The doors we ordered were not the doors which were delivered. We accepted the delivered doors rather than start the whole buying process over. The doors were installed perfectly but the transom did not have the proper attachment. It took several months and 3 separate visits to finally get the transom completed. The last repair tech was Danny and he was wonderful. Because of his persistence and diligence the job was finally completed. After these mishaps we are very happy with the final result

Richard was prompt, and quickly used shims to adjust the screws holding the door handle and latch hardware, so that they operated smoothly without the need to yank on the handle or risk losing the screw. We had a stellar experience today with Pella window installation by Don. As promised, Don called two days before the scheduled date to give a two-hour time frame, and this morning he arrived right on time. When you need a Pella Service Technician, the man you want is Don Spittle. He has the skills and experience to get the job done. Big Cudos to Don.I originally purchased a Pella Patio Door and have been very happy with it; however, the exterior aluminum cladding began to come away from the wood casing due to water getting in and warping the wood. Pella no longer provides replacement casing and that left me with a big problem. I certainly did not wish to replace the door, so I contacted Pella for service. I wont lie, there was some difficulty in arranging service; however, after some negotiation, service was arranged. Only the expertise of a Senior Service person could address the issue and thats exactly what took place. The cladding was placed back to its proper location and supported with caulking. Hopefully, this will extend the life of the product.

It took from mid-summer to Halloween to get our doors right and the experience ensured we wont start here when it comes to our window or any other door replacements in the future. The estimate and sales experience was strange and awkward. The gentleman seemed genuinely uncomfortable on our side of the mountain (as he kept referring to it). We knew we wanted to replace our french doors with french doors, and he kept pushing sliding doors because theyre cheaper. He made numerous comments regarding the high dollar sales they make closer to the Baltimore/DC beltway every day and how this side of the mountain (his words) was very different and didnt work that way. We eventually got where we wanted to be and the price was good, so outside of the sales experience itself, we were good. The gentleman that came to confirm measurements and the details of the order was meticulous, detailed, timely, and courteous. The first installation crew was also superb and installed our doors in late August. Efficient, polite, and excellent craftsman! The doors themselves were also beautiful and well made, except for one thing, which we noticed after they were installed. The door handles on the french doors werent level. The dead bolts were, but for the handles, one was notably higher than the other; the doors had been manufactured that way and there was nothing the installation crew could do.We sent photos and talked to the main office. We proposed a discount on purchase price (it wasnt an unlivable condition for us), or replacement, and they said they would do nothing but replace and that they would put the order in immediately...supposedly. A few weeks later, we are called to setup the replacement, and in late-September, the second installation crew shows up...without any doors. They didnt know they were supposed to have doors. They looked at our existing doors and confirmed that there was nothing they could do. We didnt blame them nor were hard on them, but we were definitely not pleased to waste a day of leave from work for absolutely nothing, nor to have been misled, and their office was made well aware of that. They put in a rush order on replacement doors, set up a new appointment for 10/31/19, and actually did bring new doors, without any defects (that weve yet found), and installed. The third install crew was also excellent. The doors are beautiful, the installation is excellent, well insulated and assembled, and well just have to see how it holds up (the french doors were only one set of two doors that were replaced, the other being a standard exterior door). So their field personnel, minus the salesman we dealt with, are all very good and we were very pleased. Everything else was subpar, to say the least, especially for an order just under $9K.

We ordered Lifestyle contemporary windows and a sliding door for our new construction remodeling project. The selection and ordering process was particularly strong, as the reps we worked with were incredibly responsive, answered all our questions, and priced out options quickly...all without sales pressure or shadiness. The windows arrived before their original deadline. Then after the windows were installed (by our contractor), we had a question about replacing the plastic locking mechanisms used for shipping the windows. Pella sent Don to our house to show us how it works. He was so professional and friendly, and also provided useful tips for adjusting and maintaining our windows to help them to last for years. Covid was not kind for this project. Replacing all the windows in my home was very painful. Financing took several weeks to be approved. Getting the details of the estimates took a lot of time. Delivery of final installation took 2 extra visits: weather, incorrect materials on truck, full order not being placed correctly. Im glad Im a detailed oriented person, or this could have gone sideways. Final install was originally scheduled for August 2020. Actually happened December 28th.The final product(s) are beautiful. I would recommend Pella, but be prepared to spend lots of time to make sure the details are correct.

