Really disappointed in this company right now. We rent a considerably expensive scanner & copier from them and my scanner has been offline for five days due to a server change. I was told that I would be charged a service call fee and an hourly rate to reset it, as it is not a malfunction of the machine; no problem. I am completely willing to pay for this service. After calling every day twice a day I finally reached a manager yesterday and was told that a tech would be at our office around 3pm. No show no call. I understand that times get busy, but this is completely unreasonable.

Poor service, poor equipment, poor business practice. Was told on the phone by a gentleman named Doug, ...we will file a lawsuit that will cost you a lot of money. Simply because we did not formally decline their contract renewal in accordance with the fine print of their contract. He was sitting with their in house attorney at the time of the statement. Had a super strange experience with them. One of their salesman cold called the business I work for a few weeks back wanting to send some information over- dont mind that at all. When the email didnt go through he offered to swing by to give some info and introduce himself- also totally dont mind that. He seemed to genuinely be doing his job to get sales and I cant fault him for that. I had mentioned one of our printers was on the way out but the specific software we use is changing and the software company recommended a specific compatible printer (in a brand they dont offer) for ease of use. I also told them we dont need their services at the moment but will hold onto the information if we do need something. He was kind and our interaction was good. Yesterday he called again following up to see if we had replaced our printer and I confirmed we had and explained again we needed that specific printer. He was again amiable and was seemingly going to let it go and take my word that I would keep their information on hand- which I was- and would think of them if we needed their services. Thats when his manager inserted himself into the phone conversation. I had apparently been on speaker phone this whole time unbeknownst to me and he explained how his salesmen was new and they were trying to get him a win. I was flabbergasted that he was trying to get him a pity sale. I pitied the salesman more that his manager inserted himself into the conversation and undermined him rather than his newness in the job. I felt like I was apart of the scene of mean girls where Gretchen was on the phone the whole time waiting for Katie to say how she really felt at Reginas coercion. I explained once again that we werent in need of their services- we had literally just stocked up on too much ink and toner and I ultimately didnt even make the decision- my manager did. It felt like I was beating a dead horse and they couldnt just let it go as I wasnt a prospect. It made me less willing in the future to give them the time of day. I also feel SO bad for the nice salesman I worked with. His manager was probably just trying to help but it felt undermining and not the right way to go about helping his employee learn and setting him up for success and support. It was super weird! Be aware you may find yourself apart of a 3 way call unknowingly! Again the salesman was kind and I was fine giving him the time to share information but the interaction with his manager was STRANGE.

As a college student who has been searching for an internship, I was happy to hear back from POA almost immediately after applying for their Sales position. I went through a pre-interview phone screening and I was then told to fill out a personality test to see if I was a good match for the position. The personality test took about 30 minutes to fill out since it was 6 pages and had to be handwritten. I immediately filled it out, scanned it, and emailed it back to the recruiter. I ended up not hearing from them for almost four weeks and had to email the recruiter myself to see where I stood in the hiring process. Of course I got rejected.I am not writing this to complain about rejection but to draw attention to certain recruiting practices that need to be improved upon. If a company takes the time to speak with someone interested in a position, especially a student wanting to get work experience by interning, I would expect that company to respond with an offer or a rejection. We are not entering the job market to have jobs handed to us on a silver platter, but there should be an expectation that, after interviews, hiring personnel can take 2 minutes out of their day to update you on your standing for the job.I never write reviews but, after having a few more job interviews under my belt, I felt that the way POA handles their recruiting is lazy and disrespectful.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PACIFIC OFFICE AUTOMATION!! They are a Terrible company. We leased a copier from them, it produced substandard copies and would not connect to our in-house network. Getting service was impossible and billing was confusing and sporadic. Now that our service contract is up they think they can unilaterally extend the lease an additional year due to some sneaky gotcha clause buried in the fine print of the contract! They are refusing to come pick up the copier, have threatened me with their in-house attorney and even called the Tigard police on me!!!Terrible, terrible company. Very disappointing experience we purchased a multiprinter March of 2019 with a one year agreement for maintenance and toner ....Great sales pitch although he was high as a kite all was good when we called for toner they sent us some although we were told they would come out and put it in that never happened we also asked when they were going to do the maintenance that never happened after a year they had enough guts to send me another bill for $800 for another service contract of course I didnt pay it. Now 16 months after $3700 it doesnt work and getting the part is impossible getting them out here is a nightmare. RUN from Lexmark and Pacific office automation. I believe at one time they were a good company but success has destroyed them...So Sad!!OK so they came out to fix the broken part that I diagnosed they brought out another part and it was broken, after 30 minutes of trying to get it to work he told us he was going to warranty the part now the average person would think he was talking about the old part not the new one he couldnt get working oh no he meant he was charging us for the new part that didnt work but dont worry he wont charge us for the next new part because hes going to warranty the old new part ....WHAT????? I tried to explain to him that that was not the right way to explain it but he insisted I was going to pay for the broken part wow talk about dense. Long story long hes gone and my printer still doesnt work.PS I am in the service industry and was amazed at the lack of customer service training.

