My hard drive failed so I took it in for diagnostics and requested a new hard drive if needed. 16 days later, I walked out with a new hard drive and the transfer of date which was questionable because it was only downloads. Once home I found most everything on one drive. Its now running fine. They were very helpful with advice and invited me to call again if needed. Now Im glad I asked for a new hard drive and didnt just get a new computer. Hope I can say that at least 3 years from now. Good job guys!
Dropped off my wifes Macbook Pro for repair and was told that their Mac person would be in later that day and would take a look at it. Almost a week went by and we heard nothing. I finally called to enquire about the status and the person I spoke with said that they would look into it and call me back. Nothing. I went in the next day and told them I was there to pick it up. The employee went in the back for several minutes, brings out my wifes laptop and says is that the one? No explanation or apology until I replied Yep. Thanks for nothing. Employee replies sorry about that. Very unprofessional and poor communication. If you need a repair take it somewhere that appreciates your business instead.
I scheduled a home visit for multiple networking and computer issues. Matt arrived on time, quickly took care of the issues I was having, and gave me information that was very helpful overall. I highly recommend this tech business. Very reliable, fair prices, accurate service!
Fast, efficient and reasonably priced. I appreciated their knowledge and attention to my situation. I will definitely recommend.
What a great job. They told me 10 days to see my computer, but was working on it in 5 days. A day later i was told the computer was ready.I talked with another computer person who thought I would have to take everything off and then reload Windows 10.. they had no hope of fixing the computer, if they found not get past a password issue.I would strongly recommend using these ppl.
Gotta say Im very satisfied with my service at Pauls. They went extra effort for my laptop and got it right back to me at a very reasonable price. Would definitely use them again.
Great place and the people are so helpful and pleasant. 5 stars all around.
Had my old PC in to cleaned of worms and other malware. It took 2 weeks (during the holidays), but it runs quickly and correctly now.
Paul and his crew at Paul The Computer guy are awesome! Super quick to respond to emails and calls. They help us at our office that I manage and have helped us with server issues, simple fixes and complex also purchasing and building new computers! I cant send over an email in the morning with an issue and almost always they will have someone in our office by noon to fix the issue. Price is fair and they even have a monthly plan you can sign up for as business for peace of mind. I appreciate everyone at Paul The Computer Guy and Highly recommend for all your computer needs!
I called with an issue with my laptop he diagnosed correctly over the phone then I brought it to the shop and he had it fixed immediately. Great service thank you!
These guys are great! I highly recommend them. I know I will use them againThey came to my house the day after I called ( quick service) and sorted out my wireless drag time. So now all rooms and devices are running quick and efficiently. They also noticed a small glitch in my husbands computer set up.Super nice and they know what they are doing. Thanks Paul the Computer guy.
Really knowledgable and detail-oriented. After I described my problem, we dug down to the cause and even though they werent able to help, the guys pointed me in the right direction.
I have been using Paul for about 5 years now - - I have always found him and his team to be responsive, knowledgeable and timely. My most recent interaction was a request for them to come and check all the computers in my office. I wanted to make sure everything was up to date, no issues and set up right.... after all, as a small business owner - one of my hats is basic IT. They arrived at my office within 1 day of my request - - and went through all my computers. The tech at my office was respectful of my employees trying to work and shuffled to OUR schedule. The tech them may suggestions and showed ME how I could solve each of his suggestions for better flow in our office. He didnt push to do the work himself or try to up-charge me.... I actually felt that he tried to help me save money and gave me information on Do it yourself things...(ps - - I have had situations that I could not fix and they did help and do the work for me - - so Ive used Paul in simple to extreme requests)I highly recommend Paul the Computer Guy and his team!!! THANK YOU!!!
My husband and I are very impressed with the professionalism we experienced with Ryan and Micah. We didnt have much hope retrieving our customer databases when our old XP computer crashed. Ryan was amazing at data retrieval. Thank you both so much for making this horrible experience bearable. You rock!
Im very pleased with the service and professionalism from Pauls team, Matt & Micah. Both answered questions and provided recommendations on cyber security, hardware upgrades, backup systems for our home office. Very responsive and knowledgeable.
