The lobby is amazing. The rooms are amazing. I felt like I was staying in a 4 star luxury hotel. The breakfast was AMAZING. Breakfast is not free, about $14 per person. We got breakfast for free and here’s why:There was a roach in our room. In the bed. I’m from the Pacific Northwest, my husband is from Louisiana. I had never seen a roach in my life. I’ve seen cockroaches in movies. But I’ve never seen a small roach. They gave us a new room. We didn’t even check for roaches in the new room because we were so tired we just passed out. When we woke up we had a voucher under our door for 2 free breakfast meals.At breakfast there were potatoes, bacon, sausage, eggs. Different. Muffins, cereal, fruit cups, grits. The grits were amazing, the oatmeal was even more amazing. The staff were very helpful. I would’ve given them 5 stars had there not been roaches in the first room.I really enjoyed my stay.

We arrived very late on a Friday Night. The hotel is in a great location. The parking was in abundance. We were pulling a trailer and no parking issues. From the moment we parked to moment we got into our room everyone was so friendly. Everything was very clean and organized. The rooms are a perfect size. The beds very comfortable. The outside pool area relaxing. Breakfast was a amenity. BonVoy Members get vouchers otherwise its $14. Plenty of selection. I enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

This is a great place to stay. If the air-conditioning in the room that we stayed in had been working correctly it would have been wonderful. The room just never got to the desired temperature. I usually dont get hot during the night but I did while we were there. I am always cold but I cant say that because of the problems with the air-conditioning.

Do not stay here if you want to stay somewhere nice. The lobby is incredibly beautiful but it is clear that the investment in the property stopped there. There was a rip or stain on almost every single piece of furniture in the room. While I don’t fault the staff for upkeep because management is responsible for replacing things, they could have at least ensured the room was clean. There was hair in the shower, hair on the towels and stains on the towels. The drain in the shower did not drain properly so the water pooled near your feet. Lastly, it took forever for the room to actually get cool and we had the thermostat at 63. It definitely was probably at 68 or 70. I’ve attached pictures to demonstrate I’m not exaggerating about the rips and stains and general lack of upkeep on the furniture.I absolutely would never stay here again and it’s a shame they haven’t invested more because it’s in a great location.

I worked in management for restaurants and hotels for over 20 years, and Ive never put together a team this strong. . . PERIOD.From the moment I arrived, Michael the Doorman INSISTED on helping me with my baggage(I was wearing an air cast from breaking my leg months ago). He saw my air cast and refused to do all of the heavy lifting (pardon the pun). I was immediately impressed.Ms. D at the front desk was the most genuinely friendly persons Ive ever encountered in this business as well. She had mail delivered to my room, and took care of my needs and evenpre-emptively secured me a room close to the elevator due to my air cast.The food and restaurant service is PHENOMENAL (I havent eaten out much because its all right here and fresh and amazing).Last but not least, Sabina the daytime manager is the most understanding person, and a perfectly stellar individual that is magnanimously suited for her role.These specific individuals (as well as many others) made my stay here more than amazing. Even when they were busy, hectic, multi-tasking, they never failed to smile and make everyone that I saw in the lobby feel welcomed and special in their own way.10 out of 10 WOULD RECOMMEND!

Ms. Johnesia at the front desk was very accommodating to myself and family. She had great customer service along with a beautiful smile. The lady the bar who also bought us room service had excellent customer service as well. Everyone I encountered who was employed by the hotel was very professional. The drinks and food was great. The kids loved the pool and we enjoyed the outdoor bar with the fire pits. Amazing stay!!! We stayed 2 additional nights because we truly enjoyed the hotel. Thanks for the great experience to all of the staff.

The whole hotel feels modern, clean, and welcoming. We really like our room which has two beds and no carpet at all. The linoleum flooring and tiles make the whole room super clean and pleasant. There is no tub but the new and spacious shower plus the glass doors brighten up the whole bathroom. We will definitely come again.

My two best friends and I celebrated my birthday dinner at Tallulahs. Our waiter Cody was excellent!! Cody was very attending, personable, friendly, accommodating and just an absolute pleasure!! It made me want to be sure and stay at this wonderful hotel. The fire pits were such a dynamic view from our table.

Positive: I liked the value for the price and the access to the Mall (right across the street). I liked how clean and modern everything was. The staff was patient and kind, Negative: Breakfast was a little pricey for what was offered. In fairness, COVID was going on and I¿m guessing they didn¿t display everything they normally do. It had the feeling that it could have been upscale with many choices at one point in time.

