I have been staying at Alight for a year now and I have had a great experience. Every time I walk into the front office I am always greeted with warm and pleasant staff. Management has always been quick to listen to concerns and do the best that they can to resolve them as quickly as possible. Maintenance is phenomenal and respond to problems almost immediately. I am very satisfied with my living arrangements. I have no complaints thus far!

I stayed at alight for a year and would not recommend it to anyone. I was in building 1 and the the power went out 5 times, the first staying out for a week. The elevator never worked from the time I moved in, to move out day. Also no one had any clear answers for anything at all especially management, which was the most disappointing. They price gouge on you electric bill so save those especially your final one. The people in the office are all children who live there so be kind, but management is so sad. For real information call the main office in Illinois. I was excited to see a black women running the property but that went down hill quickly enough. One positive though, maintenance is quick to fix whats in your apartment, just dont wait on the elevator. The grounds are trifling. And so much more. I strongly suggest looking around first and making this your last choice.

The Alight is a great place to live as a college student. The property is literally a short walk from LSU and its neighboring businesses. The management team is very understanding and always gives me the service I need. Everyone in the office is understanding, lively when they greet you, and very intentional about helping their residents in the way they need. Maintenance works so hard to make sure the property is as perfect as possible for their residents. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience at the Alight and would absolutely recommend this apartment complex to anyone.

Alight Baton Rouge has given me the best living experience throughout my college years. My apartment is spacious and clean. My favorite part of the apartment is the kitchen. I have enough room to make delicious meals and host dinner parties if I wanted to. Everyone is in awe when they enter my apartment because it doesn’t look like your ordinary student apartment, it is so much better. The staff is always there if I have a question or if I run into any issues. I highly recommend living here!

I lived here a year ago and it was an awful experience. The room was spacious but other than that I hated it. People would pile trash by the stairs in every building because the one dumpster was always full. Our apartment then got charged for it when none of us had anything to do with it and the LANDLORDS ENTERED OUR APARTMENT WITHOUT ANY NOTICE while noone was home and took pictures of the apartment for evidence to prove it was us who left the trash by the stairs even though we just use generic bags. It was ridiculous and also shouldnt be legal at all ive come to learn because we werent given atleast 24 hours notice and noone was home to give permission and it was not an emergency situation so they should not have been able to enter our apartment and certainly not take pictures as some sort of flimsy proof the key fob gate was almost always broken, there was only one dumpster for the entire community in the very back parking lot and would always be overflowing with trash causing there to also be an infestation of flies and bees. Our A/C went out twice and we had to wait 3 days in the middle of september before it was fixed one time and it only got fixed then bc we ran into a maintenance staff member and asked when it would be fixed. We always had roaches no matter how clean we kept everything.

Didnt enjoy my stay here. Seems as though the 5 star reviews here are either paid actors or management in an attempted to bolster its ratings to trap unsuspecting prey... I mean customers. From my short stay here I can tell you I did not feel safe. Woke up one morning to gunshots and then later in the day found the casing to the bullets in the parking lot. It also seems funny to me that the true reviews ( those being the one star reviews) actually have thumbs up and people agreeing whilst the botted reviews (the 5 star reviews) have no support. If youre looking for a place to stay campus crossings on highland is very nice.

