Terrible store to shop, walked in and was not greeted at all. I read the reviews before I came and see why everyone else left a negative review. Terrible customer service and all the positive reviews are by the owners and their friends as the others had stated. So sad that you have to lie to make yourself look better when the truth is that you run a shady business. So sad! Glad that this is one business that won’t be getting my money. Once upon a child is better and will be going out of my way to shop there instead of the convenience.

I’ve been to this place a few times, and I’ve never had a good experience. Higher prices than OUAC & pretty terrible customer service.. The store is close to my house, so I’ve always come out of convenience.. will definitely be driving to Cordova from now on. These negative reviews are not surprising at all!

Definitely do NOT recommend. I took in a bag of stuff, they accepted a jacket, several onesies and brand new converse sneakers and I was only given $2! If you’re expecting a reasonable amount back, do not come here! The owner never smiled or greeted me acted as if I were a bother to come into the store.

The positive: this is the only place I can find clothes for my son that are reasonably priced.The negative: brought in tons of stuff for consignment including a bouncer and play mat and was only given credit of six dollars. And for whatever reason, the website says open on Mondays but in the summer there was a handwritten sign saying closed on all Mondays in June and July.

I had a substantial amount in credit at this store which the clerk delighted in denying my using today. As a small business, you rely on good customer service, and I dont know if my credit had expired or not because you did not tell me the expiration date. If you recall, the basic tenets of Christianity are about helping others, which you seemed almost giddy about not doing today. Your customer service is atrocious. But you helped me teach my kids a very valuable lesson about helping others - when you have the opportunity to help someone else, you should always do it.

The new location is brighter and feels bigger. The owner is always so friendly and helpful. I super recommend this place and it is a huge plus that by shopping here you are helping local business.

I came in with my husband , since we’re expecting a baby soon. The customer service there is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! The salesperson was standing in the front . She never spoke or greeted us or even asked could she help us. It’s sad that a customer in the store spoke to us before the associate did. I read a lot of these negative reviews, but I wanted to see for myself , because I realize sometimes people overreact. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT ON THEIR REVIEWS!!!!!! We felt so unwanted that we left the store...Paying Customers please take your business elsewhere......

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I expected the store to text me to let me know that my items had been reviewed like they had done on prior visits. However when I dropped off the store was jam packed fill of drop offs. I waited a couple days for their texts and when I called them they told me that all of my items had been “donated” to the store. I had specifically checked on my form “Do not donate”. I asked if I could at least pick up my plastic bin and their response was “no, we don’t keep those.” This place basically ripped me off for their gain and I hope they go out of business for stealing.If you are desperate enough to use them you have to go back by 6 pm the next day or they steal your stuff from you. Don’t expect a courtesy call at all.

Nice place to pick up a variety of items for the little ones. The racks are a bit too overloaded and the general appearance of the store is disorganized. While I like the variety I had to hunt for what I wanted and the clerk showed no interest in assisting me. Price wise: could be better

I have been shopping at Summer Kids for years. I get pretty good quality clothes for less than new. Last week, I decided to bring in a box of my girls too small clothes so I can get store credit and get them a few clothes that fit.I dropped off the box of clothes on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon I got a text saying that my offer was ready and I had 3 days to accept the offer. Now, in my mind, 3 days is equal to 72 hours. 72 hours from Thursday afternoon is Sunday afternoon. Summer Kids is closed on Sundays so I went into the store Monday to accept the offer and pick out a few winter clothes for my girls with the bit of store credit.When I got to the store they told me my clothes were no longer there for me to pick up. I told them that I was not late in picking up my items unless Sunday is counted as one of the days and the worker told me it shouldnt be and assured me I would get a phone call from the owner the next day to resolve my issue.I waited all day Tuesday for my phone call but I never received one. Tuesday evening, I messaged the owner on Facebook and said I had been assured that I would receive a phone call today and I would appreciate it if someone would call me so we can resolve this issue. She messaged me back telling me that she had been trying to call me all day but got a busy signal each time. This is a blatant lie! First of all, I had not once made a call or received a call on my cell phone all day so there was not one moment that my phone could have been busy. Second of all, if I had happened to have been talking on my phone, it would have notified me that I was receiving another phone call and not given a busy signal.I called the owner immediately after receiving her message and, after explaining my problem, she not once apologized nor did she offer a solution to my problem, even after telling me that 72 hours sounded logical but its not how they do things. So, 3 days at Summer Kids does not really mean 3 days. It means more like 1 or 2 days and a few hours. I feel taken advantage of. I feel like the owner stole my clothes and is now selling them with not even a hint of an apology for it.