I have been a loyal customer of POA for over a decade at several agencies I started. My biggest problem has been ineffective IT guys they send out and promises that have not been kept. I cannot get the equipment to work and it seems they send a tech and the tech places a band aid on the machine and leaves only for us to have the same or other problems within a week. Our office pays over $1,000.00 per month. It was explained very clearly that the monthly fees included the cost of service calls and that they were all-inclusive. The fees are automatically deducted from our Biz account. In addition to the monthly charge I find that I am now in their collections for fees I have no clue about. We call the service line and are told Your account is on Hold. I need to communicate with attorneys the courts and the state regarding the clients we serve. The problem is the fees are hidden and I continue to be billed charges for a machine that simply sits in an office unused. I could save around $900.00 per month by simply purchasing printers and ink at Fryes or Costco. At this point we are at a stand still. I may simply purchase a few copiers and turn the ones we have off because half the time they dont work anyway. Very misleading regarding fees and the machines are for the most part antiquated and do not work well. The service techs are generally nice but if the machines malfunction daily, they could send the nicest techs they have and I still cannot communicate with courts and others we do business with. They do an amazing job of selling me on their product but once I signed the lengthy contract, the service sucked and my rep(Lindsey Matthews) ignored my calls and texts until I complained to someone at the office. I was always happy with Lindsey and things were great until the machines began to malfunction on a weekly basis. So beware of the friendly attentive nature while they make their sales pitch. Any company can do a great job when everything goes well but its the exceptional companies that shine when problems arise. POA is not one that shines.People vote with their feet and I am looking for other options to meet my needs and will simply continue to contact POA until they actually fix the faulty equipment they sent. Word to those that are thinking about using POA... If you depend on communication and want good honest professional service POA is NOT the right choice.

This companys standard procedures are to entrap customers. The property I am at changed management companies and we notified them that we would like to stop using their service by giving them a 30 day notice. Turned out that the contract had just auto-renewed for another year past the initial lease term. So we were entrapped into another year of a contract with this company. To add to this they further will try and entrap you into a contract by making it difficult to terminate the contract. They have a policy that you can only give a termination notice between 60 and 120 days of the end of the lease. So i made sure to set a notification in my calendar to send them notice on exactly 120 days. Given all that information one would think they would up their service during the year that we were forced to use them to maybe keep a customer. Still did not receive prompt service from them when needed.

I am very concerned about this companys business ethics. I was wary about getting a printer for rent, because I work for a small company and we have printers with very little costs. But the two sales reps assured me that their printer rental would be less than toner costs. What I didnt realize was that they planned to charge extra for over 1600 copies. Since we print around 5000 a month during the busy season, you can see that would be far more than we are use to paying. And small businesses cannot afford extra charges. They sent out their printers a week early. They are not hooked up, we are still using our old printers. I told them to take them away, they would be too expensive for us. They refused. And they refused to honor their agreement, that this would be a 30 day trial. Chris boss said that Chris would never say that. But he and his partner did say that. And worse, they argued with me in front of our clients. Now I am going to contact the Better Business Bureau.