DO NOT LIVE HERE.I lived here for three years. I had problems even BEFORE we moved in. I was lied to and told that they could accommodate me and my friends. When we came a few weeks before move in, they didn’t even know we were moving in and “couldn’t find the paperwork”. Eventually, I was placed with the roommates I signed with but was told that the original guarantee of getting two apartments near each other was not going to happen.I was then told that I couldn’t pay my rent online because I was “untrustworthy” and my guarantor “wasn’t good enough for such a privilege”. They knew nothing about me other than our credit which was not untrustworthy by any means. After that, things did not get easier. Surprise charges and fraudulent fees appeared on my account. The managers argued that the charges were for damage that they could not show me. We still had to pay them though. Our air conditioner broke about once a month since I moved in. Our dryer broke about 4 times. The maintenance guys themselves are great, kind and professional. Getting management to get them out here is like pulling teeth. We requested a piece of furniture be removed and it was “absolutely no problem!!” The work order was placed and marked completed though the furniture was still there when I moved out regardless of how many times I called - almost a full year later. They insisted we only allow our visitors to park in visitor spots but very few are provided. More often, abandoned cars are allowed to take up visitor spots and are not removed. They will tow your visitors if they park anywhere else and you will pay insane fees to get their car back and the price varies depending on who you ask and is subject to change after they get the required CASH ONLY payment...Cars in the visitor spots get broken into frequently. There is very often broken glass scattered around the parking lot.The trash from residents is often all over the stairs and walkways and is not dealt with. There were often animal bones on my walkway along with whatever take out boxes and garbage bags are thrown down. The dumpster was almost always overflowing if the trash even makes it that far. Trash bags are used to hold the gates open. The gates that you MUST fob into had been broken since I moved in three years ago.The internet is not good enough. I couldn’t check my email on WiFi if someone is watching Netflix. My bedroom got NO WiFi at all. The Ethernet ports in the walls don’t work. The neighbors will play loud music at all hours of night and day and no matter how often you complain, it won’t stop. There will be neighbors screaming at each other in the walkways and parking lot. They will even allow parties during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. I called one night in June, as we were reaching new records of COVID-19 cases, and no one came to break the party up.“Management” will come into your apartment whenever they’d like. Usually without warning. I had SEVERAL people come into my apartment at 9 pm on a weekend night. They left very promptly when I entered the common area where they were lingering. They will do “random” inspections without telling you they are coming.Your packages will be delivered to the front office because the mail people refuse to use our mailboxes. The office will tell you not to come ask for it until you get the email but they won’t email you for several days, if at all.A few weeks before I moved out, a person shot himself in the head and left blood and brain matter on my bedroom window. No one contacted me after. On move out day, I was stolen from and then verbally assaulted and threatened. I went to the office and was told I was being petty and was asked to leave. After moving out, the fake charges started again. We had to get in contact with the VICE PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY to hear back from the manager there. She then lied and made up even more charges before we could come to a half agreement. I paid hundred of dollars just to never have to deal with these people again.

As a over protective parent, I was a bit hesitant in my daughters insistence on moving here. I preferred her to stay on campus. A year later, I can honestly say that these apartments are not bad. Sometimes I would visit the apartments randomly day/night and never I saw or heard anything that would be concerning (in my opinion). The apartments are nice and well spaced out. Nice furniture as well. Security on site is a plus! The complex did have a issue with over flowing trash that I personally witnessed on occasions, but it was quickly resolved. The surrounding neighborhood is far from perfect and I worried non-stop about her safety going to campus. The so called shuttle bus was AND STILL IS a joke! The office staff was a hit or miss. I personally liked Jennifer because she was personal and very professional. She made the sale! There was one other staff lady who was rude as hell when my daughter lost her key. Overall, these apartments are a good value, nicely furnished and spacious.

If i could give this place zero stars, I would. Ive lived here for two years and have had issues ever since moving in. It started out with some roommates who were less than clean. I had to raise hell for the previous manager to do something about it and get me transferred. In the past, maintenance has knocked once and entered my apartment, not giving me any time to get to the door. Each time I report something to the office, there is always an excuse for the problem. Upon moving to the unit that I stay in now, Ive had a leak in the bathroom ceiling. At a time, I had multiple things that needed to be fixed in the apartment and was told I had to put in a service request online for each issue, even though the website was down at the time making it impossible for me to do that. They pressure wash the building at the worst times of day. Some of the gates to enter apartments are always broken. There is one trash compact on the property which is a lot for residents who dont stay close to it. It gets full very often, resulting in trash on the ground. The elevator in building 2 is frequently broken, which will cause a major issue if youre on the fourth floor, like me. Security is trash. They might as well fire them. They come once or twice a week seems like, Allied Security. There is no actual gate to get onto the property (which Ive suggested to them in the past) which is a HUGE problem with frequent break ins. My car has been broken into twice, two different vehicles. I was told to file a police report, bring it to them so that they could put it in their system, and that was it. Something more definitely should have been done being that this is the second time this has occurred. THIS IS PROBABLY THE BIGGEST PROBLEM HERE. I know several individuals who have had vehicle burglaries to their property here. Most of us fear parking here on a daily basis. Following the second time my car was broken into (that same night), I heard a least 5 gunshots outside of the apartment. (I was standing outside at the time, loading my car to leave) I literally might as well stay in the projects, neighborhood wise. You never really know how much youll pay for electricity, not even a range. Its ALWAYS different.Their rates are too high for the stuff that you have to deal with here.If you want maintenance walking in on you, water falling on your head or soaking feet due to pressure washing, car beak ins, to hear gunshots at night, inconsistent bills, new managers often, and excuses after excuses for the issues that you have, live here. :)If anyone asks me how I feel about living here, I tell them the above.