Be aware- most of the positive reviews are by the owner’s friends AND the owner and her husband (Deborah Mitchell and Matt Mitchell) - both pose as customers in the review 🤦‍♀️ Very unethical business practices and poor customer service. They blame customers for their faults and take their items and never pay them for them. Do not go here!

If i could leave a 0 I most definitely would... This happened yesterday. I just copied from my Facebook page. Just left #SummerKids store address 2831 Bartlett, TN looking for maternity wear. It’s a small store.. walked in and was not greeted by the two employees... so being that I was raised right, I spoke to them.. Then I go about my shopping business...problem is.. EVERY other customer that walked in AFTER me was happily greeted upon entering and told have a good day upon their exit... now at this point I had selected several items to purchase... I politely put them back and proceeded to leave the store without a have a nice day from the same employees who so happily greeted EVERYONE else that came in... You can call it the race card if you want but the only difference between me and the employees and other customers is that I’m black... guess what??? My money is still green though and I will spend it where it is wanted...Don’t shop @Summer Kids...😡😡😡😡

Great place to sell your kids clothes, and buy name brands at affordable prices. I took a couple of totes of my kids old clothes in and got credit to buy what I needed. My daughter loves all the bows. Will be back soon!

RUN to Once Upon a Child, before even thinking about stepping into this store to buy or sell. If I could give this place zero stars or negative, I would. They lie and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the clothes they sell they got for free by lying and I am not the first person that has said this in their reviews. I had a lot of clothes my child had outgrown so I decided I wanted to sell them to a locally owned business to help a locally owned businesses . Dropped off 2 bins of clothes on a Monday. Finally received a text message after 2 days (Wednesday of that same week) after dropping off confirming that all of the clothes were reviewed and were ready for pick up. They make you sign a paper stating that they give you 48 hours to pick up but give you no copy of that paper so that you have nothing to show to them when picking up and they do this type of thing. Went to pick up the clothes less than 24 hours after receiving the text message (early on a Thursday morning)and was told they had been donated that night before. When asked where they were donated to as they donated the bins too, they did not want to provide that information. I refuse to ever buy from or sell to this place again. I will just go to Once upon a Child to buy clothes and to sell anything else I no longer need or donate the items myself because I am almost certain they did not donate all of the clothes as they said they did because a lot of the clothes were recently bought and in great condition as my child only wore them a few times. I only wish I read the reviews before going there because I am not the first person this has happened to and that says a whole lot about this place and the way it is run and how untrustworthy they are. Every step of the way there were lies. I wouldn’t be surprised if they put up the clothes to sell in their store and lied about it being donated just to try to steal. That is how deceiving they are. As far as shopping goes, I have gone and shopped there but things were unorganized and they didn’t have much of a selection of the sized clothes I was looking for. After this I wouldn’t even feel good having anything to do with them, knowing that some of the items they sell could be practically stolen from people because that is how they make it seem by doing this to so many people.

I would give none if I could. Don’t take your kids with you, if they even look in the direction of the toys the sourpuss ladies at the desk will yell at your children. We just left after that, I’ll take my money to OUAC.

I love Summer Kids! This is my favorite place to get bows, monnograms, and teacher gifts! They have the best selection of clothes and I love taking my girls clothes there once theyve outgrown them.

Went in with my three sons for the first time yesterday. Never was greeted or even looked at by the girl working. My boys headed for the baby gate with broken toys and realized they didn’t want to play with the broken toys, so headed to the toys for sale. They weren’t running or acting crazy, just curious, normal kids wanting to look at toys, because THEY ARE CHILDREN. The first words from the associate since we entered the store was ‘uh, don’t play with those toys!’I calmly told my sons, ‘let’s go guys.’ And left.After reading reviews, I cannot believe this place is still in business!And how shady you cannot leave a Facebook review!If you’re going to have a KID STORE, expect KIDS to come in and LOOK/ TOUCH your TOYS you have for SALE.

Summer Kids has excellent clothes at excellent deals! Friendly staff & great selections in sizes from Newborn to big kids & even juniors. Great maternity clothes too! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

If I could rate a ZERO, I absolutely would. I held back this review for a month or so because I had high hopes for a local small business but it’s been brought to my attention that MANY others have had the same exact issues. This store has great potential, as It is located in the heart of Bartlett, but the poor management will cause complete failure.When you sell to this business they make you sign a contract (as any other consignment store does) and then they verbally tell you that your items will be reviewed twice then you will be notified when you are able to pick up. As two days passed with no calls or texts, I take It upon myself to call - seeing as my mother had a horrible previous experience where her items were considered “abandoned” after never recieving a call/text either. The woman who answered the phone was not friendly whatsoever as she tells me that my items have been ready for a day already and when I let her know I never recieved any notification she assured me that the issue was on my end, not theirs. So, I furiously go in to pick up the items they chose not to buy & the same lady I spoke on the phone with happened to be the owner. I explain why I am irritated and how I feel that she needs to make sure this issue isn’t happening to others, she AGAIN assures me that not receiving the text was a failure on my end and not hers. At this point I made It well aware that I would make sure no one I associate with gives her any further business.I am choosing to put this information on a public form to warn people of this business. You are MUCH better off selling to Once Upon a Child/Plato’s.