Wow really great service. So much better than 2 years ago. I am so glad everything was clean and the front desk clerk was so helpful and courteous. It has made me forget about all the terrible experiences here in the past. Really is like a completely different place. Negative: For a hotel at this level, I would expect wifi and tv, you want me to pay extra for wifi, and use my own log in for netflix. this looked like a nice hotel, everything shouldnt be ala cart. also, continental breakfast would be nice.

Very nice hotel. Family friendly and felt safe. We used the pool and stayed in a suite. We left a very special purse with a debit card in the room when we checked out. We called a week later. They found the purse with the card and had kept it in a safe. They are shipping it to us across the country. They were so helpful and kind. We appreciate the honesty and courtsy it took to have this returned to us.

I shared earlier except ever thought of putting familys with children on a specific area as to cut down playing and slamming adjoining doors about 2a.m. like we experienced on our 2 day stay? Walls paper thin and dont take for granted 2 guest in a room it was 3 adults with 2 coffee cups. We improvise need handles or something to hang towels in the restroom

Great experience. I was a bit disappointed that they could not accommodate my request for a room with a bathtub. I was unable to soak in a hot bath the whole week I was there. However, overall, the staff was excellent and so was my stay.

Ill tell you something that travel agents dont want u to know. When booking hotels use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ They easily have the best deals on rooms! Much better than using expedia, tripadvisor, hotwire. Take my word for it!!!Have stayed here quite a few times - consistent experience. Great location. Good place to hold company events - large or small. Happening little bar area and good food. Clean.

Visiting for an event at LSU and it was a little further from campus but worth it! We would definitely stay here again! Negative: In room phone didnt work, ice maker on our floor didnt work, and the bar closed at 9pm on a Saturday night. The kitchen and bar both seemed overwhelmed but the hotel was totally booked and they seemed surprised people wanted to eat and drink!!

Upon arrival the aesthetics of the lobby was beautiful but the disappointment came once we got to our room. The Thermostat was set at 62 Degrees but it felt warm and damp; we waited 45 minutes before contacting the front desk and after some banter they sent Two technicians to look into the problem. We were told due design of room was the reason it wasnt cooling off 😒. Then they offered us a fan....a freaking fan in a modern day hotel.They were all booked up so we couldnt change rooms, no apologies no compensation; oh and lets not forget theres no free Wi-Fi in your room for free.

Would have been a much better review, BUT they are kicking us out into the literal freezing weather. Its 27* outside, hwy closures, bridge closures and we cant go home because of it. We asked for a late check out in case the roads open up, and/or possibly extend our stay if need be. Our late check out was granted and we were told to let them know if we needed to extend... about 2 hours later, we asked to extend because more roads and bridges were closing but we were told we couldnt! Weve been here 2 nights and NOW were not allowed to extend our stay, despite literally being stuck in Baton Rouge. Without a call or courtesy notice of rooms getting sold and becoming scarce, we are now getting dismissed into the icy roads to go to another Marriott location. The housekeeping staff couldnt even come into work this morning because of the icy roads! So, who is gonna clean this room to supposedly sell it to someone else who cant even drive in to stay ?!? The restaurant staff are having to stay in house due to weather, so obviously rooms are clean and held. 256 rooms in this hotel and half the parking lot is empty! A smart manager would extend people who are already here, thats a guaranteed room tonight! With roads closed, the upcoming reservations are likely getting canceled! The managers arent thinking this through nor do they care about Marriott Gold Elite members.

Place was very nice. Staff was very friendly. Only issues I had is that I went to the front desk last night and asked if they have a military discount she stated yes but she didnt know if I had it or not. She said talk to the front desk manager. I did this morning and she stated you have to be active duty or a government official. Never have I heard that. Either you do or you dont give a military discount plain and simple.

I guess this is one of the best hotels in Baton Rouge but it’s mediocre when compared to a New Orleans or Houston hotel. I arrived late in the evening around 9:30pm to discover that my room was given away and I was upgraded to a suite. Walking into the room, I noticed the wear and tear. Paint was peeling off the walls and the sofa was stained with either coffee or blood. The beds were not true queens but a double size. This made sleeping uncomfortable. The walls are paper thin and I not only heard people screaming at the pool but there was a domestic violence issue in the hallway. The shower was amazing and this hotel received three stars for the bathroom and the breakfast buffet. The 70s red carpet needs to go!

