Never taken a ferry in my vehicle... It was pretty cool!!! Short distance but I felt safe, it was quick, secure and men guiding you on ferry with your vehicle were awesome... They didnt rush me, clearly and affectively made sure my SUV had plenty of room and wasnt scratched, etc. Took good care of me... Definitely can say Ive done this now!!! Enjoyed it!!

This is a tiny quick ferry that has to be experienced! We enjoyed a gorgeous sunset last night when we were on it.

I am sure no one cares about this review from the county, but for what it is worth here it goes. It would be nice if you could get the other boat up and running. You were closed for over a year. I would think you could get it all running as it should, and with the Fred Hartman bridge situation we could really use it.

Take a trip across the Houston Ship Channel on the historic ferry boats located in Baytown, TX. The boats (William P. Hobby and Ross S. Sterling) have a maximum capacity of 10 vehicles. Crossing takes about 5-10 minutes.

It’s not the best but I know the companies around use them to avoid traffic ..a Saturday after 9 and Sunday after 9 is a good for tamiles .. in the weekdays avoid it at all cost 😅

I ride the ferry when Im not pressed for time and enjoy the short boat ride. There have been some nice improvements after they made post hurricane Harvey repairs. They have also marked the parking lines on the boats well which helps line up the cars better, safer and faster. Sometimes there is a long wait when the tankers are crossing or when traffic overflows from hwy 225 or I-10 on the other side.

Al
Review №38

Been crossing this ferry for years and since Harvey, it has improved so much. The wait depends on the traffic hour and what kind of vehicles are crossing. The ferry isnt close to the size in Galveston but gets the job done. Fun for kids that never been on one before. Cant get out of your vehicle because its small.

I used to love this ferry ride as a kid. Back then they had two ferries working. Now they only have one. I would never go here on a holiday again... Came to check out the Monument on spring break and sat in line for this ferry for an entire hour... Using this ferry wasted so much of my time and is very inconvenient with a new baby in tow. I could have drove around Houston in the time it took to wait for this ferry. So disappointing will not be returning. I recommend coming during school hours, in the middle of the week. The wait is not worth it!
