Great experience all around. Very informative and honest. Quick turnaround as well, dropped truck off on a Tuesday afternoon and it was ready to go on Friday afternoon. Cost came close to lower end of estimate. Warranty gives you piece of mind, but no issues so far. Highly recommend this shop. The owner, Lee Stuart, actually cares about his customers, he took me in the shop area and showed me where the problem was. There’s not many business owners that would do that. I do not live in Beaumont but I recently took my Rav4 here because a family member who lives in Beaumont referred me to Eds and Im so glad I went! The car shop I took my vehicle to in the town I live priced me at an extraordinary rate and didnt take the time to explain to me exactly, details of what needed to be repaired and why. they also rushed in a couple days to tell me only general work that needed to be done. Eds was the complete opposite! they had my car for about a week but I appreciated that they took the time to figure out exactly what was going on with my transmission. Once I got my car back I had a minor concern and Lee took the time to explain the expected adjustments. I would HIGHLY recommend coming here if you have any issues with your vehicle; they are also reasonably and fairly priced!

My family has used Ed Transmissions since 1998. Though I was but a teenage driver then my family has always went here and now I know why. On Christmas Eve while on the hwy heading home I lost acceleration and had to have my vehicle towed home. Upon the dropping my vehicle to my home the tow guy stated transmission fluid was all on the bed of his truck. The following Tuesday I had my vehicle towed to Eds (would have been Monday but my keys were in my sisters car who was in Austin,Tx so she had to FedEX them to me) nevertheless the vehicle got to the shop around 2ish that afternoon. That same day despite 2 vehicles were ahead of me they managed to take a look and called and stated my Axle had broken from the seal of the transmission. The next day they called and asked for me to come down and take a look at what was going on. He explained and showed exactly what the problem was and stated the axle would have to be replaced then the transmission could be looked at. A new axle and transmission would have costed about $5,000 but he was going to make sure the transmission was ok first. On Thursday evening they called to let me know my vehicle was ready. I didnt have to replace or repair the transmission. Had i went anywhere else Im sure they would have said i needed transmission work. Eds has always been honest and upfront on what repairs were needed. If your seeking honest and quality repair work to your vehicle then look no further

This is the only place to go if you are having issues with your vehicle. I went to 2 different places to have my truck looked at. I did not like the way they treated me as a person. And they wanted me to leave my truck overnight to run test. I felt this was unnecessary and they were talking about replacing a lot of parts with a big price. So I googled transmission shops and Ed came up. I drove to his shop where I was greeted and was treated with respect. I enjoyed my conversation with all 3 generations that were there. Very polite and caring. They took time to look at my truck even though they were busy. I am going through financial difficulties and expressed that. They made suggestions on what could be done. Everything was explained and also the percentage of it working. (I really didnt have money to rebuild my transmission as other shop was talking about). They opened her up and flushed her out and changed the filter. They did this on the same day I went in. And it worked! My truck is running with out jerks and shaking! Thank God for this place of business! They were kind and respectful. And didnt charge me for things I didnt need. Honest business is hard to find. I highly recommend Eds. I have been doing business with Eds for 20+ years and have found them to run their business with quality work and integrity. There have been several occasions in which they could have done more extensive and costly work than was required, but, instead, offered me and honest evaluation of the problems and performed the necessary work at reasonable prices. I highly recommend these folks.Update. As an example of what I stated in my original post, I spent over $1400 in 3 different shops (replacing front end components) trying to get a problem in my truck resolved. Coming to think that the problem was in the transmission, I took it Eds expecting to spend several thousand $$$. Although he could have torn into the transmission, costing me big bucks, he did some investigation and found the problem to be a broken motor mount -- $300. This is the quality of work and integrity that I referenced in my original review.

Wow! All I can say is WOW! Just when I thought honesty and integrity was dead, Mr. Ed and Mr. Lee have restored my faith in the human race. Instead of automatically charging me for a new transmission, they chose to try the cheapest route first. And it worked!! Thank you gentlemen for doing the right thing. I will recommend y’all to anyone.

My biggest fear, when dealing with an automotive shop, is being able to trust what I am being told because I am no mechanic. That being said, I was treated more than fair here. I can confidently recommend Eds Automatic Transmission to anyone needing transmission service.

I recommend Eds Automotive without qualification. My experience there has been positive in every regard. The president, Lee Stewart, is knowledgeable, conscientious, and more than fair. When I had a problem with my Honda concerning a noise that I could not diagnose, he spent time analyzing it, came back with an accurate diagnosis, and referred me back to the Honda people to see whether they could fix the problem, since they had apparently overlooked it originally. In other words, he was not trying to create business for himself, but trying to do what was right. And it worked out great. So, good place, nice people, and excellent work.

If you want quality work, fast accurate service and Very fair prices THIS is the place to go!!! My husband took his car in at 4:30 and Lee called the next morning to tell him it was ready. and was only charged a very minor fee. I will highly recommend this place to everyone I know! Very impressed with their fairness and honesty.

The place to go when transmission work is needed on your vehicle. Ive driven 60 miles one way just to bring my two vehicles to Eds Automatic Transmission. Fortunately, Ive only needed fluid changes. I attribute that to Lee Stuarts honesty, trustworthiness and not selling me work that I dont need.

I had a car worked on by Eds 12 years ago, and just took a second car to Eds for a clutch kit. Eds is an honest transmission shop, you can count on their work and their word. Theyll never over charge, & while theyre poking around in there they try to find things that might need attention while the transmission is out. Who wants to pay labor to have their transmission removed twice? Eds really goes above and beyond to save the consumer time, money, and headache. And they could not be more pleasant.

They are the best in Beaumont and probably Texas ! These guys fixed my problem cheaper and better than anyone Ive ever dealt with in my 63 years. I highly recommend them.

I brought my 1995 GMC Sierra in for what I feared was possibly a major transmission problem due to having to drive in the flooding during Hurricane Harvey. Eds was able to diagnose, repair the problem, and return my vehicle within two days after dropping it off with them. The problem was a TP sensor on the throttle body injection system and nearly needed replacing. Total cost was well within reason and far less than a hit and miss diagnosis would have been. Thank you so much to Eddie and Lee who worked with me by phone and my son.