It is now May 2021 as I write this review and not only has Pella Mid-Atlantic failed to adequately repair the damage, but they also fail to communicate. I have attempted to work with my project manager and she claims to have reached out to the installation manager and the operations manager, but still no communication. About a year ago I was looking to replace my front door. I contacted lots of contractors, including Pella. The Pella salesman came, asked for coffee when I offered water, and then proceeded to spend an hour pushing the idea of a Pella doorway!! And told us that because of some existing custom trim, wed have to rebuild the entire wall, replacing four existing (and perfectly fine) large windows as well. And it would be on sale! So many savings!!!! He said we had to have a mahogany door, not fiberglass. Its not a Pella doorway if its fiberglass!!!! It would only be $10,000! You heard that. Ten thousand dollars. We ended up going with a really nice door through another contractor who had no issues removing the custom trim, installing the new door, and reinstalling the trim, for a much more reasonable price.

I am thrilled beyond words with the box bay window that Pella has just installed in my home. What an amazing job by the entire team who worked with me ‒ from concept to completion ‒ to turn the idea of expanding my front picture window into what is now the sun-filled centerpiece of my kitchen.I’m so impressed with Pella’s creative approach, professional expertise, and commitment to do the best job possible at every stage of the project. The scope of this project went far beyond simply replacing a regular window with a bay window. It involved expanding both the width and depth of the window space outside the structural wall of my house, while keeping intact the dimensions of the existing window frame as an entry way. Almost like a small room built outside the exterior walls of the house. Needless to say, a unique idea that required an entirely customized approach. When I began searching for a contractor to take on this project, I must have contacted half a dozen window installers including Renewal by Anderson, Beltway Builders, Window Nation, etc. A few came for an onsite evaluation, others I talked with on the phone. Most would only consider a simple window replacement, the rest didn’t think the scope of the project was even possible or they were cost prohibitive.Only Troy Owens, Sales Specialist for Pella Mid-Atlantic, listened to my idea to create an expansive external space, and joined me in suggesting ways it could be done. He gave me what I thought was a fair and reasonable cost estimate and brought in their technical engineer, Ray Teacu, to confirm that the larger structure could be supported outside the window frame suspended above ground. Ray skillfully drew up the plans, outlined specifications and ordered the construction materials.Six weeks later, when everything was ready, Pella sent one of their top construction and installation teams, Robert Slominski and his Blue Sky crew, to do the job. And what an outstanding job they did!I was blown away by Robert’s skill and resourcefulness in overcoming every challenge. He reassessed the substantial weight load and, in an abundance of caution, called for his team supervisor, Aaron Smith, to pick up and deliver onsite an even heavier gage cable to guarantee absolute structural integrity. At every turn, Robert considered the best plan of action, explained his thinking to me, and proceeded with his construction crew of three to carry out multiple tasks as carpentry, wood cutting, frame building, masonry drilling, molding design, copper sheet roof cuttin and installation, and painting. The Blue Sky crew worked for two full days, 7am to 5pm, non-stop but for lunch and a few snacks I provided to keep them fueled. Aaron, Troy and Ray also dropped by at various times to check on the project.I’m so pleased with my beautiful and spacious addition. And I have such respect for the expertise of everyone I worked with at Pella ‒ from sales, to project management, to construction and installation.I highly recommend Pella Mid Atlantic to potential clients who are considering a similar project. I hope these images from start to finish show the remarkable results of a project exceedingly well done.

I had 2 doors and a screen door replaced by Pella. While the door quality is good, the installation was poor and showed little pride in the work. Sadly I went directly with Pella thinking the installation would be better quality and was told so by the sales team. I was sadly mistaken. Some of the problems: Caulking after hardware install which meant not any caulking by the hinges or door lock settings, missing caulking in multiple locations, many holes showing where there is caulking, replaced the doorbell and left exposed the wiring hole, a vinyl cover below the door poorly secured and cut with waves. It has been a week and no response from the installation follow up person after I provided pictures to alert them to the poor quality. Get their product through Home Depot or Lowes because it is not worth it with their installation team.

