If you are looking for a place to call home, I would definitely recommend checking out the Overlook. The grounds are well maintained, the office staff and management are helpful, caring, and responsive, the maintenance crew does a great job with requests and service, and the location is awesome with tons of amenities within walking/short driving distance. I have really enjoyed my time here.

This is a great place to live! The complex is well maintained with nice walking paths, maintenance is nice and very responsive, and all the managers on staff are great to work with. Theyve been great to work with even through the pandemic, being as flexible as they can with people. We used to pay the same in rent for a one-bedroom. We love having more space but still being able to get downtown for work easily.

This is the best apartment complex in the surrounding area. Great walking distance to everything you need. (Restaurants, Banks, Gyms etc). The maintenance crew always get the requests done within a few days and are super friendly. The office ladies (Bridget and Tiffany) are amazing (super friendly and always there for you if you need anything). Have been living here for years and never had a problem with neighbours, staff or outrageous rent increases. If you want a place thats surrounded by trees, that stays cool inside and is quiet..this is the place to live!! This property truly deserves 5 stars.

I moved into Overlook December, 2018 and have been delighted and very happy. From the beginning, the staff has been friendly, helpful; and if I needed anything around my place, it was addressed in a timely manner. The community is safe, quiet with the grounds and buildings taken care of beautifully. It is within walking distance of shopping, eateries and library. There are lovely places to walk, ride a bike or just sit and enjoy the sunshine.

We moved in about a year ago and the experience has been positive! Maintenance requests are always done within a day or 2 and the grounds are always well maintained and well lit. With security that drives around at night for extra protection.Bridget in the office, is always helpful and so sweet when I call or need anything!!I give the Overlook a definite thumbs up!! Would recommend for anyone looking for a reasonably priced apartment in the good part of Beaverton. Also pretty quiet. We don’t hear our upstairs very often so can’t complain.

My partner and I have lived here for over 4 years and we absolutely love our apartment. It’s perfect size for the two of us and our two kitties! Ryan, our maintenance man, is always so gracious and on top of every single request we’ve sent in. We also love and respect Tiffany and the rest of the team. All our neighbors are friendly too! We love our Murray hill family!

We loved our time at Those apartments, management was always easy to talk to and Tiffany always got things done. When our apartment was filled with the smell of a very harsh smell of cleaning chemicals, she put us up in another apartment tell smell was gone. We were there almost 8 years. Property was always maintained.

Very quiet and well maintained, older complex with more grass and space than typical of new complexes. Staff are pleasant, and non-intrusive and maintenance requests are handled very quickly. Safe, extremely pleasant place to live.

Update: Downgraded to 1 star. After saying theyll do a walkthrough after we move out, which is weird, they put a notice on our door saying theyre doing a pre-move out inspection. 2 weeks before we move out, because apparently they want to see how our packing is going, I guess? Dont live here. They treat you like its their place and they just allow you to stay here (if you pass your multiple inspections and pay a mere $1200 a month). If you wanted to live in the USSR, though- this place might just be a dream._____________________Good past experiences with maintenance team & good appliances- those are the reasons for the 2 stars Im giving. The other 3 stars could be earned by a professional office team with good people skills. This team does lots of inspections, and will tell you every time you do anything wrong, including, in our experience, regarding rules that nobody told us about. The verbiage they use is also quite condescending: Believe it or not [bird feeders] attract field mice and field mice attract coyotes! and Good housekeeping keeps pests, mold, and clutter away. To be clear, we arent be any means messy tenants- our apartment is clean, and so is our patio. We dont make noise after-hours, we pay our rent on time. Were ideal tenants, and this is how were spoken to.

Ive only had a great experience here with management and maintenance. They respond promptly and are pretty reasonable with rent raise and perks. I personally love that its cats only and they only charge a pet deposit, but no pet rent. Im going on my 3rd year living here and they are throwing in a free carpet cleaning with my lease renewal without my asking (which I planned to do). My place faces green area and stays pretty quiet, as well as Ive never been bothered by my neighbors once. Certainly one of the best living spaces Ive been in my 8-9 years in Portland!

Generally speaking, this is a fine place to live. Rent is reasonable considering the absurd cost of living in general for the surrounding area, and the apartment I live in has been fine, minus some inconveniences if you end up in the smallest apartments like me. I didnt have a lot of time or options when I originally moved in a little over a year ago, but even so, having to use a general laundry room is still incredibly inconvenient. This is also the first place Ive lived where people manage to make enough noise below me to make the third floor even more inconvenient than it inherently is otherwise. In terms of additional things though, dont expect too much. Additional on property amenities are effectively non-existent. Basically, if you want anything other than a place to live, be ready to throwdown extra money on monthly memberships at nearby facilities unless you have an exceedingly flexible schedule. This is definitely a low point compared to every other complex Ive lived in, even if it is ultimately a sacrifice that comes with having a smaller complex than many other places.Beyond that, no major complaints to note. Theres just plenty of room to do more to standout than simply expecting the surrounding area to do the heavy lifting, so to speak.

Very nice place to live for the price compared to the composition in the area. The management has changed several times since first coming in contact with Overlook but things have held together. The hot tub is awesome as was on all year around (when functioning). Service requests get completed in a timely fashion.

I do not live here, and have only interacted with the front desk staff/managers but I was very pleased with their help. I inquired about available apartments but unfortunately, I found out that they do not allow even small dogs! The staff seemed surprised by my question, as if it were unusual for an apartment to be pet friendly. Honestly, The Overlook is the ONLY complex Ive visited in the Murrayhilll area that didnt allow pets. What is up with that??Other than that, I was generally impressed with my visit. We also ran in a maintenance worker (or maybe just a contract worker) on site who was also very friendly and polite. Just wish theyd allow dogs!