Good not great. Took my Dell in on a Monday. I was told it would be done the following Monday. Instead it took until Thursday. Due to problems they wiped my computer clean. They did not provide me back up disks with my files. Luckily I had on-line back up (which took 40 hours to load). Also, re-installed windows but didnt give me the product key. I was a little disappointed as I had heard so many great things about Pauls.
We brought our computer in to Paul The Computer Guy in March and had the 180.00 antivirus package and 40.00 to add Norten anti virus protection. Our office person has been out since then so we hadnt used the computer. Today I checked it and it is running super slow and NOT working properly. I called in to see if I could bring it back in and they said it is no longer under warranty. I would expect better customer service. I would advise others not to make the same mistake of using Paul the Computer Guy. Very disappointed.
Paul the Computer Guy is amazing. He has a staff of very well trained professionals that are prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. They came out to my business and in 3 hours fixed problems I had been fighting for years. If I had known it would be that easy and affordable I would have called them out long ago. I guess this is what you can expect from someone who advertises they know what the heck they are doing Great job!!
As a small business owner Paul and his team at Paul the Computer Guy have helped me with my IT needs for a few years now. They have been professional, honest, timely and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them to anyone with personal or business computer needs.
Paul and his team have always been there for me. Getting me up and going. Whether a quick fix or more extensive. I appreciate them.
If I could rate zero stars, I would. Their lack of hospitality and poise is mind-blowing! They are belittling and condescending. They dont allow you to give explanation as to why youre experiencing what youre experiencing; just that it cant be what youre saying because theyve tested it and its not that. They fail to lack compassion and empathy. Their rebuttals are laced with hostile tones and cold shoulders to just move you along.
These guys are good. I had several problems occurring in several different programs, and at first I thought my laptop would be turned into scrap metal. But Matt stuck with it for a few days and resolved all problems, and they charged me the original rate, even though it took 20 more hours than expected. And if you dont think thats enough to take your business to these guys, then listen to this: 20 bucks got me 50% more RAM. For only 20 bucks my computer is running incredibly fast, way, way faster than before. These guys are good, and I wont take my computers anywhere else.
I would send anyone to Paul for computer help of any sort. A real plus are the two people he has working for him, Susan and Kellie. They are incredibly helpful and very patient with someone like me who knows very little about computers! I was able to get all my questions asked without feeling like an idiot because I didnt understand what seemed like simple things....Dottie
I would highly recommend Paul the Computer Guy for all your computer needs. Either personal or business Paul and his team have you covered. Thanks Steven T
Weve used Paul the Computer Guy for our small business computer needs since 2011. They set our five-computer network and have helped us navigate countless issues over the years. The great thing is that its not just Paul. Micah, Matt and Ryan are all first rate.
I had work done on my computer recently by Paul the Computer Guy. I had to take it back for a second adjustment. Paul was great in helping. I would recommend him any day. Great customer service. My computer is running great. Thanks Paul
After a long search for a company that can handle our business computer needs, I found Paul the Computer Guy. Matt handled the initial diagnostics to our transformation from a slow hard drive to a new SSD. The process was such a great experience and this group has the knowledge, experience, professionalism, and ability to recommend what is needed to please the customer. You never know who you can trust for all computer related networking needs, but I can only give KUDOS to these guys for someone you can trust!
These guys are always quick to respond to my personal and business computing needs, and they are all top notch. Weve worked most with their technician Ryan Lewis who is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful computer guys anywhere.
Paul and his staff are amazing! They are very knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable leaving my mac in his care for a routine check up. I will tell all my friends to go see Paul for their computer needs!
I worked with Micah who straightened out my mac with a great deal of patience as I couldnt remember any of my passwords. Outstanding service and my computer is working lickety split with no annoying popups and requests for passwords! I also note that Micah was politely able to multi-task as he was working with me. Very impressed.
