come to value.

I couldnt be happier with everything Victory has to offer from payments to skills and experience. The environment at Victory is welcoming and friendly and yet they are completely professional and consistent. I have never had any problems with monthly billing and have understood the contract, as it was diligently read to me by Sensei. He took the time to explain every detail of the contract; how to make payments, who Im making payments to and specifically how the payment program works. It was fully understood what would happen in a case of non payment or contract cancellation. We couldnt be happier with Victory! Our son is doing something he loves and looks forward to every week.

I just enrolled my 11 year old son up. I am very excited and confidant this is going to be a great place for him to learn. The owner, Sensei Mark personally took the time to sit with me and explain word for word the expectations of me and also my son as a student in a very personable way. I felt welcomed the instant I walked in and am looking forward to see my son grow in this supportive environment.

My Wife and I started training at Victory about 4 months ago and we have been extremely pleased with our experience so far. It definitely feels like family in how everyone treats and helps each other in becoming a better martial artist.Senseis Mark and Karra, Jeff and Chris are all great teachers, honorable in everything we have seen or heard, and we find Karate to be the highlight of our week. We would Highly encourage anyone looking to study a martial art or self defense class to give Victory a go, you wont be disappointed.

Victory Martial Arts accomodates our preschool/kindergarten students for a class twice a week. The instructor, Christopher, is excellent! He is patient and kind with our students. A great program for young beginners.

Ouch!!! Was definitely treated like family at first, but got ripped off in the end! =(Amazing Instructors, great programs, great lessons... unfortunately very poor business Morals & Ethics. Victory Martial Arts continued to take $189 per month out of my checking account months after I cancelled my membership with them. Victory Martial Arts continued to withdrawal money so inconsistently that I didnt catch it in time and if I didnt catch it, they get to keep my familys money. (Very Shady Business Practices)Lesson learned: If a business will not accept your credit card, checks or even cash, then dont due business with them. Once you give up your checking account info, they can easily rip you off!Feeling betrayed and violated!

The technical instruction at this school is good. The owner however has an abrasive arrogance from an ego larger than Mt. Rushmore. Not my cup of tea as an example for my kid. Also watch your wallet..........be careful what you sign with this guy or how much you pre-pay because you will not get a refund if you are unable to continue attending the school.

Our experience at Victory Martial Arts has been nothing short of incredible. I have an extensive coaching background and have been very impressed with the whole process of teaching and learning at the dojo. The techniques are taught with an effective combination of detail and patience. It is fun to see our child come home and be eager to demonstrate what he has learned.

My husband and three kids have been at Victory Martial Arts for the past year. Sensei Colgan and his son, Sensei Chris, are patient, friendly and not only great teachers but also treat you like family. They focus on each kids needs individually, helping them gain confidence. We are extremely happy with our experience and would highly recommend this dojo!

Watching my daughter take Karate at Victory Martial Arts inspired me to take it myself. Not only is it a great sport for fitness but it also trains the mind as well. Sensei Mark and Sensei Karra are great instructors and teach the kids not only skills but values as well. It has helped my daughter stay focused, learn respect and so many other things that reinforce what I am teaching her as a parent. They are very old school and traditional yet work great with the kids of all ages. As an adult taking the classes, I have become much more self confident and less self conscious and feel very empowered. I would recommend them to any one of any age who is interested in starting martial arts. They are great!

I have been part of Victory Martial Arts for almost 2 months and it has been one of the best decisions I have made for my life. Sensei Colgans knowledge and instruction is far beyond anything else in the region or the state. At Victory Martial Arts you learn the foundations of traditional technique and increase your fitness level, while at the same time learning goal setting, self-confidence, discipline, teamwork and self evaluation, which are all skills that are necessary for success both in karate and in life.In reading some of the negative posts, I do have to say that Sensei Colgan is very clear when you join about what are committing to financially. The fees are more than reasonable and he is extremely fair and accommodating if your financial situation or physical abilities change during the terms of your commitment.I would recommend becoming a student of this dojo to anyone who wants to make positive improvements in their life.

My husband and I have been students here for over 3 yrs. This is such an awesome school. The owners, Sensei Mark and Sensei Karra, are some of the nicest people I know. Their professional, yet friendly attitude has been a huge part in my satisfaction with their dojo.... and who wouldnt want to train with WORLD CHAMPIONS!!

