Called to cancel my account, two weeks later Im being charged for a new month. I called again, whoever canceled my account canceled my old account not the current one. Staff never seem like they want to be there. I get its work, but I clean a gas station for a living. Id much rather clean a gym.

My friend invited me to come with her and her guest to start working out at Planet Fitness. She and I went to go and work out one evening and get me signed up (she had just signed up the week before.) I gave them my debit card and was informed they needed my checking account info to get me signed up. I didn’t have that info and scrambles to try to get it online. I asked if they would just take my card and they told me no, though my friend had done it the week before, so wasn’t aware I would need it. We asked for management and a worker informed me there is no one on a Sunday night and he knows just what the manager would say. We asked him what we could do and he informed us nothing, they need my account information or I can’t work out. My girlfriend and I stood there dumbfounded with our guests, as the gentleman behind the counter was not going to help us. Very disappointing.

Surprised to see the improvents to the equipment and atmosphere. I do wish they would take out the 30 minute workout area equipment and use it for various classes. I go here almost everyother day, and I will see maybe one person(if any) using this portion of the facility.

Coming to planet fitness is amazing. The staff here are COMMITTED to making there people feel right at home and truly care about their customers!

Terrible employee behavior. Noticed two of your employees flirting and sneaking around with each other multiple times over the past few weeks. I find this very unprofessional and hope this isnt how you expect your employees to act. The last thing I want is for them to break up and unleash their rage on me when I am just trying to workout.

Bay City Planet Fitness is the place to go for your work-out. The staff is friendly and professional and cleaning is thorough during the entire hours of operation. There is ample room for social distancing. I appreciate their strict adherence to policies that keep our safety a priority.

I love the over feel of it here and the employees are always so nice and helpful I dont think I would ever go anywhere else

This location has improved since my last review I made. The hot water issue has been fixed, This location is unbelievably super clean, staff seem friendly for the most part. Restroom stalls all work and lock as they should. Lockers are ok, not a huge fan of the doors being grate like doors where everyone can see your belongings in the lockers but I rarely ever use them anyway. Im sure theres a security reason for that, not sure what but im pretty sure there has to be a reason for it. Everything works, and is clean. Over all my experience at this location is great and on the occasional times where it isnt they have always been quick to resolve it. Keep up the great work. 😁

Place is nice size lockerroom is large only complaint is the same on most places that there is only two toilets in the mens bathroom there is two urinals but that doesnt help

Love planet fitness its one of my favorite places to be. I hit the gym equipment then go for a tan and massage. Couldnt get better then that.

I don’t think I have ever been to a gym as clean as this one. I work at a hospital and i still believe they sanitize everything more efficiently than we do. I would recommend this gym to anyone! The manager is simply an outstanding human being and goes above and beyond the confines of his job description to make you feel as comfortable and welcome to this gym as possible. Him and his staff are simply phenomenal and inspire me to keep coming back. Thank you bay city PF!

SUPER CLEAN Gym

I normally go between 1am-4am and its so nice! Its almost like having my own giant personal gym! The night crew has been fantastic too! After one year I can honestly say, I feel better, stronger, and healthier, and pleasantly surprised. This is from someone that had never walked a mile on purpose in my life! I can easily pound out two miles or more now! The amenities of the black card are often the inspiration I need to get my butt there too. If I can look forward to a hydro massage, or massage chair and building a nice bit of healthy color from the Tanner, Im more likely to go. Interestingly, I cannot tolerate the natural sun but the Tanner does not bother me. My doctor told me its because they are different wave lengths. Im not saying its 100% safe, or not, but I can say I think its been good for me to get some sunlight. I do notice it seems to help my mood too! My purpose for going to PF was initially not for weight loss...although I did lose 5-10lbs...but for heart health. I needed to lose a few pounds but not focusing on that really took the pressure off. Now that I know I can go consistently and perform some of the workout options, I feel more confident to set some weight and strength goals. Im looking forward to an even healthier 2017!

Ive been a member of the Planet Fitness in Bay City Since it opened I love the gym & the environment. I have seen a few managers of the gym come & go but I can honestly say the current manager Jamarco is the best I have seen a great asset to your company. Runs a very clean well organized gym friendly & very helpful to all. You can tell even in the staff very friendly & happy! Makes you want to come back!

