Came in 45 minutes before closing time and Noah stayed late to let me test drive two different cars. He even let me take my favorite one for an overnight test drive with no extra paperwork. I ended up buying the car, I loved it so much! Honestly, the smoothest AND most relaxing car buying experience. I never felt pressured, and everyone there was so nice. I will definitely be buying from Smith Kia Bellingham again. In the meantime, I couldnt be happier with my new KIA!

I don’t normally leave reviews at all but my experience at the Smith Kia dealership was so terrible I had to. I came in to purchase my first vehicle earlier this week and was working with Brice. It was the very first dealership I had ever been to and after finding a car I was interested in, was working with both Brice and an older man handling finances. Brice was incredibly pushy even after I expressed that the financial part of it wasn’t within my budget and I’d have to come back later. At which point the man handling the financial side of things came out to speak to me and not only insulted my intelligence, saying I didn’t understand how nice and valuable the vehicle I was looking into was but also went on to say that I probably DIDNT EVEN HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO FILL THE TANK. Unbelievable and offensive. Went on to find an amazing car, with help from the folks at Northwest Honda. Will never recommend buying anything from this dealership and will tell everyone I can about this terrible experience.

I worked with half a dozen Kia dealers in Washington State before purchasing my new Stinger. All dealers are a significant distance from me, so I needed to work with dealers that were willing to communicate via email and phone. Matt Nichols (sales manager) helped me via phone and email. He was courteous, prompt, and professional. While I eventually purchased from a dealer slightly closer to my location, it should not reflect poorly on Smith Kia of Bellingham. I dont hesitate to recommend this dealership based on my experience with Matt and will reach out to him again should I be in the market for a new Kia.

I can not say that my experience at Smith Kia couldve been any better. With in only 1 minute we were greeted by a super fantastic sells person Shawn last Sunday 10.13.19 he listened to what our needs where and then lead us to the cars. We had many questions about the cars. He knew all about his cars, didnt need to refer to the book for anything we asked. We took a test drive with him, as we drove around he let us know more about it. And offered to even set our phone to the cars auto phone app. Told us hed be there to help always. That day he was really busy some of the other salespeople had called in sick, you know flu season. So he had to help others also but gave us all the time we needed, and the others too but not leaving anyone waiting. I can not say anything but this was the greatest car shopping experience we have ever had. We had a Volvo to trade in, we had lost in the. Trade in a $20. Which we didnt even know we had lost when he found out about he called to let us know he had it for us to come get it. They have sent me lots of messages saying how much they have enjoyed working with us. Shawn is a very attentive person to work with I highly recommended him to be the one you need to find when you need a new car. We are excited about our Kia forte 1999. 😀

The work they do is satisfactory but contacting and interacting with them makes me want to shoot myself. They never answer their phone and the people I interact with act like idiots, customer service skills are low. I rather just take my car to Honda.Just to add on I was trying to order parts from them that they said I needed prior to my appointment so I call the parts department they transfer me no one answers and they hung up, literally can never get a hold of them. Also when I have time to actually go in I see that they ignore the phone even when theyre not interacting with people. Officially not coming back, dealing with them is too irritating.

Leaving reviews is not really my thing, especially negative ones, but after my last experience with Smith Kia’s Service department I felt I needed to. I brought my car in on April 6th after the engine was missing. They discovered a rat had chewed my wiring harness after I had left my car parked outside my garage for a week straight (a known issue with Kia’s wiring made of soy). We opened a claim with our car insurance and after 2 weeks of State Farm trying to get them to send an estimate they did and the $5000 job was approved. We should have had our car back the next week. When the pick up day arrived we contacted them and they apologized and said that the harness they received was defective and they had to open a “tech claim” with Kia and wait for approval to order a new harness?! A week later (still no contact) we called and were told they still had not received approval! April 30th I am contacted by Kia consumer affairs to see how my recent Kia service experience had been, of course I told him exactly what was happening, he seemed appalled and promised to call Smith Kia. Still no contact from them every time we initiated the call. Friday May 8th, once again we called and are told that they had completed all the testing required to prove the initial new harness was defective but they still didn’t have approval to put in a new one (they told me they had already ordered and received it) but that on Monday they would put it in even without approval and they would eat the cost if they didn’t receive approval. I was promised my car would be ready on Wed. May 13th. Friday May 15th I call them again and am told “we just received approval and he is starting on your car this afternoon it should be ready by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week” I asked to speak to the General manager, have to call back and end up talking to Bryce the assistant GM. He is slightly apologetic and when I tell him that not once was I offered a loaner from the dealership he says that unless I bought my car there they don’t offer loaners. Even after 6 weeks of delay 4 of which is KIA’S FAULT. Finally on Wednesday morning I receive a phone message from Kia Consumer Affairs advising me that they were told my car was done and would be ready for pick up soon. I wait until 2 pm (they close at 3) call and am told “He is having trouble getting some pins in correctly on the harness but is staying late tonight and it will be ready at 8 am” 8:30 am the next morning I am about to pull into the lot and get a call – Not ready, still can’t get the pins in!!!! Finally, I received my car back after they closed that afternoon, a salesperson had to take my payment. And to top it off my car was FILTHY, DUSTY covered in bird poop and no attempt was made to vacuum. Even for a simple repair or filter change I have always received my car back with a quick car wash and vacuum. You would think that 6 + weeks of mistakes and poor customer service would have at least warranted a quick spray down! HORRIBLE SERVICE – BEWARE! I will take my car to Burlington from now on.

I wanted some specific things that wasn’t on their lot- they located that particular vehicle and all my wants and needs elsewhere and I got everything on my list of musts! They are super friendly and helpful until you purchase the car then everything goes downhill. They offer free car washes and oil changes for life but when you call to try to set up an appointment there is never any answer. I tried to ask about it when i went to pick up my plates but the man helping me didnt seem like he wanted to and when he found my plates he ran off while someone else put them on as if to avoid anything from me. All they care about at the end of the day is money and I definitely regret purchasing from them as i did not get what i expected at all as well as the fact that their salesmen are extremely pushy almost bully like when getting you to purchase a car. Considering all of the dealerships surrounding them I’m sure you will receive better service elsewhere. At this point i dont even want the free oil changes or car washes that was promised to me upon purchase. I will never be doing buisness with them again and i suggest you steer clear as well unless you want to be bullied into paying for a car and not receiving what is promised as well as the car probably being a lemon as I’ve had my car just under a month and its already having issues when they promised everything was checked and inspected.

Kind and helpful Service Department - just had my Kia serviced last week. They even fixed my bumper which was just loose but I asked how much it would cost and they fixed it no charge. Car washed and returned to me within the one hour promised. Nice girl at the desk too. Very friendly people there.

Really great customer service from Jimbo, especially considering hes only been there a few months! I went to several dealerships and out of all of them he stood out as the best car salesmen I dealt with. Ive found a lot of times when I go into car dealerships the people act as if theyre just putting on a show and dont seem down to earth whatsoever; theyre only concerned with getting you to buy a car. Jimbo was completely natural, genuinely seemed like a nice guy and wasnt pushy on the sale which I really appreciated! When it came to getting the vehicle at an affordable price it felt like he was on my side and wanted me to get the best deal I could. He followed up with me several times before and after purchasing the car to make sure I was fully satisfied. Overall I had a fantastic experience with all of the staff at Kia and felt like I got a great deal! The only thing I would say is once youre in the finance room the sales felt quite a bit more pushy to get extras although it seems that is the case with a lot of car dealerships. Everything outside of that was fantastic though and Id definitely recommend to others!
