I really enjoyed this resort, its a bit more roughing it at these campgrounds. You do not get electric or water at the sites. Some of the camping spots are huge though. I just came with power stations and solar.The resort has a few items you may need, I would recommend stopping at a Walmart or such to supply up before getting here. You can get a 7lb bag of ice $4, beer a few bucks a can etc.I ate at the restaurant twice, the first night I tried the elk burger after spending a few hours on the lake. The burger was pretty tasty, it had a slight bit of the gamey taste but nothing compared to something like an elk steak. Those who might find the steak too strong for them might still enjoy the burger. The fry sauce that they have for the fries are decent but nothing spectacular.The second day I decided to get the elk chili to go. I enjoyed it back at the campsite. The chili was very good but the cornbread needed some serious work to it. The cornbread was just too dry and crumbly. It was also served with sour cream which I found odd since most do a honey butter or at least a butter.I would eat here again and support them. They are open all year long even during the snowy winter months.I would also say I had one of the best office views ever while I was camping.

Been a Bendite for long time. Figured Elk lake would be a zoo now days. Went on a Sunday about 11am. Was pleasantly surprised that it was not to busy. Found parking and nice place to enjoy the sunshine 🌞 and beautiful lake. Great for swimming, paddle boarding.

Just like in a movie. Beautiful blue lake, swimming, paddle boarders & canoes for rent. Have a drink at bar overlooking lake. Meals served in or outdoor seating. Rode to lake on horseback to get ice cream cones...there was a hitching post too! Lovely place. 💕

My parents rented a canoe and had a great time. My family went swimming and played on the floating docks. We went paddle-boarding. Had a picnic. Was a really nice afternoon.

Beautiful lake. We had a nice lunch and then rented a canoe and a kayak. A few days later I noticed an extra charge from the resort on my credit card. So I called the resort and left a message about the extra charge. Katie called me back a few hours later and got some more information from me. She would have the owner call me. He called later that same day and explained the “extra” charge was just the pending restaurant charge without the tip, which would fall off once the charge with the tip went through. The owner was very polite, even though the mistake was mine.

Beautiful spot! We almost left because we couldn’t get a server to even get it drink order in, but just as we got up to leave, a young lady apologized and offered to take care of us. So we stayed....food was good. Enjoyed sitting out on the deck.

Elk lake is a very freshwater lake... The fishing is very good lots of places to raft inner tube sailboat... The lodge has very good food nice bar very friendly employers little bit of a weight to get in for breakfast lunch or dinner camping RV Park cabins to rent very reasonable lots of trails beautiful sunshine hopefully your stay is as nice as mine has been....

Didnt stay at the resort, but stopped for lunch while out fishing. Very good location, granted there are not many options in the area. Had a unique cider on tap, which is always fun to find. Wings were very good, the rest of the food was good and the staff were friendly.

Awesome! Arrived there mid afternoon, rented a kayak and was out in the water in less than 10 minutes from when I parked the car. The lake was beautiful the atmosphere was great and staff were helpful and friendly. Had an awesome experience would definitely go again.

Camp is nice but dry camping. The toilets are porta potties, not vaults. WAY too expensive for what you get, especially since the camp ground literally next door is half the price with the same stuff. Overall the people are nice.

Visited in early August for the day and the food, drinks, ambiance and service were outstanding! We would love to visit again and stay in a cabin.

Great hamburgers in a beautiful setting. The sweet potato fries with house made garlic ranch dressing were the best Ive ever had. The friendy staff provided quick service. This is a great place to recharge after hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail.

We were excited to visit the resort this weekend as part or our bachelorette events. I booked a pontoon boat rental in early May as a surprise. The resort called in late June to “discuss the reservation”. I called back and left a voicemail when I was back in service. I reached out again the week before to confirm what we need to bring for the rental and finally received a call back only to find out they did not have the boat and were cancelling my reservation. This would of been great information to know in the original voicemail so I could have planned accordingly, not five days before after my original voicemail was not returned. Highly dissatisfied with the communication. I was refunded my rental fee, but will not be returning.