By far my favorite gym! For two simple reasons 1. Clean environment. 2. The staff is unbelievably nice, with willingness to help you out. Some go as far as to remember your name just so they can address you as an individual, and gives the place a welcoming touch. I will continue to stay.

I have brought concerns to Jamarco at the gym and he addressed them quickly. He always greets me by name and with a smile. He is very good at his job. You can tell he truly enjoys what he is doing. He is definitely an asset to your company.

Love coming here. My schedule is hectic so I come at all hours and it is always the same. Friendly staff, clean gym and locker room. Equipment always works and is available. The manager Jamarco is very friendly nice and easily approachable with any questions or concerns. He is a great asset to the company. Recommend

It is so strange to read some comments completely opposite of others. I feel most of the negative ones are from those who are negative people anyway. I’m on my third year there and the staff has always be pleasant and professional. It is clean, though I admit I don’t use the showers but have been there when they are cleaning them. The trash is emptied every day at the same time when I’m there. I enjoy it very much. I don’t know if it is good to mention staff members but one, in particular, has worked to learn everyone’s name and greats us as such Upon arrival.

Great gym, the trainer Vinnie addresses the clients concerns immediately. I found a loose foot rest on a piece of equipment and he tightened it right away. Thanks for a good experience!!!

Very good gym for beginners. It is easily accessible, has lots of machine and dumbell free weights. Only drawback is no free weight straight bars for deadlifts, squats, and bench pressing. Besides that it is a nice environment and has most everything else.

I joined here when they had a special for $99 a year. I was told as long as I paid the $99 every December that I was locked into that price forever. After 3 years I was told they no longer have that special and they refused to renew my membership for that price. I never went back because I no longer trusted them.

Well went to shower today and no hot water mentioned it to the 3 staff members on and was just told that they were having some issues......looking at the reviews it looks like the issues have been going on for at least 7 months...... probably time to address those issuesUpdate: the water was only down for 3 days 🙌

This location for Planet Fitness is really good. Being within the Bay City Mall, it is central to the area. There is an abundance of equipment, and black card members get the usual perks of tanning, massage, etc. The changing rooms and showers are adequate, but not overly spacious. I would have given 5 stars, but the staff has a small issue. Instead of interacting with patrons, they tend to have their backs turned and are gabbing with other coworkers. A little bit of customer service training can fix that issue.

Great atmosphere, equipment is always clean. General manger Jamarco is always there with a smile and always willing to answer any question you have. I came here temporary as my previous gym closed and now been here almost two years.

Went to Bay City Planet Fitness last night for the first time. The facility is extremely small compared to any other planet fitness I have been to before. Staff were friendly. I did my workout and hit the shower. While I was in the shower I heard a guy yell Is anyone in there. I knew four girls were in the locker area. One yelled that people were in there. The male staff then yelled back asking if he could come in. She told him yes. Now its bad enough that this girl had no consideration for anyone else in the locker room but male staff should NEVER enter an occupied female locker room. The liability to the PF owner is huge when people act so unprofessionally. And to be fair female staff need to be equally considerate of the male locker room. I am going to give this location another try when Im in town. I hope it is a better experience.

I was staying at the Fairfield which shares the same parking lot. A young woman named Carlie showed me around and I had a great workout. All the machines were new, clean, and in working order. They have a 30 minute workout room which has most everything you would need to do a quick workout. Great deal for the money.

They take whatever they want out of your bank account, not just what you agreed to when you set up autopay. Their billing practices are criminal. Now I see that they tend to spam information from cell services or whoever else they can sell customer information to, trying to get more hits for their shady enterprise. This is a really bad company. This is the first time Ive ever said anything negative about any company, you can check my reviews. This place is one of the last remaining true scams in the marketplace. The faster they go out of business the better.

They charged my membership to my card then said there was a billing issue even tho they took the money out of my account then my membership isn’t valid anymore. Now they took my money and membership and not only that they have a hard time being able to give me my money back. Now I have to wait 2 days until a manager is in to get my money back because of their mistake. Better off using a different gym or community center or anything other than this garbage

I love to give them a better view but Ill be going there as a guess one of my family members will be taking me there I called them they said they dont take payment plans where I pay $60 for 6 months cash or PayPal card be on file said he used to my bank account Im really safe the about my bank account they should give up people other option I love give in the five stars the bathrooms were clean everything was friendly there but they wont take my money

The club is nice, and has a lot of equipment, and the the staff is nice for the most part. However, if you like to tan, forget it! You get 8 minutes in a stand-up only which is hardly wiorth taking off your clothes. At that time rate, it will take a month to have a decent tan. Purchase eyewear that nobody uses anyway. Just kind of a hassle. Not my favorite club.