I purchased two Pella doors years ago and ha e been happy with them. Over the years Ive only needed to paint and replace the bottom sweep. Recently I contacted the parts department and advised what I needed. I never got a return call so after a week or so I called back and again gave an order. My credit card was processed quickly and several days later I received the two sweeps. I immediately realized they werent right and contacted them as to making a return. The lady who has I learned after numerous phone calls and Emails has absolutely zero product, shipping or return policy knowledge never as much returned a call. After several days I called asked for an email address and sent a very detailed description and multiple photos of the bottom of the door as well as the sweep attached, even pulling it off and photographing it. The email was sent and still no response. I called and the first comment was ....youre the gut who sent the photos. This time they asked me to send photos of the overall door, which I did. Again several days passed and no response. Lastly I emailed asking specifically as to the return policy and as if they have the sweeps..the response was ship them back and no we dont.Im sending the wrong product back today...at my dime despite them sending the wrong product. Lets see how long this drags out....any bets as to the over under on getting the credit? Based on service it may be a while.I gave 1 star only because it wont allow minus 1

Once again, Don did a superb job, and I love the finished look. Many thanks! My original kitchen window screens were purchased and installed along with my original Pella windows in 1996. They’re polished brass to match the window cranks and locks, as well as the sink faucets in front of it. I recently had repair work done to the window trim and the windows replaced after 24 years of use (when the weather allows, those windows are open). My husband and I began this process last year around April to order a new front door and screen door and the contracts were signed in June. In June, we were told it would take 16 weeks to complete the job. With COVID, ordering the new door, especially since it was custom, was going to take a few months. Fine, no problem! Finally the screen door was ready, but it was the wrong measurement. So they had to reorder the screen door. The screen door was finally ready, so they come to install the door but did it incorrectly, so they had to come back out to fix that mistake. The main front door was suppose to be ready by Oct and an email was sent on Oct. 14th and the sales rep told my husband and the door was still scheduled for that month to be installed. However, on Oct. 22nd the door came, but was the wrong size. At that time we asked them to install a temporary door because our old door had holes all in it and was not suitable to use while we waited for our original custom door. They re-order the door and tell us it will take roughly 1 month (Nov) for the new door to be ready. Nov comes and then we were told to wait until the end of Dec. The end of Dec comes and then we were told the end of Jan. The new door finally came Feb 4th, but guess what? Its the wrong size AGAIN. So now they are telling us it will take another 8-10months before they will have the finally door with the correct measurements. I dont think I have to say how wildly INSANE this has all been and how wildly unprofessional this company has been. You would think that they would have went above and beyond and triple checked everything to ensure measurements were correct. But no. So here we are.

Please take these reviews for Pella seriously. I am now 11 weeks into a basement door project thats still not complete. As others have said, the sales process is excellent and based on the overall Pella brand of reviews, you sign the contract believing youve made the right choice. I vetted a total of four vendors for this project and I intentionally factored in working with a local business for my selection process. However, I did not read this particular locations review. We originally had an install date set for the end of October; however, I was told due to COVID, there would be delays. I know things are challenging for businesses now, so I wanted to be supportive and understood this delay. I reached out several times to see what other options were, but no one responded to me, and the original sales rep became suddenly very quiet and slow on responses. (That should have been my first warning sign).Fast-forward today (three weeks later), and Im eager to get my door installed only for them to arrive and tell me the doors they brought are too tall, and they cant do the install today. I asked when they could do it, and Im told another 3-4 weeks, which would mean this door install could be a four-month process. If I had known this, I would have never worked with Pella. I use the basement door as an entry door for a roommate, which has been a tremendous hurdle for our household. Im sympathetic to delays due to COVID, but simply not measuring right (and wasting a customers time) is just gross incompetence, especially without providing any discount or compensation for a lackluster process and terrible customer experience.Good luck trying to call them. Youll get an answering machine message. At this point, I hope I get my door installed before the end of 2020.

My new windows are beautiful inside and out and have made my house more quiet and peaceful. Everything about the process was easy: from the estimate with the salesman to scheduling (including delays I requested due to the pandemic) to the install. The team was highly professional, efficient, polite and neat! I had nothing to clean up afterward. i would highly recommend Pella to my friends and neighbors.

From start to finish, this was a quality job. Robert was a GREAT non-aggressive sales rep. I had done my research and knew that Pella sold a great product. Unlike the other two companies that we contacted, he didnt say anything derogatory against his competitors because the quality of his product was so high. And given the quality, he had the best pricing as well. The installation team were so quick and efficient doing 52 windows and doors. They were incredibly exacting in ensuring the trim around the doors was an exact match to the rest of the home. So appreciated that detail! After the job was over, we noticed issues with two of the screens. A repairman came out at the end of the week to fix! If you need windows or doors, we would recommend them without reservation!