I’d like to start off by saying that I am not one to write bad reviews, or any reviews for that matter. However, the way I have been treated on top of the many bad experiences I’ve had at this place has made me feel obligated to share my experiences so that you can avoid this scam at all costs. Here are some of the reasons you should not live here:1. They will lie to you.Initially, before move in, I was promised by the lady who gave me a tour of the complex that every time a new tenant signs a lease, the carpet is changed and the walls are completely repaired and repainted before move in. I’m not sure if she was lying to try to get me to sign or if that really is policy and they just dropped the ball. But, when I moved in, my unit was disgusting. The carpet had not been changed as there was hair, trash, and dirt all over the carpet. The walls had holes, scuffs, and marks. There were a couple of holes that had been patched up but not painted over. The bathroom was so nasty that it was scary. I spent an entire day on my hands and knees cleaning that dump.2. It is in an unsafe area and the property is not equipped with proper security.A few months into my occupancy, I walked outside one night to get some items from my car. I was then approached by a man on a bike who proceeded to ask me for drugs and money. He continued to get closer to me until I jumped into my car and drove away (I didn’t want him to try to follow me to my unit). In that same month, another tenant backed into my vehicle leaving significant damage and drove away. When I discovered the damage, I contacted management to see if they had any security footage that I could turn into the police. I was told that there is no security cameras outside and that there was nothing they could do for me. Also, there was A SHOOTING ON THE PROPERTY while I was a tenant. This made the rest of my 7 months living here very nerve wrecking. This property needs an automatic gate and cameras outside to keep their paying tenants a little safer!3. They will try to scam you out of your money.During Christmas break, when neither me nor any of my other roommates where even in Baton Rouge, I got a call from the office saying that there was trash bags outside of my door and that they could prove it was mine because “my name was all over the trash.” I had a friend of mine go over to the apartment and take a picture of the door and the space around and there was in fact no trash bags. They were trying to scam me out of $50 per fictitious bag. Another instance is about the holes in the walls that were left there by previous tenants. Upon move out they tried to stick me with a bill for the repair of the walls. None of that damage was caused by me and I informed management about the damage multiple times during my stay. I still have not paid the bill and they are now threatening to send me to collections.Moral of the story: DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU DON’T LIKE BEING LIED TO, FEELING UNSAFE, OR SCAMMED OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

Ive lived here for 2 years now and I must say U-Edge has its ups and downs. On the positive side, the pricing is reasonable and the apartments are very spacious. It is also not that far from campus, which is pretty convenient. However, my living experience here has not been that great. First, I must say that Ive complained to the office numerous times about certain issues. They agree to fix the problem, but actually dont do anything about it. The managers dont hold up to their title, as they leave everything up to the office assistants to handle. The complex is also located in an unsafe neighborhood, as there have been robberies, shootings, and breaking into cars. It is also stated on the rules and guidelines that residents must keep their pets on a leash when outside, but residents let their dogs roam around freely. Not to mention, building two is the worst building to live in. The wifi is always down. There have been times when the power had gone out, but was still on in buildings one and three. The dumpster as well as visitor parking is also not convenient for building two residents, which they are located on the side of building one and three. Also, if you are in need of someone to take over your lease, they make you go through this process on your own. The only time they allow you to get out of your lease is when they reach full capacity, but in all honesty, that will never happen. Needless to say, living here has not been the greatest experience for me.