Awful place I went yesterday for the first time, I was really excited about trying them out. The lady who is pregnant, didnt even speak to me when I entered the building. I was looking around and heard from the front they are all in order by sizes. I walked around for about 3 more minutes and felt so unwelcomed she was going about her business as if I wasnt in the store. I have never been in a place where I could honestly feel they did not want my money. I wished I had read previous reviews before I went to them. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. I am awaiting your closing cause you cant possibly stay in business long with this type of mindset

When a business such as this one does not allow reviews on their Facebook page it is because there is something shady going on. If you are doing the right thing then you will show reviews. A good business DOES NOT run a private, closed Facebook page except to CONTROL CONTENT. Thankfully, they are not allowed to CONTROL all review pages and the truth is out there. Do not sell nor buy clothes or anything from them. They will take your items, never send said text and keep all of your items and you will receive no money. They then take these free to them items and resell them for 100% profit. We need to band together and demand that this business is investigated.

I dropped off a large box of all brand new boutique items, on Tuesday 3/26, signed their contract as I listened with faith & trust to the owner tell me “you can come back tomorrow for your offer” I returned a little more than 24 hours later on Wednesday 3/27, she has my things in a basket on the shelf behind her and says “oh, you have to wait for the text”, I smile and thank her and stupidly left. I waited the remainder of the week without having received a text and returned to her store on Monday, 4/1 to check on things. There were other customers so I browsed and shopped while waiting to speak with her. As I was browsing I saw several of my items sitting on the shelves for sale.When I went to the register to ask about my offer she pulled my contract and offered me $25 cash or $31 credit for well over $400 worth of brand new boutique car seat covers, nursing covers, gowns, mobi wrap, Sophie the giraffe teethers, etc. when I asked for my things back rather than accepting the ridiculous offer, I was told that I couldn’t have them BC I had waited too long and per the contract I had agreed to this. She claims to have sent me a text, which low and behold, I never received, she blames it on spam filters or settings on my phone. Funny how I receive everything else, but not their text. This store is operating on a scam mentality and I hope that she goes out of business for poor business practices. I repeatedly asked for my items back and told her they were sitting all around the store and that I had pictures of everything that I had dropped off. I was then asked to leave the store before she called the police. This is the worst excuse for customer service. She is staying in business by operating like a donation center and receiving her products at no cost. As I was asked to leave of course no money was handed to me.

This is a red flag!**If I could give this store ZERO stars, I would.Extremely unprofessional, rude, and dishonest. Owner wont return clothes not accepted, but instead donate them (but conveniently wont have a receipt or know where they were dropped off because someone else did). Shell claim to have called you or texted you, but couldnt get through which is a flat out lie. When she does accept items, shell give a low ball offer for items that are worth much more.

If I could give zero stars, I would! I never recieved a text stating that my offer was ready. I called 3 days later to check the status and was told a text was sent on same day that clothes were dropped off, I told her that I didnt receive said text, and that I would be there on the next day, she said okay. Thursday when I arrived I was offered $12 cash or $15 credit. I told her to let me look around and while looking I saw at least 10 of my sons items already on the rack. I decided to just check out and leave at which time she informed me that my tub full of big boys Abercrombie and polo items had been donated bc I abandoned them! My daughter and another friend had the same experience as far as not receiving a text message, seems like a racket to me! Dont shop or sale here!!!

This is the worst consignment store that I have ever dealt with,my husband took our grandson clothes out there on Thursday July 27th,we went back out there on the very next day,Friday July 28th,he was told that they didnt have a chance to go through his clothes.According to the receipt that was given to him on today,there were two attempts to call his cell phone which is a lie per my cell phone records.the third attempt to contact him,which they say was by text message which is another lie,they said a KF. Called on the 28th,lie per my cell phone records, a HG called on the 29th, liar,then on 07/31 they claimed to have texted him per HG.Per someones comments the number was out of service/non working, another lie.They took his clothes and his money, claimed they were donated.I wouldnt recommend this store to my worst enemy.