I have lived here for a short time now, and I felt it was time to post an honest review for those looking for their next apartment.-The staff have been excellent and always polite-Very quiet apartments/community, (I work night shift) apart from the lawn maintenance crew, which is a necessary noise.-Auto pay always a plus.-Apartment was in great shape when I moved in. I believe these were built in the early/mid 80s, but it is well maintained and upgraded.Only real complaints, not even enough to warrant less then a five star:-The bathroom fans take some getting used to, the auto-on function is odd, but the nightlight is a bit overkill.-No bedroom light, you will need a lamp, but the socket is controlled with a switch.I will only be here for one year, so I will be back to update after i have gone through moving out.

AVOID MOVING HERE! AVOID MOVING HERE! DO NOT MOVE HERE!Five years ago, this was the best place Id ever lived. Two months ago, we left and I am so much happier. Im just going to leave a greatest hits of what they did.Earlier this year, we couldnt use our back porch for about six months because of power washing and full cleaning that would be done. We got notice in February. The washing happened in August. In that time, we were 100% not allowed to use the back patio. However, I bought some flowers. All flowers have to be approved or some such lunacy, so I asked them for permission, they said it was okay. I asked them if I could leave them in the sunlight. They said we couldnt use the patios, but it was okay if we would be able to move them at a moments notice for the washing. I said no problem. That was in March. Fast forward to August. We left on vacation. I double checked with the office to make sure our building wasnt due in the next five days. They said we were good. Great. Day 3 of vacation, we get a call. We have to move our unauthorized plant or be evicted. What?? I call them back because, well, it was authorized. In fact, it had been authorized, until it was knocked over and killed. How did that happen? The power washers did it. While we were on vacation. And they werent due for another week. I told them we were five thousand miles away and couldnt do it, could maintenance do it and try to save a bulb so we can replant it? They reluctantly agreed. I thanked them profusely. Then got home to find they threw away everything, including the plant itself.Speaking of patio drama, around March, we asked them for help with our smoke alarm. It made a sound like a dying pterodactyl. All I could figure was that the battery was dying, so I swapped out the battery. It made the same sound. I called maintenance, told them about the problem. They said theyd be right out. One week later, nothing, so I went to Youtube tutorials. Followed those, same thing, called maintenance again. They said they already had a ticket open, please dont call back. Okay. So, now its September. They still havent fixed our smoke alarm. I dont even think about it anymore. What I do think about is my autistic daughter who is OBSESSED with butterflies. At an end of the season sale, I found a bronze outdoor table with butterflies on it. It isnt hideous and pink, it isnt gaudy, its a pretty standard outdoor table that happens to have butterflies on it and it will actually get her out of the house. I buy it without a second thought, put it together, and set it outside. 36 MINUTES LATER, there is a notice on my door to remove it or be evicted. As Im reading it and trying not to sob in fury in front of her, they call. I had all of ten minutes to respond to the notice and theyre already calling me?? Sure enough. Hi, you need to remove that unauthorized table on your back patio.Id really like to get it authorized because my daughter is obsessed with butterflies and it will help her get outside. How can I do that?Thats a great question. Unfortunately you cant because that is not an outdoor table.Id be glad to bring you the packaging and receipt and anything else you need to prove to you that this is an outdoor table. If you look at your lease, youll see that we have guidelines for what is and isnt an outdoor table.Because I saw how this was going to go, I made her wait while I got out my lease and the best description was basically If we dont like it, it doesnt count. Okay, well, is there any way to change your mind? I would really like to keep this for my daughter and it IS an outdoor--I know this must be very frustrating but remove it. Any more questions?Yeah, do you want to fix my damn smoke alarm seven months later?Thats a great question. You do have a ticket open for that. Ill send someone right out. They didnt. So their priorities, for the record: Malfunctioning smoke alarm? No big deal. Outdoor table for an autistic child? GROUNDS FOR EVICTION.Dont move here. Stay far away.

I am planning on moving to the Portland area and was excited to find this apartment complex. I emailed back and forth with Tiffany and she told me they had avalibility. I traveled from Missouri to look at it before we committed and was thrown a curve ball when she told me that there was no longer avalibility. She had my email and phone number so she could have got in contact with me to tell me, but instead she waited to tell us as soon as we walked in the door. Sincerely disappointed. The common sense thing to do is to tell someone That you dont have it anymore so they can continue looking elsewhere before they travel across the country to be told no.

Two years of being a model tenant thrown out the window by shoddy and unprofessional management. Emergency intrusion made while I was at work to shut a window that wasnt open or in any danger of leaking for a power washing that didnt occur, damaging the AC unit in the process and endangering the lives of my pets during one of the hottest days of the year. When attempting to elicit any sort of apology or explanation for the aforementioned invasion, and to remind them once again that the abusive ex also named in one of the voicemails they left had, in fact, moved out eighteen months prior, I was repeatedly cut off, talked down to, and dismissed without any hint of conciliatory behavior or even acknowledgement that the handling of the situation was less than ideal. Instead was told (despite having a completely contraindicative conversation with the same agent not four months prior) that the pets in question needed to be approved and added to the lease and never had been - again, just a few months after a conversation with the same woman where we confirmed that small rodents didnt need to go through the same process as a cat. My fault for not holding her to that in writing, apparently - and my fault for expecting anything more than to be repeatedly interrupted, condescended to, and be furnished with ultimatums. Apparently prior issues with their service and ability to process payments properly were things I should have paid closer to attention to.In all fairness, their maintenance staff is absolutely exceptional, and very prompt and professional with their solutions. Just do not give management the time of day - they may seem like they care, but at the first issue, they will rake you over the coals with zero consideration for you as an individual.