There were several cracks in the walls and some doors didnt close all the way. The staff were always very nice and helpful, but the elevator was broken for almost six months, which is inexcusable. The dumpster frequently overflowed, which made the parking lot smell pretty bad. There was also a period of time where they removed all visitor parking for no reason, which resulted in some of my friends being towed. It also took them several months to upgrade our cable boxes, so we were without TV for a while, which sucked. The neighborhood isnt very safe, but it is close to campus which is convenient. First off ill start by saying the elevator was broken for about 8 months and I lived on the 4th floor!. The office really didnt bother to keep us updated with the progress of the elevator. The trash is ALWAYS overflowing...like always. The gate is broken as well so the BS about safety that they tell you to get you to sign is strictly BS because anybody can walk in without a key. I understand things break but they really dont care when they do break and thats a problem for me. My washer was also broken for my last 2 months I was there and I called the office and I was told 3 different stories to get me off the phone. I dont recommend living here.

Uedge has been the best! I love the atmosphere here. If I wasnt graduating this month I would return. The events that they have in the lounge are always great!

I havent even moved in yet, but they were encouraging me to sign the lease as if I were approved. Then when I was informed me nor my garentor werent approved they told me I was responsible for paying out my entire lease for this year AND next year even though Im not able to move in and there was nothing they could do about it. Wish I would have read the reviews before I signed!!

I cant wait to move! Cars are always getting broken into, the dumpster stays overflowing, my air breaks every month, I just cant. P.S. I just read Alecs review and I swear everything that was said is definitely true.

This apartment complex was an awful place to live. The rent is relatively high for a place where you are not respected as a resident by management and are constantly worried about your safety. Our apartment was broken into twice and weve had constant issues with management and maintenance. I highly recommend you find some where else to live if youre in the market for student housing.

I have lived here for one year and I would never do it again. If youre considering living here, do yourself a favor AND LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE. Living in building two is the worst. Its not convenient when it comes to the trashcan, so people just say screw it and leave their trash on the stairs. Its ALWAYS smelly for that reason and dog waste. My AC has been broken since I moved in a year ago. Every other month I have to call to get it fixed. The thing that pisses me off the most, if the AC breaks outside of business hours (which it always seems to do), it has to be 85 degrees outside for maintenance to come. 85 degrees at NIGHT is not a common occasion. There was a time i called and they informed me that it was 84 degrees outside so they couldnt come because it was not an emergency. My apartment was 89 degrees inside and there is no physical way anyone can live comfortably in that! I pay them about 700 dollars a month and I cannot live comfortably? They do not care about the residents here, or maybe they do but they have policies in place that do not comply with actually CARING about people. Uedge is also located in a very unsafe neighborhood, I recently got contacted by a sheriff because someone in my neighborhood was arrested for murder and he wanted to see if I had any info. There are break ins into cars, robberies... I have had company and their car was broken into and everything was stolen. Uedge literally offered to pay us 5 dollars (via gift card) to leave a good comment online. Thats how you know .. Do yourself a big favor: DO NOT LIVE HERE. You could pay the same price (or less) at the Arlington or Woodlands OR ANYWHERE ELSE and have nicer amenities and better management and a WAY safer neighborhood. I wish somebody would have told me this before I signed my lease here, that is the only reason I am typing all this.

Extremely poor management and they lack communication with the residents! You have to harass the front office to get maintenance tocome out, and even when they do , they only temporarily fix the problem. They also post absurd charges to your account and won’t bother reversing the charges unless you bring it to their attention.

Seemed like a really nice apartment complex at first however be forewarned there are several issues that have yet to be fixed. First off the elevator has been broken for at least 2 months and it probably will not be getting fixed any time soon. Second, while there has been a trash dumpster placed in the parking lot there is still over flow of trash that takes days to be taken care. The pet area has been covered in trash on multiple occasions including pieces of broken bottles and other glass. Third, you must be checking on your packages because the office staff neglects notifying you that your package has arrived. Fourth, the level of communication to its residents is lacking; to be told that cox was going to come fix the TV box situation in December and still nothing has been done to take care of it. I havent had a problem with maintenance till now in which I put a work order in for a simple light bulb change in mid-December and it has yet to be taken care of. Will not be renewing my lease.

This will be my third year living at UEdge. I love everything about UEdge, but I think we need another dumpster because the trash is always overflowing. When the trash is overflowing, a bad odor lingers throughout the complex.
