The Whatcom Chief and its friendly crew are part of the character of lummi Island. The ferry runs often, holds about 20 vehicles and only takes 6 minutes to cross Hale Passage. Its common to spot marine life like harbor porpoises during the passage.
The dock is nothing fancy, but the crew loaded us quickly and the crossing was very short.
It is always a fun time riding the ferry and seeing Mt. BAKER AND THE BEAUTIFUL sites. Nice crew and always pleasant
Love this ferry ride 🌞
Despite the traffic trying to get on the island these guys haul and haul again 👌 Easy going and respectful people running the ferry
Easy 6 min ride.
The ferry is very dependable and the crew is always great. They all live on the island and are an integral part of our community.
Very nice!
So beautiful
Coolio
The people on the ferry are sometimes nice. The price is reasonable ($13 for a car to the island, free from the island back to the mainland).
Great service every time
Very Nice
It’s small, but what can you expect for a small island. It doesn’t bother me at all, ferry comes back every 20 minutes or so.
Very, very tiny