My card was improperly charged by this dojo multiple times, despite my repeated requests that they no longer charge my card. On my 3rd request that they not charge my card, the owner, Mark Colgan, called me, threatened me, and insulted me. He then claimed to have processed a refund, but didnt explain why he had not contacted me over the course of 2 business days to tell me this. I cant speak for this schools training, but their business practices are horrid in my experience.

Without hesitation I would recommend this dojo to anyone! My 7-year-old daughter Ivy began at this dojo two months ago. In that time she has become noticeably more focused and more respectful. A friend had recommended Victory Martial Arts due to similar changes in her son.I could not be more pleased with the training, the facilities and the students. As others have mention the ten rules of life are emphasized as well as ultimate focus, good manners and my favorite- the karate creed,Karate begins and ends with CourtesyActions have ConsequencesWe are ResponsibleWe lead by ExampleThere is no excuse for Bad mannersAnother positive Ive noticed is the more experienced kids are required to know the newer students names and treat them with kindness. Often the more experienced students are asked to take the whole class through an exercise. Clearly this is to test them but also to show the other students that they will be out in front too! This healthy competition lead Ivy to want to show to the class her mastery of Ippon #1 just yesterday.Sensei Colgan and his other teaching staff (both his sons teach) are not only proficient and knowledgeable, bunt they are kind and fun too! My little Ivy has responded in kind- mastering not only the techniques shown to her but also the spirit of karate.Great job Victory martial arts.

Our two sons (7 and 5) have been attending Victory Martial Arts for about 2.5 months. My 7 year old loves karate and has been able to focus and excel from the start. He knows when he enters the Dojo and walks onto the floor he has the opportunity to perform to high expectations but is able to meet those expectations with the guidance and leadership of Sensei Colgan and his sons, who help teach. My 5 year old was another story. Due to a host of issues he needed a completely different approach. Sensei Colgan communicated and worked with me (and continues to do so) as to what approaches might work best for my 5 year old. At the same time, he kept his level of expectations high enough for my son to succeed. We have seen a big improvement over the last few months in his attitude, focus, and gross motor skills while at the Dojo. Sensei Colgan runs a rigorous program that provides the opportunity for each student to achieve their personal best while also keeping a focus on succeeding as a group. They are each provided with opportunities to be leaders and well as be lead. The students all work very well together and are respectful. I have been particularly impressed with Sensei Colgans focus on technical skill. He also communicates very well with parents and offers hints, tricks, and tips to help our young sons improve their technical abilities when they practice at home. For the first time my 5 year old actually wants to practice an activity on his own while at home and he and his brother have been able to cooperatively practice together. I look forward to watching my sons succeed as they are taught and trained by Sensei Colgan.

We feel fortunate to have found Victory Martial Arts. Sensei Mark and Sensei Karra use Karate as a vehicle to teach the 10 Rules of Life: Effort, Etiquette, Character, Sincerity, Self-Control, Respect, Humility, Confidence, Discipline, and Integrity. Our daughter has benefited from these lessons and has enjoyed making friends at the dojo.

Sensei Mark is a consistent, gentle yet firm leader who has led my son and daughter into believing in their power both physically and spiritually. He teaches karate as a sport and karate as a way of life. My children have learned the value of well....values. Such as, effort, etiquette, character, sincerity, self-control, respect, humility, confidence, discipline, and integrity. Ive taken this list directly from Sensei Marks The Ten Rules of Life which I keep posted in our kitchen. We LOVE Victory Martial Arts! Actually, we love the whole family that runs and teaches at Victory Martial Arts...Sensei Karra, Senpai Christopher, and Connor!

I am an old and very passionate student, within the Okinawan traditional martial arts systems. I began at a very early age, and have studied under various Sensei as well as nationally recognized instructors. I hold two black belts and am now working on my third through this school.Upon coming to Victory Martial Arts, I soon realized how much more could be learned through Sensei Colgan. His deliberate teaching approach has already developed other national and world champions within traditional karate. Although that is not, nor has it ever been a goal of mine, I have improved every technique studied so far. I am faster, in better shape, and fearless. The breakdown of each skill, there specific characteristics, and effectiveness, allow students to visualize and make each technique a part of natural movement. A majority of schools I have spent any time at, have never given this in depth education to their students. This is what the old schools in Okinawa did with each student, and was the only way to truly pass down the “Original Styles” to new generations.I love training at Victory Martial Arts! I enjoy both Sensei Mark & Karra Colgan as well as the effort they put into making me a better practitioner of these arts I love so much.“Keep up the great work!”Sensei Evans