I stopped in on Tuesday November 17th to have a problem with my laptop diagnosed (randomly freezing). A staff member (not Paul) was helping a gentleman when I arrived. After a minute or so, the staff member acknowledged me and asked if he could help. After I described my situation, he said they could diagnose the problem for $65 and then turned his attention back to the man he was engaged with before me. When I asked how long it would take, he rather cavalierly said it would be 4 days. 4 days just to discover what the issue was?! When I shared with him that I use the laptop in my business daily and that 4 days would be a big inconvenience, he mentioned that I could request a rush on it for $50 more and receive the diagnosis after 2 days. At this point, the other customer (standing behind and to the side of the staff member) began making a sour face and shaking his head no to me, as in Dont do it!). This staff members attitude the entire time was completely uncaring and dismissive. Ultimately I told him that I just couldnt commit to that and would have to explore my options, to which he casually replied OK. Have a good day. This experience actually turned in to a positive for me as a quick google search and phone call put me in touch with Adam at Gaertner PC. Adam is personal, knowledgeable and service-oriented. Unfortunately, while Paul the Computer Guy may indeed know what hes doing when it comes to servicing computers, he needs to work on training his staff on how to serve people..
Great help and advice. Honest. John could not have been more helpful. Will go back with other issues should they arise. Our fingers are crossed for no future problems but should we need them we know where to go!
Thought I was going to have to pay to replace the fan on my macbook. They popped off the back of my laptop and discovered the culprit... a rogue popcorn kernel lodged in the fan. Removed for me free of charge, and my laptop is doing great now. Thank you!
I did hear back from Paul, appreciate his attempt to fix the issue, however will not use his service.
I cannot express my gratitude enough to Micah at Paul The Computer Guy. Not only is he extremely talented, well versed as a technical person, but he is extremely caring. He went above-and-beyond for me and I am truly overwhelmed by it. I brought him a DVD of very sentimental images from our daughters first birthday party with our close family. The DVD was not reading on 3 different devices and I brought it to another computer technician for data recovery, who was unsuccessful. I was about to feel hopeless but since these photos have such great sentimental value I did not want to stop attempting to recover them. Micah listened to my needs with such attention and he actually began to troubleshoot my DVD issue while I was at their store. I think he could sense my attachment to the DVDs data because he was very calm and spoke with ease. I tried to manage my expectations to prevent disappointment, but, to my wildest surprise he explained that he could probably restore 80% of its data. I was blown away by his expected outcome to the point of tears. The mixture of his professionalism, his attention, his care/empathy, his time, et cetera et cetera, I was literally a little ball of tears - kind of embarrassing but I couldnt help myself because this experience was, and is, too surreal. Micah let me know that he would copy the data from the unreadable DVD to a thumb drive and have it ready for me in two days. He called me the following day to let me know that he was able to recover ALL of my data!!! This guy is something else. He is a diamond in the rough, a person who seems to own the business but does not. I am blown away - just blown away and so unbelievably grateful to have crossed paths with a human being such as himself. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Micah. I owe you.
Computers can be very confusing with all the updates and networking and new passwords every two weeks. It’s enough to make you want to go back to pencils and paper.Luckily I don’t have to worry about any of those things because I have Paul the Computer Guy on speed dial. Whenever we have a problem or a question, Paul and his staff take the worries away.I highly recommend Paul he Computer Guy for all your computer and networking needs.Dr. Scott D. I took my computer to get the screen replaced in December and it cost $160. The backlight on the screen went out two months later, (but I brought it in four months later). This time they were going to charge me $120 for the screen (it retails between $40-$60), and $65 for labor. So the second time they were going to fix my screen they were charging me $185. The first other computer repair place I called quoted me $130 for the entire fix.In short, not very long lasting repair work, no deals for return customers (or any deal for fixing something that they had fixed themselves previously) and outrageous prices. Ive now talked to a few other computer repair services and they have all quoted me between $50-$70 cheaper. I feel like I was being taken advantage of because I clearly didnt know much about computers.
I was having trouble with an extremely sluggish laptop and called up Paul the Computer Guy. After talking with one of the technicians, I dropped my computer off suspecting either a hard drive that was failing or malware. Within a hour or so of leaving my computer, I received a call that it was in fact the hard drive. I was quoted a week or less to have the work complete. In 2 days my laptop was ready to be picked up with a new hard drive installed. The price was very reasonable, I didnt lose any data, and the turn around time was super fast. I will definitely use this shop again!
