I took our Audi to Chad because we had to be in Minnesota in a couple of weeks and he was the only one who could get it in, right away. It didnt need anything major, but I wanted the issues it had, fixed before we hit the road. It had a shake at 60mph and above, hard starting, needed a fog light replaced, replace the cabin air filters (which I provided).He said the alternator was causing a whole bunch of codes and needed to be replaced, and the engine mount on the drivers side was bad. Trusting he knew what he was doing, I gave the go ahead.After a week, I asked if it was about done. After several attempts to contact him he finally replied that he was waiting for the right alternator since he had ordered the wrong one. Another week went by and I told him we needed the car back now so we could get to Minnesota. He had a wedding to go to. So, we had to rent a car to get there and back.While in Minnesota I contacted him to see where he was on the car. He said it was finished. We got back a day early and picked up the car. None of the issues had been fixed and he charged me $1100. The cabin air filters were still sitting on the back seat; he didnt know where to order a fog light; he replaced the blower motor even after I told him not to as it was only 2 months old. Ive tried to contact him again but to no avail and now he has closed his shop. We contacted the bank and they reversed the charges but were still out the cost of the rental car. By the way, when I got home I jumped on the Internet, found the right fog light and ordered it, all within 5 minutes. Had it in my hands within 4 days.We took the car to the Audi dealership to have Chads work looked over and to address all of the issues he was supposed to fix. The engine mount had not been replaced. The alternator had been replaced but Audi said they couldnt figure why since theyve NEVER had to replace one and they dont throw or cause codes.Also, on his website, he claims BBB and ASE affiliation. In checking with both, neither have any record of him or his business. Outright lies.If Chad Allan Guenther opens another shop, anywhere, run away as fast and as far as you can. Weve discovered about a dozen other people who had the same experience.

My subaru needed headgaskets gallatin subaru quoted me 4000 dollars for repair 406 Auto did for half that cost car has ran great ever since i highly recommend them for all your car repairs i dont know what all these haters on here are talking about these guys are great!!!!

My daughter brought her vehicle to 406 Auto with a shaking engine. Service kept being delayed for 3 plus weeks; a huge inconvenience for my daughter. Chad called me to tell me everything was complete and that our daughter needed to take the vehicle to Gallatin Subaru to have the computer updated. Unfortunately I paid him over the phone, $890. When my daughter went to get the vehicle she said it was still shaking as bad as when she dropped it off. Chad said it was due to the computer needing an update. WE TRUSTED HIM! So we did as he said and took it to Gallatin Subaru. They said there is no computer update required for her vehicle and that basically everything he did needed to be done again. Gallatin Subaru report: Ignition wires have oil on them, spark plugs fouled, one cracked. Incorrect spark plugs for vehicle, ignition wires oil soaked. Found valve cover tube seals not installed properly causing oil to leak into spark plug well & damaging cylinder 2 plug & wire; replaced valve cover tube seal gaskets. Weve made several attempts to contact 406 to get this resolved....NO RESPONSE! We will be pursuing legal action.

Chad did amazing job on my Subaru my car broke down on side of road on my way home to Billings Chad was quick to get me in and diagnose problem thank you again!! I will be telling all my friends in Bozeman about them !!!!!

I would not recommend this shop to anyone. Probably not even for an oil change. I brought my car in on a Tuesday night after hours because Im a busy person and had to be up.for work the next morning when I had my appointment for my power steering pump, serpentine belt, and power steering return hose to be replaced and fixed. I call that Wednesday when he had my car to find out how its going and if im still able to pick my car up that night. Yes he says so I told him i wont be back in a valley till about 630 after his shops closed so I asked if I can pay for it over the phone and pick it up after hours. He was completely fine with that. Pulls up the total $500 well a week before that when we spoke on the phone it was $350 because I had the pump and the belt for him he just needed to order the return line. So I didnt argue I figured hey hes fixing it in one day illl be back tonight to get it ill pay that amount. So I got home at 630 as planned I called him and it went to voice-mail so I shot him a text just thought why not contact him before I drive all the way there. Nope car was not done he ordered the wrong hose. Well I told him what hose it was in the first place. I do my own mechanic work I know everything needed on cars I could have done the job myself if I had the proper tool, and shop to do so and if I were not busy. So he kept my car for over a week. Ignored my calls hung up on me when I called didnt answer text messages. Lied about replacing the hose still the same old one in there that I am now replacing myself. I had to call the cops and report my car stolen at that point he didnt leave my car out for me to get. Cops called him threatened charges he called back said the car would be done the next day and out for me so I texted him the next day and nope it was not fixed he wrote a receipt and claims he changed the hose did not. I texted him for my money back and nothing yet. So now Im in the process of pressing charges and filing up a small claims court to take him to court for. He lies has this fetish over keeping peoples cars from them and like to say he changed and fixed something and didnt than charge you for it. Sorry Chad you were dealing with someone who knows more about cars than you and you screwed the wrong guy. DONT EVER LET THIS MAN OR SHOP NEAR YOUR CAR. ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!! Good thing I have all the text messages and pics of the job not dont postings on dats and times he is screwed. Best of luck Chad you wont be having a mechanic shop much longer.

Brought our vehicle in to get the front shock and strut assemblies, oil change, and get our wheel bearing hub replaced. We are so thrilled with how fast he was able to fix it and the price. We got quoted at almost double the price at another place. He had a heck of a time getting our rusted hub off but he made sure to get the tool needed to finish the job! Highly recommend him! Seems like a very honest person!

Had them change 2 back spark plugs. They shattered one and told me a new gas cap would fix it. I bought a new gas cap and it did not fix the shattered spark plug. A new spark plug fixed the shattered one...

Took my car into 406 this morning with a engine light on. Chad explained everything pretty simply and straight forward. Had my car back within 4 hours and drove out smoothly. Definitely recommend 406 Chads a solid guy 👍.

I do NOT recommend his services. I took my truck into Chad about 5 months ago to have a rebuild on my engine. We paid him more then half of the money up front, to have 5 months go by with absolutely no work done. We have tried negotiating and working with chad but he refuses to do his Job. He has cost us more then the truck is worth at this point. Having to take him to court for a law suit on stealing our money. He has more than 30% of his work come back due to his poor mechanic skills. I have yet to meet a person who is happy with his work.. I will never recommend him to anyone.

Great experience with Chad. I went in for an oil change and he helped me with a few other things that the last place didnt completely follow through with. He explained everything in terms I could explain and was upfront with costs and needs. He didnt charge me anything over what his quote was even though he helped me with other stuff. He was fair and knowledgeable. It was nice from my perspective that they are a family run business, my son and theirs ran around and played together as we waited, makes you want to come back. I had searched Google and Facebook for mechanic recommendations and 406 Auto kept coming up, I am glad I took the time to drive out from Bozeman. They definitely have a new customer.

Are Subaru was overheating took it to 406 Auto they found that headgaskets were bad they made it very easy for us to understand problem and were very patient with us as we decided what to do we called other shops and they saved us over $500 on repair long story short are car has never ran better highly recommend them

Charges a $65 fee just to look at the vehicle. Wont give your vehicle back, unless you pay it. Even if you dont use their services.

Exsepnitnal service and pricing I wont be going anywhere else highly recommend these guys !!!!
