Wait on hold for over 2.5 hours just to end up getting hung up on. Went to speak to someone in person, have been waiting for 45 minutes. Not only that but called back and have been on hold for over 45 minutes and counting. All because I need to report a change and get proof it was reported (probably a five minute conversation at most). What a complete joke of an agency.

I had to turn in some paperwork for my yearly review. I was surprised to see only one other person there.I was waited on promptly.The secretary was extremely nice and helpful.

Is very neat and clean and everybody was still wearing mass and when you went up to the window everyone was very nice I think the new Switch moving DHHS was the best thing of all

They are very ingoant when it comes to receiving info on children & not follow up w/several complaints. Foster care is horrible.

Very helpful personnel, fast and accurate service, we receive what we need in less than 15 minutes and we dont wait more than 4 minutes seated on the waiting area to be called.

Wait time was a lil bit but everyone was nice once we got in to our appointment it went fast tho just a lil bit of a wait befor hand

I couldnt believe the short wait time to be seen and all the employees I spoke to were actually really pleasant. They were also right on top of disinfectant of the chairs people sat in.

As long as you have an appointment youre in and out pretty quickly. I cant complain fully, however.. to make me travel an hour for a 15 min appointment that couldve been done over the phone and information I already submitted via email and didnt have to bring in physically, Was a bit ridiculous but glad it didnt take hours!

We support each and every one of you. We have seen first hand the passion and dedication of this department that can only be successful because of the people that work here. Keep fighting and keep up the good work.

Department of health and human services otger known as dhhs well this has been a long time coming but i will say this place has helped me put more then once so you need a new maimcare card they can ya out with it you need family services theyll help you out food stamps same thing theyll help you out theyll do what they can within the confined limits that they have they what they can with what they have been given

Had a great experience, tho it is a federal building, everyone seemed to want to help me find a job and I got my license back, so it cant be all bad ya know lol

My first experience at DHS. Nice building easy parking. I went to assist someone with and elder abuse claim and the social worker was kind, considerate, and very professional. A nice surprise!

Nasty people horrible service

I waited 2.5 hours in the waiting room while everybody decided to take lunch together. I went up and complained hence how I know everyone took lunch together and a supervisor had to get involved. They went from empty to full in those 2.5hrs. Then once I was seen by worker I didnt even get the answers I needed very frustrating. I have only even spoken with 1 nice DHHS person that was nice and that was over the damn phone.

When you go, its ok. When you try to call its ok.

I ended up pregnant January 2019, I started to receive maine care. Yet got kicked off in march for over a month. Than was told they couldnt do anything cause they accidentally made me two different accounts. I just had my baby in August, yet now cant afford my medicine cause they kicked me off again... Letter they sent says due to pregnancyYou wont have maine care. I was told that was untrue, yet now have no health insurance. Having mainecare has been the biggest stress ever. They are now telling me their system has updates an thats why I was kicked off in march and now.... So here I sit for the last hour.

Very rude 😠 I know there all overworked. Still know excuse to treat people that way. If they cant handle the work load GET A DIFFERENT JOB. LEARN HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH RESPECT KNOW MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

I’m going through a tough time right now so I called to ask some questions and after I was done speaking, the person made a grunting noise like they were annoyed with me and then just transferred me to an automated voice message that explained how to apply for benefits online and then disconnected, I feel pretty offended. I just wanted to know what my options were…I can’t believe how incredibly rude that person just was to me! Reading other reviews on here I can see that the Bangor DHHS is just filled with rude employees.

A place for low-life scum and soul sucking individuals to rob, cheat, and steal your very life essence and money. A disgusting scent pierces the air when entering and one can feel their very pride and values escaping them. No amount of excuses can bring you back from hell once youve entered it. Stay away. Work hard and avoid this pit of evil.

The work they do and the benefits get the stars. Do NOT think that you can call the phone line during your lunch break. The phone line is extremely messed up and you basically wait in line on the phone. Waited 30 minutes listening to the bad rock Jazz before I tried calling again only to find myself in the Unable to accept additional calls category. This phone system needs a major overhaul. I didnt want to do this online but I guess I have to now. God forbid you dont have the means to access the internet or get to the office.Update: I have tried for an hour and a half to just get back on hold. I was told by an operator that its the only phone line and then they put me through without even troubleshooting another way. I have 15 days to appeal and that letter took its sweet time getting here, now I have 2 days. This is not even remotely ok to have to wait 2 hours just to get back on hold and in the phone waiting line.Update: calling this morning at 9:30 and they still have extremely high call volumes... at least Im on hold. Yesterday I waited and called again and due to inclement weather conditions our office is closed. Today is the last day that I can appeal this.

Service was limited if existent at all. Great lengths have been taken to create the most miserable possible setup. There us a restroom which is perhaps the most functional part of the entire facility.

They start seeing people when they open at 8am

I have been treated very rude by some of the workers at DHS in Bangor. Like I was beneth them. For being a single parent there in the service profession and should treat everyone who come in the respect an kindness.

Not a bad place to go just dont call the number because you will be on there all day.

I think their need to work together and treat people better and do their work right. And not put your information that you send doesnt get send to,the drop of the woark it is people lifes.

The ladys at the Bangor office are extremely nice and helpful. Hell the person was so rude and ignorant right before me n so I assumed than when it was my turn she was gunna be on a nasty mood when I got there but naw she was actual pretty cool and sweet helped us get our stuff set up without having to miss work to wait. Thank you ladys its alot different where Im from where the people dont even try n help n almost always have attitudes..

Always a painfully long wait. They dont seem to have a good system in place when helping people. We come in and get a number but then people are served out of order which makes people very upset

Extremely rude almost to the point of being hateful. Constantly interrupting, I was not able to fully explain the issue I was having because I was mostly not allowed to finish a sentence. Both the person at the front desk and the worker I spoke with behaved as though I was somehow imposing on them. Awful, disrespectful, and beyond unprofessional. The Rockland office is much better

I went in to get varifcation of Food Stamps,long wate to start then once I was seen they couldnt give me what I needed! They wanted to talk to me about child support instead of what I needed! Very unprofessional!
