We purchased a newly built townhouse in 2016 with Windermere agent, Nanette McDowell. Nanette McDowell had written an addendum to the Purchase and Sale agreement that had twenty-six items to be repaired and completed. We only discovered later that Windermere does not enforce legal documents between brokers and their clients.When the repairs remained unfinished, we hired professionals to come in and inspect the house. These professional opinions revealedover $70,000 of construction defects including three code violations. Windermeres attorney asked for the list of repairs and a budget estimate but did not respond after these were compiled and sent.Nanette McDowell has ignored our follow-up emails. It appears that this realtor is motivated more by a quick sale than ethical responsibility to her clients. Had she advised us to wait until the repairs were completed before closing on the home, this situation would have been averted. We believe Nanette McDowell would have taken different actions had she herself been the buyer.
