Best gym in Baton Rouge hands down, Professor Kevin has built a great gym culture where anyone can be comfortable and feel safe training. Kevin’s BJJ knowledge is world class and all of the assistant instructors at Bayou are top notch and bring a variety of different styles and skill sets to their teaching. This is our home away from home! My husband, myself, and my oldest daughter all train here. We have trained at other gyms before, and this is by far one of the best atmospheres we have found. Professor Kevin is an excellent teacher and knows his Jiu Jitsu very well. The other people we have met at the gym have been very friendly and welcoming. It has been very good for our health, as well as taught our daughter some very important values. We couldnt imagine training anywhere else!

Amazing place! Kevin is awesome and I have been a student here for over a year and a half. He rarely repeats technique and still has new things to teach us every week. The environment is great for new beginners and for advanced students of all kinds and ages.

Amazing place to take self-defense classes. The owner Kevin Bellard (a black belt) actually teaches the classes. He does an excellent job of explaining and demonstrating techniques. Bayou Jiu Jitsu has reasonable prices, plenty of parking, and schedules that make it easy to not miss any classes. I highly recommend this academy for self defense classes or Jiu Jitsu lessons.

Cannot speak highly enough of my visit to Bayou JJ&SD. Went for a private unstructured session with a few friends to learn some self defense moves and the like. Gym was very clean and well kept, and the coach Kevin was very willing to help us learn and teach us hands on what we wanted to know. Got a lot out of it and had a great time in the process. You can tell Coach Kevin is very passionate about what he does.

I was in town over the weekend and dropped in for a class. I was very impressed with the facility. They have nice thick mats, everything is new, the AC is kept cool, and most importantly everything is clean. Kevin is very open to visitors dropping in. If you’re in the area and looking for a place to train I would recommend you drop in for a class.

I was able to swing by for an open mat session while I was in Baton Rouge on a business trip. Professor Bellard and the other students were welcoming, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Next time I am in the area I will make a point of visiting again.

Our 7 year old daughter started Jiu Jitsu about a month ago and loves it. Kevin is a really good instructor and everyone is very nice. I would recommend his classes to anyone who wants to learn self-defense.

If I could give a 0 star I would!! First when my daughters grandma paid for her to go she was told that the form of payment couldnt be changed , so I couldnt even take over the payments later on. Then when she tried to cancel she was told their was a 6 month contract . I have never seen or been told about a 6 month contract, I never even signed a contract! He then proceeded to charge her account another $120 ! He has charged her account $240 in less than 30 days. Then he tells her its a cancellation charge and its done automatically by the computer. Their was NEVER a contract that stated this! Im not the first person this has happened too!

My son and I have both been training at Bayou Jiu Jitsu for years. Professor Kevin is a great teacher and hosts a great family atmosphere while providing intense training and professional instruction. Great discipline, exercise, and a serious mental game. We love it.

Bayou juj itsu is a awesome place. I was gonna take my son to a old friend of mine who is now a black belt in juj itsu and has opened up a center but after several contacts with him and not even a price given out I contacted Kevin. How glad I am that I did. This master has mad respect from all the people who go there and as good as he is, he still is very modest. I have no doubt that Kevin cares about my kid and that he will do a great job teaching him. Im even about to join. At first I wasnt sure if I could afford the uniform and he told me to pay him as I could and gave my son a new uniform up front on a honor system. He has been this legit and honorable every since. This guy is bad ass but cares and is very humble. He teaches his students to be humble and it makes for a great place and atmosphere to go to