Turns out I was paying a lot more than I had hoped. POA was quick to help and ensure I wasnt going to be wasting money. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the increase in monthly costs year after year. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years, always paid on time, the tech support was responsive and effective but when it came time to cancel my services it was the most horrible experience. They tote that automatic contract renewal is standard practice which I feel is BS. Standard practice would be to either switch to a month to month contract after the 39-60 month lease is up, OR a courtesy call from the company asking what the customer would like to do. So they offer a buyout but then they put the cost of shipping on you which is an extra $400-$600.They will basically squeeze you for as much money as they can before finally letting you go. Not a good business model if you want referrals for future business in my opinion. So once again AVOID

After 45 years in business, made a big boo boo leasing from Pacific Automation. If they spent their advertising money on customer service, they would have a great business. Leased our color printer, scanner, fax machine in 2010. At the time we picked out a smaller machine, but when they delivered it was the more expensive one. We should have sent it back, but didnt. We were told the ink was free. Well, color is so expensive, we dont use it, we use our small machine for color copies. What a waste. Then I was set up and have to pay in addition to the monthly fee an overage fee. which this month is an additional $276.00. At the beginning of the 2nd year, the price went up. I called and they said, not so nicely, read your lease. It will go up every year. When I complained that I wanted to cancel our lease, they said our lease will automatically renew if we didnt cancel in writing 60 days before renewal. Dont break down or need their help, they sent a repairman out, but he couldnt fix it and kept saying he was trying to learn how to fix the fax. It still isnt fixed. I can get the faxes, but the other two people that should be able to pick them up, cant anymore.

What an absolutely terrible decision it was for me. This is my experience based on an interview I had. If you plan to apply here, you should be aware of a few things.I had several rounds of interviews, and every person told me I had great skills, my resume looked really good, and felt I was a fit. After a few hours of interviews, they gave me a personality test. I was told this is not graded, there are no right or wrong answers, which is not true, every test has right answers. Also, if all answers are correct, why are you giving me a test?Questions include personal goals, how often do I work out (why is that any of their business?), extracurricular activities (Im not in high school), hobbies, future plans, and some questions that are borderline illegal. Two pages worth of what describes me. How do others describe me?Ive never had any large, enterprise company ask these questions. All questions were quite obviously used to determine age and lifestyle.I was rejected. Not surprised. Im not an age or lifestyle fit. Every person I saw dressed the same, age 20s style, same haircuts, young and hip with an iphone or ipad.So if you are really young and prefer to work with the same age group, this is a the company for you. If you are over about 35, dont bother, you probably wont get hired.**********Reply to Dino:I dont believe you. The MAJOR factors, based on my experience, are age and lifestyle. This is the only company I applied to in many years with *seven pages* of lifestyle and personality questions. I think you are lying about the requirements Dino.

Do not use this company. I have leased a copier from them twice. They do not back up what they tell you. Once you have signed the contract the sale person is no longer available. Your first bill will not be what you agreed to and they will continue to keep adding charges throughout the lease. When I was thinking of a new lease, I was assured these practices would not happen again, however at only a couple of months on the new lease, they have added charges which I did not agree to in the original terms. They now tell me to look at the contact which is two pages in very small type which I received only after the machine was already delivered and step up. I originally sign something completely different with the sales agent to lease this machine and then they send this other contact with different terms.Dont lease with them unless you read every little word on the contact before delivery of your machine and want to keep paying over and above your lease.

When I started working with this company 8 years ago they were very pushy for me to sign up with them, eventually I agreed. Service was just fine though until as of recent. Now Im not at all sure what is going on with this company. I was charged twice for overage fees recently, luckily they recognized the problem and retracted one of the $800 overage fees. We moved locations and our printer isnt being recognized by the network. Normally when this sort of issue would happen we would just call and they would come by and service the machine. Never was there a fee. Now, for some reason we are being charged a fee because their printer that we bought from them is unable to connect to our network because we have a different router at our new location. They want to charge $165 for this service call, which I shouldnt be having the issue in the first place. So everytime a new router is placed they need to charge $165 because their stupid machine cant connect? Before this our scanner would fail to scan everytime one of our computers were restarted. This solution to this issue is to spend 10 minutes for each computer going into the printers settings by entering in the printers up address and entering in the new up address the computers assigned itself from restarting. It wouldnt last a week before being unusable again. This company has become a scam, not what they used to be.

