Melissa, a staff volunteer, was amazing to interact with and very kind and understanding. My trial adoption with one cat didnt go well because he wasnt really suited for my long-term life goals and environment and Melissa was very understanding of that and did not blame me. I had such a great impression that I would definitely look to adopt from them in the future and maybe even volunteer with them.

The Homeless Cat Network is a non-profit with two branches!1) theyre a shelter that is home to the cats and kittens that arent being fostered.2) theyre an organization that organizes volunteers to feed and care for feral colonies, allowing them to trap, and neuter the stray cats, as well as providing medical care.If youre interested in adopting, you have to call in advance (showing up to this building will get you nowhere!)Good people and good kitties

VERY DISAPPOINTED by this organization. Our family was interested in adopting an adorable bonded pair of cats. Filled out the Google application, answering all the questions. I’m emailed by Melissa who first asked if, for COVID reasons, would we be interested in meeting the cats by Zoom. It seemed strange, but I said that we could do that. Then, I received two additional emails that became very invasive. Questions about where I live, what type of money I would spend etc. VERY OFFENSIVE. Then I realized that I was being PROFILED based on where I live, which is in the East Bay. This organization apparently does not want to adopt to people outside of the peninsula, obviously who have a certain type of income and definitely where they can see what you look like.Unless you live in Belmont or surrounding high income, “demographic specific areas”, don’t count on being selected by this rescue to adopt. It’s a shame because loving forever families are invasively screened, even passed over, while cats sit being unadopted for months, even years.

The staff was kind and helpful. The counselor that introduced me to the kitty that I would like to adopt was very helpful in providing me with this cats history, temperament and answered all questions that I asked. The facility was very clean and they followed Covid-19 protocol in there scheduling and rules to social distance, wear masks and use hand sanitizer. I felt safe here and loved the sweet little man that I met!