Our new doors were installed on Friday and the installers repeatedly called the supervisor to advise that there was a manufacturer defect and our doors did not close properly. They tried to problem solve for 2 hours and could not get them properly functioning. On Saturday the door would not close at all and we reached out to the gentleman who sold us the doors from Pella Tysons. No movement. Monday came and we were directed to our project manager who keeps saying she is waiting for someone to get back to her.I called corporate who said the complaint can take 48 hours for a manager to call us. I sent an online ticket. Ive emailed.Bottom line is the door does not shut, which means it doesnt lock. If it rains, well be in a lot of trouble as the door is OPEN. Pella doesnt think its an issue. So now, Im filing a report with the BBB.It literally looks like we found guys off of the street and asked them to install our Walmart doors. Our paint is damaged, trim too small, trim install is astronomical... it all needs to be replaced. Theres caulking all over one of the doors, damage to another, caulking on my hardwood floors and deck, the doors dont have the same key as requested. None of the furniture was covered and the drop cloths were so small they didnt protect the flooring. Pella videos (that helped us decide on the brand) showed men in uniform using Pella tape around each door and neither of those things were factual.I bet my house on the fact that even if the door closed, it would leak. Looks like well get to play that out in the coming days as rain is predicted and the door doesnt close. But hey, Pella isnt worried. They must have money to spend on replacing my flooring.

Don came out yesterday to pick up and repair my screen door. He called to arrange a time and he arrived arrived early, which I appreciated. He took precautions by wearing a mask and gloves which is so vital during this Covid19 outbreak. He was very courteous, professional as well as careful not to damage the door or my home. He picked up my door, repaired it and returned it the same day!Thank you Don and Pella for great work and a superior product.

I had a excellent experience with the installation of my sliding door. The contractors showed up early and worked hard throughout the day. I would definitely use this company for my condo again. The price is on the expensive side for what I picked out but I feel that it is money well spent.

I had told Pella Beltsville that the bottom panels of seven of my recently-installed double hung windows were slipping down on their own. In response, their technician, Mr. Ngoc came by today to take a look. He was very professional, neat, and courteous, had an N95 mask on. He found easy repairs for all of them (six of them needed a plug-in to compensate for seasonal expansions/contractions and one needed replacement of a broken spring) and completed the repairs in less than an hour. Everything was terrific!

I had a great service experience with Richard of Pella Beltsville. He was friendly, patient with my questions, knowledgeable, and efficient. He arrived early for the two hour service window, quickly identified the problem with our slider screen and fixed it quickly with a part he had on his truck. In addition to the repair, he patiently helped me decide whether our slider screens should operate automatically or manually. I was glad I spent the money to have a Pella expert take care of our repair.

None of our questions were left unanswered and we’re so excited to be getting our new front and storm doors installed! My husband and I are already working out getting all of our windows replaced by this company as well in the near future. Thank you again!

Richard came by to look at a door that Pella had installed three years ago and which would no longer lock easily. He quickly identified what was wrong and cleaned out and deepened the bottom lock hole, adjusted the door hinge to better align the door, and lubricated the lock mechanism. Richard was friendly, very knowledgeable ,and resolved the issue within a very short time. We have had Pella install several doors and windows in our house and are always pleased with the results.

They refused to give me what I paid for. (I paid for upgraded brass hardware and received the standard black hardware)They also tried to charge me for warranty repairs. They did some of the warranty work and acted like they were doing me a favor. They said the doors and windows were installed improperly. I used the installer recommended by my Pella salesperson. Both of them were present during the measuring and ordering. They boast about how great their warranties are. The warranties are not good and very difficult to get them to honor the warranty. You have to fight to get any service.Ive spent well over a hundred thousand dollars with this company.

Fantastic experience, start to finish. Great product. Sales were not pushy, rather very accommodating answering questions, providing pricing for various options, etc. Scheduling was to our needs. Installation was the best contractor experience weve had in 20 years of home improvement projects in Northern Virginia. Highly recommend!!

Had our Pella windows installed last week and from the initial measurement through the installation everything went off without a hitch and happened as expected. We were lucky and ended up with a double crew so they were able to install our whole house in one day. Every window and door looks perfect. We would absolutely recommend!