Positive: We have stayed here several times and are always pleased with every aspect of hotel: cleanliness, staff, etc. But this time we had issues. Negative: We moved from first room due to unworking thermostat. Around 9 pm new room got uncomfortably warm and even though the thermostat was set at a low temperature. We could not call because the phone was broken! Not a good night, but not the normal experience.

My experience at the Renaissance Hotel Baton Rouge was unsatisfactory. When we arrived, the door arrendant didn’t greet us or ask if he could be of any assistance. I was traveling with my elderly mother and aunt and he saw that we could’ve used a hand. Before getting the luggage out of the car, I went inside to ask for a rolling cart. The concierge informed me that I needdd to ask the door attendant for the cart, so I did. Mind you, he never greeted me before this and when I asked if he had any carts available, his response was “no, they’re all out right now, but you can wait.” I decided to go ahead and check in while I left my mother and aunt outside with our luggage to wait for the cart. While I was gone, another couple pulled up to the hotel at the same time someone was retuning a cart. The attendant immediately greeted them and gave them the cart that had just been returned although he knew we were waiting! He even avoided contact with me as he helped them unpack their luggage onto the cart. In total, we waited about 15 minutes for a cart and only got one because I found one inside of the hotel and rolled it out myself. The attendant never acknowledged this, apologized, and watched as I struggled to unload our luggage onto the cart. He never offered a hand like he’d done for the people who arrived after us. I can’t help but to think this was because they drove a luxury vehicle and were white. Fast forward to our time in the room. The walls were paper thin! I mean so thin I could hear the tv of the room next door to us and I could tell the tv wasn’t loud, the walls were just that thin. I could even hear the person in the phone vibrating in the room next door every time they got a call. Apparently they could hear us too because the next morning, they knocked and asked us to turn down our tv. The tv was not loud at all. Checking out, was difficult too, as there once again were no carts available and the same door attendant was of no assistance. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, ever. The ONLY positive thing I have to say is that the room was clean.

My wife and I were in town for a wedding 5/6 - 5/8. The check in process was very slow and at times only 1 person for 5+ people. The bar service was a 1 out of 5. The staffs level of customer service was very bad. As a Marriott Bonvoy member I was very disappointed with the level of service at this hotel and will look for a different hotel in the future if in Baton Rouge.

Nice location. Friendly staff. Masks are currently required in public areas. The rooms are clean and the hotel is taking solid steps to maintain safety and covid cleanliness. Stay wasnt anything special. Front desk was nice but every other staff I talked to seemed like they rather be doing something else. Room was nice but the soundproofing is quite bad, sounded like we had a tapdancer staying in the room above us. Paid $12.95 for internet that would cut out continuously and I would have to keep reconnecting my devices. Room AC would not go past 64° which was a pain and made the thick bedding more of a hinderance than a comfort.

Ok so when you first walk into the hotel you think wow this place is nice. It has a lot if nice looking artwork. Theres fancy decor all around and things loo nice. Its pretty clean though some of the floors in public areas were sticky. The elevator was super fast which was nice. They gym was huge and had lots of variety machines.We got to our room which was cool but the one thing I absolutely hated about the room was the inability to lock the bathroom doors. They were these fancy farmhouse styles sliding doors. I came with my husband and 2 kids and was walked in on multiple times. Also the breakfast people and front desk people need to communicate better.When we checked in we were told the breakfast vouchers we recieved from my husbands company were for 1 person and a guest so we got 6 to cover us and our 2 children for each of our 3 nights. Went down to breakfast the first day everything was fine. Went down to breakfast the 2nd day and the lady was like you need 1 for each person we were like thats not what the front desk said and eventually she gave up so the 3rd day my husband and I chose not to eat in order to avoid another sceen with the same lady.The bartender with braids at his companys events was awesome. She was nice friendly remembered us and our kids and the fact that I dont drink and perfer cold Coke instead.Also the beds where comfortable but the blankets were too thick and hot for a room that didnt get cold enough.Also the toilet paper holder in our bathroom broke and the TV in our bedroom never worked quite right. We couldnt get it to turn on when we wanted it to or off. Also it was unplugged when we first got to our room and my arm had trouble reaching it to plug it back in.

Linda is a very friendly and attentive as well as professional hostess when you first walk in. Nice bar/eating area. Good spots for events. Plenty of parking. Close go shopping nd eating. Positive: The floors in the room were a wood laminate. Negative: It was a bit noisy. Could hear doors closing all night long.

It was a pleasure having my brother’s wedding ceremony and reception at the renaissance. Ms. Tina and the staff at renaissance hotel went above and beyond to service us. I will be booking another event here in the future
