This is a lovely shop. The owner is very kind and knowledgeable. I had my ring resized elsewhere and the stone was loose a result. I took my ring to GVS and he fixed the setting. I wish I had gone to GVS instead of the first place! They do a great job with jewelry cleaning, and have a beautiful inventory. I highly recommend for any jewelry-related needs!

We had an excellent experience here. We got a new stone with a new setting put into my wifes favorite ring. The stone was from GVS, and all the work was done by the excellent husband and wife team that own the store. Weve now had the ring for a few months, and shes very happy with the quality of the stone and the workmanship. Their customer service was excellent, and the store is bright, clean and well stocked. This place is a fine example of really good local service from people whove been all over and bring a lot of what the find back here to the Boston area. Highly recommended place to do business.

I came here looking for a white gold chain to match my wifes locket. I got a great price for a really nice chain, and it was exactly the right specification for the locket. I even got help with getting photos to put in the locket. You can always order cheap stuff online, but you get the best treatment and quality from places like this.

I am so grateful that I brought my engagement ring to GVS. For the past 3 years the diamond would rotate in the head of the ring, and other jewelers had fixed it by tightening the head. Vladimir, however, fixed the root of the problem and showed me that one of the prongs was actually broken and I couldve lost the diamond altogether. He did a beautiful job installing a new head, and even upgraded it from white gold to platinum. The ring looks as beautiful as ever, and the diamond is the most secure it has ever been. I will definitely go back!

Just picked up my engagement ring from getting resized literally 10 minutes ago and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve been engaged for many years and my wedding is only 4 days away. My ring had taken some serious damage and the coloring did not match my wedding band. They resized and plated the ring to match and it looks better than it did when he bought it! Pickup day was one day later than originally quoted but they gave me plenty of notice so I didn’t mind at all. I know many people who have used this store and all rave about it. Stores like this just don’t exist anymore, such quality craftsmanship! 10/10 would recommend!

I got my engagement ring here, the owners are nice and the price was reasonable. I love the ring, he put my moms diamond in a new setting with rubies.

I ordered a custom made engagement ring which included emeralds in the design. The owner called me up and said it was done but when I picked it up he swapped out the emeralds with plastic enamel instead and never mentioned anything about it. When I brought it up he said emeralds were too weak to be shaped for the settings. He later admitted they could be but would take a custom cut. He convinced me he would fix it with some other stone instead of emeralds but then he said that couldnt be done either. He has fought me tooth and nail every step of the way instead of trying to resolve the issue in a responsible fashion.I would not recommend this establishment for custom jewelry.

I am thrilled to have found a great jeweler! Vladimir is talented and creative and skilled. I did not want to bring my favorite treasures to chain-mall repair techs, I wanted a professional craftsman and thats what I found, thanks to all of the reviewers here. One item that I brought to him was a name-plate necklace that has sentimental value and I still wear all the time. I didnt like how it would always hang off-center, and Vladimir pointed out that it was because the name-plate was fixed on the chain at both ends instead of being on a slide. So, he soldered little loops on the back and rejoined the chain into a whole piece. The name always sits at center now and his welds were soo tiny and neat that the whole piece looks beautiful. I would not hesitate to bring anything to GVS and ohh I cant wait to do a little shopping in his store!

My wife went here to get all three of our rings resized, and the owner was very helpful in determining the correct resizing for her. The quoted price of $330 for all three was a little high but not unreasonable (slight reduction of a 4.5mm band, slight increase on a 1.7mm band and 1.7mm band+pave halo). We decided to go with them for their expected fast and local service despite the cost.However, they never contacted us to pick up our rings - they said they would email, phone, or text when the order was done. After a week, we called them and they said the order had been ready for a while.Then, when my wife picked up our rings GVS suddenly claimed that the cost was $150 more than previously agreed ($480 total), even though the three items and $330 were clearly marked on the initial receipt! After agreeing to half of this increase in order to reclaim our rings without too much hassle, they then charged $450 to our card! My wife pointed out the discrepency, and they started writing a check for $45, but then changed this to $40.31 for some reason.I would never recommend anyone go here for service - extremely unprofessional when the time for payment arrives, and they might arbitrarily decide to charge more for agreed-upon service and perform the work without confirmation of the increased cost.