Great spot, had a couple of beers and hung out for some great live music.

I was not impressed by the cabin rental here. For the price, the cabin was very dirty. There was hair in the shower, dust bunnies on the walls and the floor. My daughter laid on the floor in the loft and was covered in dirt and dust. The cabin was not comfortable and no way to escape the heat. The venue beautiful for a wedding. However did not enjoy the cabin.

Great for old folks and families. Party Animals will like Downtown Bend and the Deschutes River far better

Worth a Nero or Zero day from the trail. Swimming and paddle board rentals. An area for walk in camping, restaurant and coffee. Friendly staff. I believe they still have a shower next to the restaurant.

I eat here 5 to 10 times a year. Food I give 3 stars. Youre really going here for the ambiance which is as good as it gets. I recommend AGAINST the elk burger which is rather dry and bland.

Ok. Youre coming here for a good time. Boat launch. Private cabana. Private doc.Here for a vacation with friends? Rent the private doc with bbq or the floating doc. They tow you into the middle of the lake and you can recreate for a few hours.Absolutely great experience. My dog LOVED IT

Its a nice restaurant and they have delightful heavy handed drinks accented with cold pressed juices. Highly recommend the Greyhound.❤️

Stopped by off the PCT and received great service and other visitors were friendly. A couple at the table next to us I chatted with paid our tab when they left.

This is a great place to snowmobile out to. There were 12 of us in our group and they did a great job getting us all taken care of. The food was good and hot. Just what you need when you get there. The staff is friendly and attentive. The wait can be a bit long and COVID isnt helping with that. So happy to stop in and give them our buisness.

A spontaneous day trip with the kayaks and a break for lunch on the patio was just what we needed.

Great place to have a beer and Elk Lake chili.

We did the snowcat/dine package and it was amazing! Our ride up great, food was fantastic, staff was spot on, and the drinks were stiff and cheap! Will definitely come back!

New years Dinner was great Margaritas were awesome. Service was friendly and great. Cat ride in and out was a fun experience.

This is a fantastic lake resort located in the Deschutes National Forest. They have cabins, a marina, restaurant and bar for guests to enjoy the lake to its fullest! Very popular place for everyone in the family! The resort is a must-see wonderment of Central Oregon! Friendly owners and staff make this place a sweet gem. ENJOY!

We rode snowmobiles there and had fabulous hot chocolate and food! Its a winter wonderland and waitstaff was very accommodating !!

Cool little spot right near the lake. Outdoor seating was all they had available at the time (COVID). I went for the blackened chicken wrap thinking it would not be that much food, but I was wrong. The wrap is a good size and comes with fries.I was very surprised at how good the wrap was (I kind of have low expectations for that dish overall).The RPM is also a delicious IPA they offer. Cop one of those too.

Beautiful and scenic.. Nice boat launch. Great for family fun. Swim. Float. Paddle board or kayak around the lake. It offers multiple spots to stop and enjoy the scenic mountains all around.

OUR NEW FAVORITE !!!Although Ive been going to Bend for a while now, were new to the Cascade Lakes area. Finding the Elk Lake Resort was like finding yet another gem among a gorgeous landscape. The Cascade Lakes area is full of adventure and fun things to do. You definitely need to make Elk Lake one of your stops.The resort itself was nice to visit, great people working there and an inviting atmosphere to hang out in.

Something there for everybody we even had some food at the restaurant outside it was nice waitresses were rude but overall nice place

I only give three stars due to Covid 19 restrictions. Any other time I would give it four stars.

Great staff, great experience. Stayed here for a Bend lacrosse tournament instead of in town. Totally worth the extra drive. The lake is easily accessible, great for paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming. Didnt get a chance to fish, but one of the resident staff said Sept was great for shoreline fishing. Cabin had all we needed. Just brought food. In the four days we were there, they had a movie in a large tent and a live band. Amazing place for family or friend reunion in the larger cabins. Will definitely return.

