Run! Don’t walk! Beds bugs, over 25 bug bites in a 4 day stay. They asked me my allergies - Gluten, even having that knowledge they still gave me regular meals. I wasn’t given meds for sleep because a mistake was made on their end. Through sleep deprivation, bed bugs, and hunger I felt nothing short of being tortured. I had severe PTSD upon leaving. During my stay my life was threatened by one of the other patients. Nothing was done about it. It was so cold, I explained I needed an extra blanket because I get pneumonia easily, one of the workers said “when you get pneumonia we’ll treat it here”. Out of the entire staff there may have been only 2 or 3 who actually cared. It’s just so sad to see that this is the type of place you are supposed to go during crisis and get better but instead I left feeling 100 times worse. If you love someone don’t send them here!!

I was Baker acted and this place was a complete nightmare, the doctor has no heart and no compassion, told me I had no right to be deppresed.This place is terrible and hostile, they didnt help us they just sat us in front of a TV for hours all day.

Ok....1. I was Baker Acted 2 to the Bartow Crisis Stabilization Unit. Both times when the dr said this is not the place for you and let me go in 24hrs one time and 18 hours the second time. I was rushed out with about an hours ride home and no transportation. First time they let me out and said my insurance was going to send someone for me but I had to hurry or i would miss them. After they let me out i could not get back in the building and my phone was dying. No ride ever showed and there was no answer from the only number i had in my phone which was the crisis line. I had to uber home over an hour away at nearly 85.00!

The lack of compassion they have for people here is unacceptable which is really sad taking into consideration that the patients that come here and loved ones that come to visit are obviously going through a tough time in their lives as it is. I am only giving it two stars because ONE employee was extremely helpful.

I have started outpatient services with Peace River Center. I have been in several facilities in and outpatient in Florida for the last 16 years. Peace River is the best experience I have ever had with a mental health provider. Everyone I have seen from crisis counselors to doctors to outpatient counselors, even the ladies at the front desk have been caring and nice, and they are genuinely helping me. I have never been treated better at any other mental health facility. I’m truly grateful for the staff and how they have embraced me to help me get stable. I absolutely love my doctor. She is wonderful. I thank goodness I have Peace River Center in my life

If you dont currently want to kill yourself, a stay here will change your mind. I was admitted here following a car accident. I had 3 broken ribs, a broken clavicle and multiple punctures and lacerations. Hospital gave me a prescription for lortab for the intense pain. They withheld my meds for the 72 hours I was incarcerated. I shouldve sued for malpractice.

Was sent here when I was around 10 years old. Still havent healed from the trauma I had experienced here.

Yall should already know this isnt a place to send someone you love. I was in the adolescent center twice and it looks like its just been getting worse year after year. They just want to bill you, no treatment whatsoever unless you consider being given drugs the best you can have.This is an awful place, I still have trauma circling around it. Send an adolescent here and I guarantee you, it will haunt them. The only thing I can say is that the people who take the blood work are definitely good people.

This facility is terrible, and thats putting it mildly. I came to Peace River in the spring of 2018 for attempting suicide. My first night I had to sleep on a mattress on the floor with a thin sheet. The next day I sat in a room ( I was in the childrens ward) with several younger children who looked very depressed. I got a disgusting breakfast of biscuits and gravy. It was cold and sloppy. Later that day we all went outside and introduced ourselves. That was the only time i went outside during my stay there, which was three days. A pipe in the wall burst later in the afternoon, and all of us started getting sick. Some kids got headaches, and others got upset stomachs. The staff members talked loudly all night. The food was awful, it was cold, and they wouldnt let us go outside.

I was made to strip in front of a black woman. It was demeaning. The doctor kept wondering why I wasnt cheerful about it. They control your lights. At night security guards would loudly talk all night. (G4 Security--unprofessional).The food was awful. Wed be watching TV and five minutes before the end of a program wed have to turn it off.It felt like prison.When I was released they gave me a bus token that had been discontinued. Fortunately the driver let me on.Rude staff.

