I am starting to think 3 stars it too much. We rented a truck in Colorado. Had some issues with the truck (because of the poor maintenance)on our 15 hr drive. Or should I say what should have been 15 hours. We purchased the most expensive insurance plan. Had to pay for a hotel for 2 days and movers that we didnt get to use and now I cant get a response from Budget or their insurance to reimburse us for expenses we shouldnt have accrued. I have rented trucks since then. But have used Uhaul instead. If they make this right...I might change my review.I had to go back in and do a update I forgot to do...Budgets claims department made things right and reimbursed me for my expenses and the moving crew I didnt get to use. They do back their trucks and the insurance is recommended. I had no problem getting my claim paid once I reached out to the right person. So thanks Budget. I trust you now!

We rented a 26’ moving truck originally from Tuesday to Thursday. So two full days. When we went for pick up they didn’t have our truck only one that was damaged. So they downgraded us to 16’ and gave us an extra day (so Friday would be our last day right) we turned it in Thursday at 7pm. Then we are charged 127$ for an EXTRA DAY. Even though we were supposed to have it until Friday. I call to get the issue resolved. They are rude and uncooperative. Then they get mad, and out me on hold kid sentence because I asked to speak to a supervisor. They then kept me on hold for over an hour. And I had to hang up, and call back. The issue is still unresolved. Not sure if this is a reflection of this individual location or the company overall. But I’d rent somewhere else. I’d give 0 stars if I could, also. The check engine light was on in our truck and a tire was low on air. Don’t bother

We reserved our truck for the 29th of Feb but had to call and change to the 22nd and. We wanted a 12ft truck so they had plenty time to find and get one but had to get a 16ft and charged us the full price because our confirmation numbers werent in the system. Well after paying more we got a truck with an ehinie light on and employee was telling us that truck had been serviced that mechanic didnt reset the check engine light but we got another truck but I will never use them or recommend them and this location is in Hattisburg Mississippi

We reserved a moving truck a week and a half in advance. They called less than 24 hours before our move and said they “somehow” didn’t have ANY trucks available. Not a smaller truck. Not a bigger truck. Nothing. Said that we’d have to drive to Louisiana if we wanted one from them.

Picked up a truck in Phoenix, drove to Houston. 12 foot truck carrying only a queen size mattress and box spring and a few bags of clothes. Truck was great until you hit 70, hit a bump and the truck bounced left to right, almost flipped twice. Got the worst gas mileage I have ever had in a rental truck, I rented a 16 foot, fully loaded, plus pulling a full size 97 Cherokee on a flatbed, spend 260 on gas on an 1100 mile trip, spent 460 on a virtually empty 12 foot with suspension issues on a 1300 mile trip 3 months later. Called customer service after not being able to get through to the pickup or drop off location for 2 days only to be told that she called the drop off location and they said the truck seemed fine. So apparently I was lying, she was a bit snooty when I said it was wierd that I called for three days to get them to even close the order so I could complain, but in 2 minutes, she called and they had tested the truck, which is in an airport with no garage, and it was fine. I rent trucks all the time, sometimes 2 or 3 times a year, as I am a traveling musician. Do yourself a favor, call U-Haul, its a little more expensive, but the trucks are great, and you can call customer service and talk to someone who actually speaks English, not some half Arabic bable from some dude in Pakistan. In all fairness, the young kids behind the counter in Phoenix and Beaumont were great. Still trying to figure out how they set my pickup location 47 miles from my house when there was one 3 miles away with a matching truck, and the drop off location was 100 miles, as I was told to schedule the truck online and it would be cheaper, and I was told to pick the first location, as it would be my closest. Then was told nobody there would have told me that. Even the kids behind the counter in both locations said that customer service was useless there... They werent kidding. U-Haul or Penske will be my go to for my next trip, which will be in about 3 weeks, Ill never use budget again. If you rent from them... Good luck. Youll need it...