Closing down a event like a wedding at 8:00 is pretty pathetic. What kind of venue shuts down at 8? Sorry but as a Oregon DJ myself, I would never recommend this place to any if my clients. They would ruin a bride and grooms whole day. Never coming back.

Crowded but fun swimming ( brisk! ) andKayak and paddleboard friendly but watch for winds which make it a breeze going out and a herculean effort to get back to shore. HOT so bring water and sunscreen. Kids loved it. For our second day we went to otherside of lake but the wind seemed more severe ( made it easy to keep close to shore) but it also made it cold and uncomfortable to be wet. Lots of irritating people in this area ( obnoxious and drunk highschoolers ) that ruined the feel. Whereas the resort side had tons of mostly well behaved kids and teens.Really fun and beautiful place to spend the day. Highest recommendation.

Always a great pit stop on the annual roadie!!! Someday Ill prepare for a stay and time on the water, until that day Ill continue to enjoy the scenery and a beverage!!!

Its pretty packed but once you get out on the lake it is easy to feel like you have the place all to yourself. And the checkerspot butterflies are out in droves right now!

We stayed this past weekend For my sons wedding. We had a 3 bedroom cabin beautiful design. It had a few little quirks but they were easy to work around. It is a Beautiful resort nestled in the cascade lakes area. The Wedding venue is quite romantic and quaint. Staff for the most part waspkeasabt, friendly and accommodating. We were a large group of about 80 staying at the Resort and another 30 coming in day of event.

Beautiful place but gave it 4 stars because the beach isnt sandy.

Great little old school lodge type restaurant stop when out on the snowmobile. Great food! Friendly service. Hear its really cool on and around the lake in summertime camping etc.

Elk lake Resort is a great place for a wedding. I attended a wedding there and it was an amazingly beautiful venue. The catering was on point, nicely presented and tasty. The resort staff were very friendly and hospitable. I highly recommend this spot for a summer wedding.

Beautiful setting! Love coming to this resort for lunch on the patio. Tasty Reuben and beer bratwurst with a local dark beer. Anthony is a great server. Very positive and enthusiastic, too!

Our first time camping here. Upon arrival there was a guy under a canopy directing traffic. We had reservations so he told us to check in down at the office. There were a TON of people! There are NO signs indicating WHERE to check in. So I hiked back up to the entrance to ask where to go exactly. At check in the ladies were very nice and professional. I was disappointed that showers are $5! $20 a day for our family of 4 is a lot on top of the camping fee. There is only one place to get water in the campground so it meant hauling buckets back to the camp site daily, but bucket baths are free. The toilets are only outhouses but fairly clean. Overall it wasn’t terrible but not really worth the 4 hour drive for me.

I went there with my family for a mini vacation. We didnt stay the night, we went there while on our snowmobiling adventure. The guide brought us there for lunch. It is so beautiful out there with the snow everywhere. The food and drinks were pretty good, too.

Spent the day on one of the beach areas. Absolutely beautiful. The views are amazing, the water is perfect, and the atmosphere is very easy. It was a great day for our whole group including lots of small children.

Always stop at the lodge for lunch on my annual guided snowmobile trips. The atmosphere is rustic kind of old ski lodge feel. The food is great and the staff is very friendly.

Awesome lake. We rent a full size deck for 30 of our family members. Water felt great. Fun for all ages. Great views.

We rented kayaks and ate at the cafe. Very friendly and helpful folks. Beautiful location. The cafe really has a great selection for a remote location. Definitely worth the trip!

If the sun would have made an appearance, this day would have been perfect. The staff of Elk Lake are delightful. The music and the food were top notch. Campfire and view of the lake....epic! Looking forward to my next visit!
