The McDermott team navigated through multiple unique situations to provide a wonderful master bathroom. We had a vision, but through renderings and space evaluations we had to adjust the vision to ensure the key elements were included in the end. As we a renting our home, being away during the process was a hurdle handled easily through online meetings, calls , and texts. Working through that, add COVID restrictions and supply issues, tenant schedules, and unexpected quality issues with tiles the team was still able to keep us informed and aware of issues. It took a little longer than scheduled, but all of this was outside of anyone’s control. Rob and Brittany were wonderful to work with. Brittany provided good product choices that fit out vision and Rob was able to find unique solutions when the unexpected occurred. We are happy with how it looks and look forward to actually using it someday!

J.T. McDermott removed a tub, installed a beautiful walk-shower, and we are very happy with the results. We especially liked visiting different vendors and checking out our tile and fixture options. The quality of work was excellent and we were pleased with the process from start to finish.

We had a total kitchen remodel, new flooring put in throughout the house and paint. At our first meeting with the team at J.T. McDermott we knew we were at the right place. Ron and Megan made us feel right at home. they listened to what we wanted and needed. Megan walked us through the design process with ease, took us shopping and they went all out with computer images as to how the kitchen would look. You wouldnt know it was the same house. Having a designer on sight is a big plus in our book! Brian (Lead Carpenter) kept the work going and always kept us informed on the schedule and updated us daily as to the progress and what to expect next. We love our new kitchen it is warm and welcoming. The colors are great and is perfect for us. Everyone was friendly, great to work with and very professional. At the completion Josh McDermott came by to do a small celebration with us and talk to us about our experience. We would definitely recommend J.T. McDermott Remodeling. They have a wonderful family feel to them that you can trust!.

I had a really good experience with J.T. McDermott Remodeling and would hire them again on my next remodel.I had my bonus room remodeled as it was a complete disaster. Megan, the designer, was excellent at giving me ideas that fit my style and my budget. Im one of those people who knows what I like when I see it, but have trouble picking out and visioning it. Megan was patient and helped me throughout the design process.Brian was excellent as the project manager. When issues arose, and they always do, he was always on top of it and very professional. The communication was good and I always new what was going on with the project. The whole construction process was run professionally and methodically. Im looking forward to my next remodel!

McDermott continues to amaze. That is why we keep going back. This time they rebuilt out kitchen counter and sink operation. Everybody that came knew what their piece of the job was and shared issues as they went so it appeared seamless to us. Work started on time and was done on time. I was worried from the beginning about this company when they repeatedly asked me if I had budgeted for the covered patio project. I told them I had it taken care of. Each contact with them they started with the same rhetoric - what amount are you planning to spend on the project? Each time I told them I was ready to move on the project. The initial meeting took 3 weeks. Way too long to visit my backyard and tell me the actual project with pricing would be divulged only after we rescheduled another meeting in their office in another 3 weeks. I waited till the day before the meeting and called to confirm the appointment. I was told that unfortunately my meeting would have to be rescheduled as the person whom I was to meet with was on their summer vacation. You would think knowing when their vacation was would have been considered before setting my appointment.Anyways, they told me to expect to spend 10-15k on the project when they were in my backyard taking measurements. Then after I called to confirm the meeting I was told the price would be no less than 35K. 35k for a covered patio? I confronted them about the price and they told me the materials were much more than they anticipated. Im not sure how such a discrepancy could occur if they were professionals who do this type of work for a living.They may do good work but watch your wallets!

JT McDermott Remodeling completed a kitchen remodel for our new, old house. We are thrilled with the final project and grateful to have had trustworthy professionals guide us through the entire process. We worked primarily with Megan Gerdes (for design) and Rob Ledee (on-site lead contractor). Both were accessible, easy to talk to and offered solutions to the requests we had. Megan created the digital mock-up to allow us to visualize the final product, sourced my ideas, and offered suggestions that stayed true to the house, but also were in my tastes. Rob juggled the sub-contractors schedules and main construction tasks with open communication, and respect to our family while living through the renovation. We had a significant support-wall removed with our remodel, and we were not nervous at all about the process, and care that went into removing almost 100yr old bricks. The peace of mind that came with working with JT McDermott was worth every penny! We would not hesitate to recommend them!

Still, we aim for 100 percent satisfaction and hold ourselves accountable if we fall short.In reviewing your experience with us I found an email I sent to you July 7 which indicated that, after assessing the scope of the project, the cost would have to be increased to build it to your expectations.To achieve a successful outcome, it is imperative to be forthright with our clients upfront to eliminate “surprises” after a project begins Our clients appreciate this level of openness and honesty. As is standard practice, I even offered alternatives in line with your budget, but of the quality that maintained the integrity of the re-sale value of your house.Admittedly, we did push back your appointment and we apologized for having to do so. It was a busy time of year and we were working to fulfill our obligations to clients who had already invested in us.All professional level design build firms have policies like ours of asking budget/investment ranges. This is for the benefit of you, the customer.