Had to drop off a loved one for voluntary Baker act. This person was a threat due to a serious mental episode. After this person was able to talk themselves out of another hospital, I made my concerns clear to peace River. They assured me that they would not be released that easily and it would require a visit with the doctor to be approved for release. I received a phone call stating that there was an appointment and I could be a part of it so I should come down. When I arrived there to meet with my loved one and the doctor, they were they were standing there all packed and ready to go. The doctor refused to see me. They released a person who I considered a threat and then out right refused to see me or allow me to readmit them and suggested I just called the cops. They have no interest in actually helping anyone. Many of the staff members that I spoke to were very rude to me over the phone and I was willing to overlook that in hopes that they would be able to help our situation. If you can afford to go somewhere else, do it.

A professional atmosphere.

So far they can’t Even tell me the actual medication given to my son. They have given me the wrong information three times and now the computer is down so he can’t figure anything out???

This institution should’ve been shut down a long time ago.

One star is too much...food is gross, doctors are means, look like a jail, sheriff everywhere, dirty and except some people the staff dont care about you at all!!Definitely DONT recommend!!!!

If you work in social services, you should know how to deal with people.. there was no help provided, staff treats patients like inmates, staff made horrible mean comments to patients who are there bc they have mental health issues.. they forgot to check me in for an hour, they didn’t document my belongings, they didn’t care that I didn’t eatThe place is a circus

Was laughed at by some lady at the front desk as she walked in . I let it go and proceeded to ask the question, what is my wife aloud to have while in this facility such as toothbrush, deoderant etc? No answer, she didnt want to tell me anything I asked no matter how simple of a question. Then sends me on a wild goose chase for a paper that was never needed. She Was giving a hard time for whatever her reason. I Was Very disappointed and disrespected. So I confronted her about why she was being disrespectful and she continued to think the situation was funny. She Never Apologized to me. So I told her Im moving on and proceeded to ask another question about my wife. Another girl stepped in and said leave or have me trespassed. She had no place or say, but I went outside. I contacted someone for more information about this place since they are very uncooperative. The males and females are not separated. My wife said a male has walked in her room twice, and is very uncomfortable. And Im concerned not only about her safety but the safety of others.There is no need for anyone to be in any other persons room without permission, or being assigned to that room. I dont want to cause problems, I couldnt care less what this disappointing women was thinking as she laughed. I was there to drop off clothes and gather any information on my wife. It will dealt with if they do not do there job correctly and handle all types of situations accordingly and in a proper, professional manner as they should be. I Love You Sweetheart...

I’d give it no stars if I could, it was definitely a joke, no one there seemed to know what was going on, I requested my son to be transferred somewhere that took my insurance but they didn’t they were supposed to give him his meds and they didn’t they even kept him an extra day I order to evaluate an increase in meds which they never even gave him, they billed me $4400 for the stay and when I called about making payments they said what I could pay was too low and that the manager would call me back which they never did so now they sent it to collections! It was the worst experience ever! And no one there appeared to even be educated or experienced enough to do what they are supposed to do what they did was pretty much nothing at all!

This is the worse place a Mentally ill could be placed. The administration Kirk Fasshauser and Clinician Uvanni Collin are the worst. Their staff promotes violence among the patients. Im a witness to that. Dr. Sadowsky is never available always on call. My son lost all his clothes and noone is accountable. They DO NOT. Stabilize anyone. 72 hrs and not stabled but but they send them to the streets. Nurse Melody told me that if I dont come and pick up my son he will be placed in a shelter. I had to fight through Mental court so he can be readmitted and was sent to Peace River SRT where he was 45 days and NOT stable. Dr. William Sadowsky is the Worst Psychiatrist . Parents ADVOCATE for your love ones in this place. Their lives are at risk at Peace River. Call Joint Commission and ACHA to file complaints. Licenses are Not in compliance.

They bodyslammed my friend im waiting for him in the loby to get out and go home they said 15 min ive been here over an hour im watching other people get told after waiting an hour they cant do their appointment and they have to come back at another time.and just made them reschedule another appt.this place is a joke.

Its been hard trying to get my daughter in as a patient for her meds before she runs out. Were new to the lake Wales area an have had to go to a new primary doctor to get meds bc peace river appts are two months out

I called and was told they couldnt help me for 4-6 weeks what are they even there for I am in crisis here!!!

Didnt help me with my issues at all. I hope I never go their again.

A lot of abuse with patients here someone please report this place!