I have a small business and used to work out of my home therefore I needed a small printer. Few years later my rep who I liked, gave me $500 and a new better printer for their promotion and into a new contract. Oh I thought this is great a better printer $500 and I’m only paying a few bucks more a month that’s a win. Our company grew and I needed a stronger printer. I am now on my 3rd printer with POA. They now charge me $605 a month with an allotment of 2,000 color and 1,000 black and white copies. Our other office in Washington got the SAME EXACT printer with the same print amounts for $300 a month from POA Seattle office. What POA did was roll my previous 2 printers into my 3rd and never told me!!!! I am now supposed to pay on 3 printers! Are you kidding me!!!! I did the math for the 60 months for 3,000 copies per month regardless of color or b/w. I am suppose to pay $.20 per copy!!! I was sold that you get a printer in your office to SAVE money on printing. My local printer does $.10 color and $.03 black and white. Why the hell would i pay that outrageous amount. Let’s take this a step further for 5 years I am going to pay $36,500 for a printer!? You can buy the exact printer I have for under $10,000. POA claimed I could trade up at anytime and never said Oh by the way you will then have to pay on what you traded up from and your new one.I contacted POA multiple times and they told me there is nothing they can do and I’m stuck with it. They are zero help and don’t care. All they care about it to get companies into leases that have auto renewals and then service them. I signed a contract with POA. How is it now CIT Bank holds the lease and I’m in contract with them. Now POA does not care because they sold my lease to CIT without ever getting my approval or getting notified.Few weeks ago a new rep walked into my office interrupted my day. I figured he was there to fix the issue. Nope! He was there “cold walking” in. Let me tell you he got a rude awakening.Only good thing I have to say about Pacific Office Automation is their turn time when you need ink and when you need service on getting a rep out there. Service is great, contract tactics are shady and unethical.Pacific Office you need to match the contact you offered my other office with my current contract for the same exact machine and service.

Update 7/28/2020: Finally bought out of the contract this January, but just recieved a bill for the last 3 months for overages in the amount of $468.16. This is during a three month period that we were no longer leasing the machine--we owned it. Just when I thought I was done with this place.....Absurdly high fees, I looked into buying our our contract, we have about 2 years left, just one multifunction machine. The amount to pay for the equipment itself is just under $1200, the amount to pay off the service portion is over $11,000!!!! $11,000 for two years of basically just toner?? That is some mighty expensive toner, especially considering that we only need to replace our toner maybe twice a year, and it would retail online for about $200. They say the fees are transparent, but in order for the fees to be transparent, they need to explain them. Please explain to me how your services can possibly be worth this much money???P.S. The last 5 star review was written by an individual with the same name as a person on LinkedIn with this description under her name: Marketing specialist: Ive worked with companies such as: NW Natural, McMenamins, Sunlight Supply, OLoughlin Trade Shows, NW Rugs, Pacific Office Automation and many more local companies to help them gain business, with the responsibility to get them the largest ROI. I have worked with Pacific Office Automation for close 20 years with 3 different companies, they have been excellent to work with. I would highly recommend them.

Star at POA is a ROCKSTAR and gets 5 stars. Nicole on the other hand is not so much. EVERY TIME I order replacement toners for our office she behaves as though you are bothering her and shes quick to get of the phone when I still need to add to the order. NO personality whats so ever! If you dont like dealing with customers.. get out of Customer Service. BE THE PICKLE NICOLE.. BE THE PICKLE!

There is a gal named Heather Chamberlain who is rude, unprofessional, and unethical. I simply asked her for different rates and she ended up screaming at me!! WATCH OUT FOR HEATHER CHAMBERLAIN!!! I am making sure I get this out so if you have to deal with her, you have been warned. She should be fired for her unethical behavior. HER NAME IS HEATHER BITZ CHAMBERLAIN!!!!