Pauls team was able to remove a melted hard drive from a very old macbook pro, salvage all 15,000 songs and hundreds of videos, and replace the hard drive in less than a week. They even updated all my old software and it was very fast and affordable. They do excellent work and my 2008 macbook pro is working like new! I would recommend PTCG to anyone!
Paul and his team are amazingly professional and talented! I highly recommend them for all your computer issues.
I had my 13 month old MacBook Air crash on me, and Apple Care didnt even attempt to lift a finger to help. Paul and his team took the time to research the problem thoroughly to discover that there was a recall on my harddrive! They found that out, Apple didnt! They saved the day. And their staff is awesome and dont treat me like a techno idiot (even though I am!).
Quick and very helpful! Highly recommended.
Adam Gaertners service is faster, friendlier and less $ than Paul the Computer Guy.My desktop wouldnt start after a power outage. We googled computer service in Bend, Oregonand took it to Paul The Computer Guy, who set a start price of $65 to run diagnostics, and told me it would be at least a week and a half return time! because they have to do in order of computers brought in, so mine to end of line, (though odd, they seemed to be helping the woman in front of me as a walk-in? told her to come back in an hour ... )So I called Gaertner PC , who had fewer online reviews, but better rated ones, (4.9 stars instead of 4.4),and Adam Von Gaertner immediately helped me on my arrival: within 5-min. took apart my computer and diagnosed the problem: the surge protector knobs on my mother board had all swollen and some were leaking fluid: I would need a new board, but the price of that wasnt worth the price of my 10-year-old computer, so Adam listened to what I wanted out of a computer, and got online with me and sorted through recommendations and what specifics to look for and helped me find my new computer at a best price; then he got all of my old-computer files off the harddrive and onto USB,and charged $45 total (incl the USB), which was $20 less than Pauls starting price, and all done immediately: the file transfer itself took over an hour so I did leave and come back.Adam Von Gaertner is highly recommended, very knowledgeable and also nice and comfortable to work with.& certainly we will NOT be returning to Pauls in future! maybe they are fine average I suppose, maybe this is just what a typical repair shop is like, and maybe would have done a just fine job -but really, 1-1/2 weeks? (I even told him that I do all of my work from my computer, and cant do any till I get it back.) 1.5-weeks just to open up the side of my computer to see that the board had been damaged? and then would have charged me $65 for that diagnosis, plus sounds like an extra $15 for USB, so all-in-all $80 -- approx. TWICE the price of Adam Gaertner, and 10-times as many days, and not at all going out of their way to be friendly-helpful , like Adam Gaertner did, who is very nice.By the way: I am used to really good helpful customer service wherever I go in Bend, - grocery stores, REI, ACE & other hardware stores, etc. - so when I find a place that isnt going out of their way to be friendly-helpful to me, it really is a rarity.
It was my own fault, I accidentally removed my root partition from the partition table. Home partition was fine. I just needed a media to boot from to reinstall Mint. Came in, asked Micah for a 4gb USB bootable with the Linux mint installer iso. I dont think he understood what I was asking for. He said hed have to call in someone else who was better with Linux (red flag one). I asked for just the USB drive and 5 minutes of computer time. He said he could sell me a 1tb external drive for $109 (red flag two). I really dont think he understood what I was asking for. I asked again for a 4gb thumb drive so I can take it to the library and do the thing myself. He wanted to charge $15 for it. I know what these things are worth. I said Ill pay $5 for it, was told no, and left. Across the street, Walgreens has 16gb drives for $6.Steps to do what I needed: 1. Download unetbootin. 2. Download the Linux mint iso from the website. 3. Click 3 buttons. Done.
Repaired a rather expensive and specialized Ethernet cable for me quickly!
Thanks Paul, appreciate the work. It allows me to work in different locations with ease.
At the time of this review, this place had 4.9 stars and I cant say Im surprised. The staff here are honest and courteous and more importantly were able to detect my old laptops problem and fix it. I really wish we had a shop like this here in Arizona!
Fair and honest. Very competent
Very reasonable price, exceptional service
5 star customer service
Easy going, fast, knowledgeable and friendly!
Great service.