Decent cardio equipment, thats why the one star. Other than that, its staffed by power tripping high school students that feel like theyre trying to co parent adults. They wont take an upfront payment, no you have to give them your banking account numbers to withdraw funds. I feel like an idiot for actually giving them that info and now fear what they could do with it. Just a weird place to work out . Something feels really off there.

Unless you want to be sent to your bank first for a copy of your bank statement just to get gym membership then go then go somewhere else for a gym membership because thats what you have to go through to get a membership at planet fitness,What a joke,Trust me when I tell you if you want a good gym to use and be affordable go to Saginaw ymca there gym is twice the size of Saginaw planet fitness,huge fitness floor,indoor track,gym,two pools,spa,sauna,steam room,Trust me Saginaw planet fitness sucks!!

I have been coming for a little over a year and I absolutely love this gym! I would have given it a five star rating except the staff is not very friendly; they barely ever smile, and when you try to talk to them about something they give you short answers and it just feels as though they don’t really care about their jobs.

They provide everything that you could want out of gym and more, for a very reasonable price, and there employees are top notch

20 dollars for a day Pass? Access to your checking account (neither debit, credit, nor cash is enough to start a membership)? I think the hell not. Hard pass. Why did I even enquire? Who really knows: Ive worked out at this place 3 or 4 times, and 2 of those times IVE been the one judged for PETTY offenses (seriously, my track bag cant be on the gym floor??) which were really just fronts for judging a member who didnt look like a pile of human fluff. GTFO.

Not a bad place to work out, but I cancelled for the money aspect and I work in a steel foundry where I can get 10 hours of extreme workout.

Love it here! Mostly just use the tanning booths. They are clean.

Just dirty. Locker rooms are constantly a mess, same trash sitting 3 days in a row in the lockers. I dont use the showers because the always have other peoples soap left in them. I understand its a cheap gym, but at least clean the dam place.

I would not recommend this facility to any one in the Bay City area. My bad for not reading up on this place prior to signing a contract with them. The front desk staff was chaotic and unorganized even from the time I was trying to request a tour and become a member which shouldve been my first clue to the utter and complete disregard for customer service at this place. Too busy to help. The employees here are NOT trained in customer service. Both phone etiquette and in-person service are terrible.Like other reviews have said, there are hidden or unadvertised fees that youre required to pay under the contract. This seems to be the route that all 24/7 gyms are following though, so just make sure to read the contract or ask the questions ahead of time. Is there even a legitimate way out of the contract?I moved out of the area but was stuck under the contract, so I thought Id give the Planet Fitness in my new town/state a chance. It turns out the drive is too long and the gym is located in a shady part of town, so I decided to cancel.I sent a cancellation request through the Planet Fitness website and was told that per the contract I need to cancel in writing by sending a letter to the gym or visiting the gym in person. Since Im 2 states away I opted to write a letter. There was never any confirmation that my membership was actually cancelled. I had to call and ask for confirmation. Funny how they request correspondence from their members in writing but there is no correspondence back. Even after I was told that my membership was cancelled my credit card got charged. I called the gym to find out why and they referred me to the billing department. I called the billing department and they gave me the run around while they traced down my letter. The letter was dated and postmarked the 2nd of the month but they tell me they didnt receive it until the 12th of the month which is after the 10th of the month and per the contract the cancellation must be received by the 10th in order to be cancelled so no payment is processed on the 17th. We are literally talking about one business day! The 10th was a Saturday, the 12th a Monday. I find it hard to believe that it took that long for the letter to get there, and Im more apt to believe it sat either in the mailbox or on that mess of a front desk! Or because it wasnt a certified letter they disregarded it.No leeway with this company. The only way they would refund the payment was if I could provide proof that the post office messed up with the delivery... not going to happen. The time and energy spent already is way more than the payment is worth. We are upholding our company policy. At this point its the simple principle of customer service! Their mission is its all about you; NO, Im afraid its all about them!I have never written an online review in my life, but this company is thoroughly disrespectful and rude!
