Office staff is incompetent and full of excuses. They make appointments and then forget they made them $ is the only thing they care about. Jay berk is rude. I worked with Denise Eslinger, and she is a complete flake. Totally unprofessional, and incompetent. Will not do telehealth. Waste of time, and a nightmare of an experience. PLEASE RUN. Look at the other reviews, they all say the same thing... Disgusted

My first experience with Dr. Berk was the best I have ever had with a therapist/psychologist. As soon as me and my family explained the situation we were facing he was able to pinpoint the problem immediately and describe it better than we could. The office staff is very friendly and they are extremely on top of keeping us updated with our treatment. The bi-weekly group therapy is also very helpful as you can get opinions from others dealing with similar problems. My favorite program of his is the Perspectives Academy that they offer. I struggled to do virtual learning as there was no structure in my day to day academics. The Perspectives program allowed me to continue on my schools curriculum while I attended everyday at the office. They provided an Intervention Specialist to work with me and offered therapy sessions during the day as well. Never in my life had I felt hopeful about going to a Psychologist before coming to see Dr. Berk. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Berk and so do many other family members of mine. I made more progress in around 2-3 months than I did in 10 years.

Its unfortunate that I have to leave a poor review based on my experience with the office staff, as I had a wonderful relationship with my actual therapist. Nearly six months after my last appointment I received a collections notice despite the fact that I have not received a single invoice from the billing department over this time. This was an issue I had previously with this office as well. Its a shame that I no longer receive services from a therapist I got on with because of the poor practices of a billing department that does its job inadequately. Seeing as I struggle with anxiety already this does the opposite of help me feel safe to pursue the help I want and need.

It is awful i do not recommend highly

Got sent to collections from this agency despite the fact that they NEVER SENT A SINGLE BILL.I paid the agency in full upon receiving the notice. In the end, Berk is the one who loses money on this lazy billing practice sense they sold the debt because the office staff cant be bothered to send out regular bills like you would expect 🤷‍♀️Lost a customer.

I was never expecting to put a one star review but dr jay berk is a horrible therapist based on all the reviews those people got lucky i sent my daughter to him and he just messed her up same with others my friend took her daughter there and the outcome wasnt i good i would highly recommend to not go to him and find a better therapist

My review is about interacting with the billing person, Marianne Wensel.1. ) Bills are consistently sent months following the date of service. (e.g. service in January, first bill not received until May).2.) Once you are sent a bill, it is marked as being 30, 60, 90 etc days late, despite the fact that this is the first bill you have received. According to Marianne, they sometimes call instead of sending a bill. I dont know about anyone else but I am 100% not going to pay a bill over the phone unless I have received an invoice in the mail.3.) If you have any kind of questions, you call is *never* picked up.4. ) They do not even include an envelope for your payment so you must provider you own, not a big deal but this becomes an annoyance when combined with everything else.5.) Once you have mailed your payment, there is a chance they will lose it and not run your payment. When you reach out to them to inquire, you are sent on a goose chase for days on end.This is all made so much more painful because there is NO WAY TO PAY ONLINE. If They could have online bill pay it would make life so much easier!

Pure waste of money that is not worth anything

Dr Berk is phenomenal! My daughter went to 5 therapist before him, none could get through to her. Most couldnt even get her to talk. The first day he looked at her, knew exactly what her issues were. He let her know there would be no BS, but she also knew he really cared. The change in her over the last 6 months has been amazing. So glad we found him!

Called to see if they covered a particular field of psychology and they couldnt seem to give a straight answer. Instead, they wanted to get all my personal information and all other parties personal information. In the end, they were unable to tell me whether they even offered particular services. If you dont even know what you offer, how can you help others?

Working with the staff at Jay Berk PhD & Associates has been nothing but a pleasure and I have definitely noticed a change through different practices for electronic addiction. I highly recommend working with this practice if you know teenagers in your family who are struggling with this and are looking for guidance!
