There was a time when this place had luster and promise. You can tell management or ownership is content as is. Food service is spotty. Takes a while to be acknowledged.Food is decent. Service is..well, there. Dont expect great. Cleanliness and presentation are out the door.The place looks like a warehouse that has tables in case you are hungry. Storage is incorporated into the eating experience which is mind blowing. The place is run down and dilapidated.If you need a fix..I guess. I always try to keep it positive but this place was a challenge...sorry 😞

My dad would always take me here when I was a kid, when I would visit him from time to time, we would go here and it never disappoints!!Ive never had anything else from there except for the green wet burrito with chicken in itThe wet burrito itself is like around 12 dollars, but its very good and filling!!Now that Im an adult, I will try to visit here when I can and try out their other items, cause they do have a large selection!! This restaurant has been a childhood favorite of mine!!Definitely try the chicken green wet burrito!!

Amazing service, delicious food. Came here with my family as a kid, brought friends as a young adult, and look forward to bringing my own family someday. Very humble place with the spirit of a big restaurant. Cant say enough... Oh, and I do not leave here without ordering at least one cup of their special iced tea. Gotta have it!

This place never opens on time ... and if the schedule on here isnt correct then they need to update it. Ive called to place N order several times and just had to go somewhere else because they dont answer the phones! The food is good but obviously service and the front manager need a meeting ... ugh

Well both my son and I got sick I got the worse of it I dont know what made us sick. The service was great until only half our parties food got turned in and by the time the other half got their food the first half was already done then when we went to pay for the check they would not separate it but yet we could pay cash and card we let them know we were separate checks but so they could charge large parties tip they refused. The owners daughter was trying to help us and fix it but then the manager came and started yelling at her and us which was really unprofessional and rude... The server was sorry and tried to fix things and the owners daughter sweet food tasted good I wish I wouldnt of got sick.

Ok, so I so hate to do this because my Family and I have been coming here for many years with never any issues but we have been back 4 times since they reopened and there are 3 things I have to point out.1. There are never enough menues to go around.1 to a table and we have to wait until that one becomes available.2. It takes a long time for our order to be taken even when it is not busy.3. This is a big one. They no longer serve water in a cup. They serve bottled water from Sams club and charge $2 a bottle.They say that it is because Bell Gardens water is dirty. Ok fine I understand, but dont charge $2 for a 16 oz bottle of water. I buy the same case of water so I know how much the case cost. If they want to make a profit off the water then charge $0.50. They will make more than double back on that case of water.

They charged me $2 more than the amount the item was listed for on the menu. When I questioned it, they said that the computers are correct price and menu has not been updated. Shouldnt they let their customers know ahead of time that prices on menu have been changed? Bad business protocol!!!

Recently, I have been going on Fridays to enjoy the shrimp cocktail. Love it! Tons of shrimp with plenty of limes and crackers. Delicious! Plus they have the best ice tea. They also provide excellent customer service.

Service was horrible we asked for napkins, water, some chile peppers and they never brought it to us. We walked up to the front doors to ask for napkins and some water at least they said they would bring it and never did and for the rest of the service we never had any water or napkins. We were the only people eating at that time and they were running around stressed we were asked 3 times if they had taken our orders in the beginning and each time we answered no. I have never been here. I saw they had good reviews but I most certainly will not be going back when we couldnt even get water and me and my companion had to share one glass of water between us and one napkin that my cutlery came on that they forgot to bring and I had to ask for. 0 STARS ! I only put 1 becasue we have to otherwise it would be 0

Wet burritos and Micheladas are bomb, including everything else on their menu. They had Quinto Sol who played on Saturday, March 9th, 2019. It was alot of fun and to catch up with friends who I hadnt seen in a while. This place is always a great time.

Service and food was great

They take long to bring your order however food was good tasting I had the chicken mole enchiladas with a salad and my date has the fish soup. With some canela and patron shots the canelita was not hot enough had to ask them to worm it up some more.

Food is good. They also have a very refreshing ice tea. I gave them 4 Star because they take long bring the check and when I got someone attention to bring the check they forgot. I end up getting up and paying in the front. Also when I was there a witness one of the workers yelling at a waitress. It was unprofessional the girl look new and its a family place my kids should not have seen that behavior.

