Julian did an amazing job. We were a big family so he had a very big group of people an he did great! I would highly recommend him the pics an the moments he caught randomly was amazing! His price was amazing for the quality of work. 😊😊

I have used Julian K for several events including work holiday parties and company picnics (events for 200+) and we have been so pleased with his work! We always receive great group photos and also very creative and lovely candid shots. We are always very happy when we get the photos back and see how vivid and full of life the photos are. He gives good directions to those modeling while keeping the whole photo composition in mind. I began working with Julian right before he and a business partner started to establish a separate wedding focused service, JJ Weddings. Julian K Designs was already his own successful business when I approached him for pet portraits of my cat.Cats don’t have an awful reputation for nothing. Even though he is allergic, Julian went above and beyond to get my kitty, Mr. Sprinkles, responsive to the camera and tried different angles and lenses. The photos turned out perfect (pun intended). At the end of the shoot Julian even suggested a few couples photos with my fiancé. He didn’t charge extra for this and we ended up using the couples photo (with Mr. Sprinkles) as our Save the Date photo.My fiancé and I were so impressed with Julian’s photography and his professionalism we asked him to do out engagement photos. We suggested an outdoor spot he had not been to. Julian went on his own time to scope it out ahead of time a day in advance in order for us to have the best shots and be efficient with our time once we arrived. During the shoot Julian made us feel comfortable and try poses we otherwise would have been too awkward to do or even attempt on our own. The final product were a mix of shots the focused on us, as well as the background to showcase Oregon’s beauty (my fiancé is from North Carolina) to show folks back home.Between the engagement photos and our wedding day we had adopted a puppy. Naturally we needed a family portrait – who better to go to than Julian K Designs! Again, Julian is great with pets and getting their attention as well as posing all of us just right to frame the photo best. He also showed up to our home with various lenses to offer the best array of photos.By the time we actually got married JJ Weddings was established. I still worked exclusively with Julian, however had the upmost trust that he and his team, whom I had not met, would do a great job – and they did! So happy with our wedding photos. At the time Julian lived in the Willamette Valley and the wedding was in Portland. Traveling was no issue for him or his team. As the evening progressed we even asked Julian if could stay a bit longer to capture the last moments of our day. He was very professional and committed to doing so and did not beat around the bush about an extra fee since it was outside of our contract.Working with Julian K Designs and JJ Weddings, was by far the most chill experience of planning a wedding.

Complete mess: awful photos, unprofesssional. I had a special request and asked Julian if he had knowledge and experience to do it, and he enthusiastically claimed he did. This turned out to be false, as he ultimately didnt. The first bad sign was that two hours before the scheduled time of our photo shoot, he called and said we urgently had to start right away. I didnt appreciate the lack of advance notice. The second bad sign was that he initially described the different cameras hed use to get different types of images, and he showed up with only one camera. So we didnt get the types of photos I needed. The third bad sign was that during the shoot, it became clear he didnt know how to pose/frame things or create interesting photos. While taking photos, Ihad a bad feeling theyd turn out lousy, and sure enough they were. The fourth bad sign was that as we were taking photos, a random person (with apparently some photography knowledge) approached Julian to give photography pointers. He huffed and got mad at them. Weeks later he provided the photos and they were AWFUL. Wed gone all around town to get different landscapes and backdrops, but the photos he provided were all amateurishly Photoshopped to hell, with all the backgrounds blurred out!! There was zero point in traveling to all the locations that we did. I asked him to provide the original, un-Photoshopped photos so I could at least have the backgrounds... and he refused! He said the photos belonged to him, that he only provides his artwork, and that providing the photos would devalue his artwork. What?? He refused provide anything further or give a refund. This was a pricey photoshoot that he charged me hundreds of dollars for. Nothing about his communication, photos, or service made any sense. Basically Im out hundreds of dollars and have nothing to show for it other than his nonsensical artwork, far different than the quality photos I need. Stay far away from this artist and find a real photographer.
