Our daughter *loves* Mathnasium, and it has helped her go from a kid who missed almost 2 years of school for medical reasons to a girl in an advanced math class for her grade!

Mathnasium and Michael Adler are miracle makers. My math-resistant daughter came in late in the process to catch up and fill the gaps -- in 5 months in Mathnesium, without struggle and tears, she was able to accomplish what she could not do in years of school. Now she loves math! Mathnasium method of teaching is unique and unusually effective. All the teachers are great. And Michael is amazing manager and educator. Recommending Mathnasium highly!

We are grateful to have found Mathnasium for our child. Before we enrolled her, our daughter was doing okay with math in school. She wasnt struggling but she wasnt strong with math either which was fine. We look at math as something that needs practice. We would sit down with her at home with homework and we were able to identify that she understood the concepts but there would be lots of tears within that time period which would prevent her from doing her work within a reasonable amount of time . We asked for a lot of guidance from her teachers in school and followed their advice on how to help her at home to avoid the tears. From the way we ask questions to help her understand how to solve the problems and even adjusting how we respond to her tears, as we would also get emotional with her frustrated tears - with no success on both of our parts. So we decided that we needed outside help. We had to accept that there were some things we couldnt provide even if my husband does math for a living. We believe that the immediate task for us was to help her have a different attitude towards math if we wanted her to accept math as part of her life. Mathnasium was able to give her that. She does not bring her homework to Mathnasium, but her response to difficulties with her homework has really changed over time. Of course, there are occasional emotional responses on nights when she is exhausted as any normal human being would have. However, overall her attitude towards math has changed. Just the other day in the car, she wanted to know how many miles per gallon we get, so she talked through the problem out loud. And that is the real success, she now sees that she can use math to help understand the world around her, and it does not have to be a stressful exercise.

I highly recommend Mathnasium of Fresh Pond! Michael, the owner/director has been wonderful to work with and I’ve been impressed with all the instructors. In the six months we’ve been with the program, Mathnasium has filled in key knowledge/skill gaps for my middle school-aged daughter. In particular, her mental math has improved dramatically. I’ve been so happy with the program that I recently signed up my high school student as well. Here’s what I like most about Mathnasium: First, all work is completed at the Center with no homework. Even the school textbooks are available at the Center (for current homework help). So the kids don’t need to take anything there or bring anything home and there’s nothing for me to keep track of or remind them about. Second, my kids received customized learning plans based on written assessments that identified their strengths and weaknesses. I feel confident they are working on just the right topics at Mathnasium.

The staff at Mathnasium in Belmont has been great. They focus on what he needs and his abilities. Our son loves going every week. We know it is worth the investment.

Our daughter loves coming here. They make learning fun. She has improved her basic math skills tremendously by coming here 3x/ week.

Great tutoring and support for general math basics, homework and tests. Both of our Belmont High School boys have been enrolled since fall 2014. They actually like to go and are learning and reinforcing things we dont have time, energy or knowledge to teach on our own. My kids and I love Mathnasium! So far, in three months there has not been a day when the kids did not feel excited it was Mathnasium day. They are eager to try harder problems and for me- this is a dream come true! I did not love math when I was their age!

We chose Mathnasium for extra help with math basics and homework. The process is an evaluation test for your child, which determines where in the program they begin. You can sign up a 10 pack of drop-in hours, or a monthly subscription which is discounted. Your child will work with a variety of tutors, mostly completing worksheets, and will earn stars for sheets completed, which can be exchanged for prizes. The hour long session includes time for a game at the end, a nice reward. If your child is motivated by earning prizes, Mathnasium will work out well for you. You child will eventually be promoted to the next level, which is another motivating factor. Best of all, the tears and stress of extra help/homework you try to do at home, will disappear.

My daughter enjoys coming to lessons and feels very supported by her tutors. Its great to see her enjoying Math. In a short time, she has said that she feels more confident with Math at school.

Michael and the staff at Mathnasium are wonderful at making math approachable and easy to grasp. My child walked away from a year of going three times a week always cheerful and looking forward to the sessions and infinitely more confident in her math skills and ability.