My wedding was ruined with the banquet which was close to $7500. Paid until 1:30 a.m and by 10 p.m. all my guests had left. Paid for happy hour and no bartender. My cakes were butchered and no one ever said sorry. All they want is your money. 3 waitresses for 200 people. The bartender was a girl who did not know the ingredients to any of the drinks. I would not recommend anyone to this place. Total chaos since day one and once you book no calls back nor money.

Let me start off by saying that the food and Micheladas here are great. With that said, Im extremely disappointed with this place. Ive been here a few times and every single time the service is horrible! Its like they forget were there. Also, their prices keep going up unexpectedly, and their debit card reader is always down so they ask you to write down your card # and info so they can enter it when it comes back up, very unprofessional and open to theft. My mom and I ate there a week ago and the total was $53 and change, a few days later she notices her bank statement and she was charged about $15.00 extra! This is theft! You can be sure we are disputing it with the bank and we are NEVER going to this place again! Save yourself the hassle, you can get good food and drinks at other restaurants and avoid being robbed!

Best Mexican food in Bell Gardens by far. Everything on the menu is delicious. Sports bar in the back is fun. This place is known for one of the best micheladas in Los Angeles. You gotta try this place.

Amazing food, good service, nice selection of authentic Mexican dishes, as well as combination plates to choose from. Very comfortable setting, nice atmosphere. The house ice tea, is some of the best in the business. Hands down. Its a little limited on parking, but aside from that I strongly recommend trying this restaurant @ least once.

Super bomb Mexican restaurant. The food is always good when i have gone. They also have a cantina/bar with some good drinks. Sometimes a little too strong but thats what were there for. Family owned so you get that home style welcome and atmosphere.Try the burrito de lengua con chili verde and theyre homemade iced tea lemonade, they never disappoint.

They need more server. From the start to the end you have to call their attention so you can give your order, to get your drink refilled, to get your bill and to pay. One thing that is good is that you get your food right away. It is better to order your food to go, you are in and out right away.

Just had the 7 mares seafood soup and it was really good. It had perfect seasonings and the seafood in it was fresh. I recommend trying it. You will be satisfied.

Order Chile Verde, pork. The pork did tasted like it had gone bad, but warmed with fresh sauce and made me sick to my stomach. I literally took one small piece of pork and immediately spit it out. They STILL charged me. Used to LOVE this place. Not the same after 5yrs. 🤷‍♀️

A family owned Mexican restaurant, Ive been going here for the past 20 plus years. The food is excellent, ice tea is my favorite drink here. The service is important to me and they know how to make you feel at home. Thanks to El Picante for such great memories.

Waiting time is too long. And we order flour tortillas and got maiz ones. Not nice.

Have been eating and trying out all kinds of Mexican joints and I have to say that this place is one of the best! The food here is very tastey. This place is way under rated and I see people eating at other Mexican places that are horrible and I say to myself people do not know what good food is . Its all in the TASTE. The prices are excellent. The service is soo good. Well we always get served by the same girl and she is soo good and attentive! I totally recommend this place! This place is like eating Mexican food from home! My mom who is known to be a great cook and has been asked to open her own authentic Mexican restaurent approves that food here is delicious!

Service and quality has gone down. We used to come here once/twice a month. We noticed two things on our most recent visit. 1) Service is horrible period. I asked for a refill of their legendary icetea and waited, and waited. Noticed the girls behind the bar chatting it up. Had to get up a few times to remind them of us. 2) would be the overall quality of the food. Weve noticed an overall decline in quality and most recently the blandness of their salsa. (It used to be addicting and very hot aka amazing) If I were them, Id start over and remove most of the service staff. This place has so much potential if managed right. Ill try back in a few months, hopefully Ill have a change of heart.

OMG this place has the best food hands down. Their tea is to die for, I suggest everyone try it. Depending on the day, the service can use a little help, but Sonia is the bomb. Also, if your lucky enough to catch them when they have Flan, it is the best. I will continue to go here as long as they can keep their service as good as their food.

Very good food, the iced tea is to die for. Its very popular, can get busy. The service is why I did 4 out of 5 stars, they arent mean they just get overwhelmed and have a hard time keeping up with the demands of customers. Otherwise a mus try!

I have been coming here since I was like 5 yrs old, my dad was good friends with the owner. I started coming back about 2 yrs ago at first everything seem the same. However recently a few months ago the service started changing, waiters take long and have somehow a unpleasant attitude. The molcajete is what I always get and the cook has changed is not the same one. They should highly better the service considering the cook is not the same. This is a family owned business I am sad that it has gone down the food was great the environment was great. Is not the same.
