I wish I could give this place zero stars. Total trash and would never ever recommend. I went to Mandala Center for years and saw two different P.A.s. I actually saw Dr. Smith one time when I first went started going there years ago. Never seen him since. I wouldnt have kept going but it was the most convenient place that took my insurance. I have been on a medication consistently for over 15 years and have not once abused it. I recently had an appointment with a PA and went to pick up my medication at the pharmacy. Upon arrival to the pharmacy, I was told the PA would NOT allow me fill the prescription until I had completed the entire current 30 day prescription. I counted out my medication and realized I was two pills short of the 30 day period. I called and explained my situation to Becky who answers the phone for Mandala. She explains to me that the DEA guidelines will not allow for a PA to place an order two days earlier. I asked what I should do for the two days that I did not have medication. Her answer was that I should call 911 if I start to have withdraws! I asked if I could speak to my PA. She said I would have to schedule another appointment aka pay more money when I had literally just had an appointment the day before. Needless to say, I have chosen to go with another mental health provider in Baltimore. When I met with my new psychiatrist, I was informed that what I had been told about DEA guidelines were lies and that was just something Mandala practice enforces on their clients. I rarely spend time writing reviews for places but this place caused so much unnecessary harm to me that I am going to do everything in my power to make sure this never happens to anyone else. I have already filed a complaint with Carefirst regarding Mandala and am looking at other legal avenues to make sure they never receive a dime of money and go out of business.

Dr. Jordan is great but the receptionist sucks!!! They CHOOSE to pick your next appointment 20 days out instead of 30 days when your medication can be refilled witch makes NO SENSE to me at all. I can no understanding why they would rather have a patient wait when certain hardships can happen and more medication may be needed more for that day to get through that day leaving the patient to be without. It’s negligent

I have been going here over three years. I love the care my therapist gives me and my PA. They have never forced medicine on me and have been beyond patient.

The receptionists think they are your doctors and yeah good luck talking to your doctor. You’ll die first.

When turning away a new patient they don’t say “I’m sorry but we can’t treat you.” They simply say “We can’t treat you.” Which hurts. They also don’t offer alternative options, like other places or doctors to call. Mind you, this is after filling out a 20+ page stack of forms & “accepting” you into their patient portal. The reason I was declined could’ve been mentioned in the first phone call. When working with mentally fragile people, you as a company should take more care into how you treat your possible clients. I’m left with no alternatives & a sense of abandonment after speaking with Becky.

I like my doctor but good luck trying to make an appointment. Ive been trying to call them for weeks and no one picks up.

I waited a month and a half to get an appointment here, waiting with no therapy counting the days to my appointment. I am called today and told that the doctor will not be in on the day of my appointment and that I have to reschedule-and the soonest is today. So I head over, and there is construction all along Greenmount which I did not expect, but I am sure the staff was aware! I called to let them know and was not granted any understanding. I was 6 minutes late when I called a second time to say I was about to turn in and I could see the establishment, and was told He is not going to see you. With my therapy needing self I just hung up before I went crazy on this lady! This place is horribly unprofessional, and has stressed me to the point I now have a headache. Sheppard Pratt has an outpatient program for therapy. I called in the Mandalas parking lot. They take most health insurance and will see me this Friday. Please try them before this horrible place! Sheppard Pratt will actually help you and fast!

This rating is for Jim. If/when he leaves Mandala Center, I will go wherever hes moved to for treatment. Unless he moves to Australia. That would be totally inconvenient.

This is a great place to come and get help. The atmosphere is calm, the music is relaxing and the approach to therapy doesnt feel forced. My doctor I see here has always been patient with me and even answered her phone to help me on non appointment days, thats true patient loyalty.

Look closely at the the negative reviews. 100% true. I have a problem with the fact that these doctors are OK with you going WITHOUT YOUR MEDICATIONS. You can’t get unlimited refills. if you can’t make your appt...AUTOMATIC $50 fee. Even if it was a small mix up with the appt times 50$ FEE !! I had scheduled an appt...a few hours later i got a confirmation text asking if i could still make my appt, but it was for a TOTALLY different time. I brought it up to the receptionist’ attention and she got smart with me, she said that my original time was unavailable and she didn’t know what happened...like “oh well”. These people are careless. Especially those who work the front desk. It’s sad

I love this place! the staff is very friendly and they know what they are doing. The location is very nice and they provide a lot of helpful services so that you never run out of options. Keep up the good work!

So I do like the doctor I see here, but I had a therapist as well for awhile at Mandala with whom I really enjoyed my sessions. She left for maternity leave, which was no big deal and definitely not a surprise, but what WAS a surprise: when I asked after she was out several weeks when I could set up a new appointment with her again and was told she wouldnt be returning for at least a year and likely not ever. So that sucked. And it felt kind of careless to me - like Oh yeah, shes not coming back. It was the complacency that hurt the most and honestly made me a bit irked. Im in search of another good therapist again now.

Avoid this place. The appointment scheduling procedure is absurd and difficult and they really are all about the money with no regard for the well-being of their patients. I have actually rarely been able to reach anyone by phone and the bedside manner and recommendations provided for family members of the three therapists with whom I interacted were not very good.

So I had three previous appointments canceled by this place. When I cancel once because of an emergency and was late because of the bus to a second they refused to schedule me for an appointment. Does this seem fair.

Since day one I have had a hard time with this place. From scheduling, to phones issues (you can never get thru) and now medication, and turning their back on me when I was in extreme turmoil. After about 2 months (if that)of therapy my therapist tells me shes leaving. Like what? And now this last event i wont get into All the details but i experienced a traumatic event and the place that is supposed to listen and help people work through things completely turned their back on me. I am and was crushed. I wont say do not go there however, Im starting to reflect and I wouldnt be surprised if this was just another place that is only in it for the money. THE choice is yours.

Dr Smith and his team are excellent. My symptoms and mental health is improved dramaticly...i recommend them to everyone

Life changing!!!

If I could give NO STARS I would. My psychiatrist was mean and would not prescribe me my much needed meds until my urine screen came back like I was a drug addict like I came into her office nodding off or something. I went without my meds for 10 days!!! I would NOT recommend this place to no one.

I am not one to ever complain or write a bad review. However what this place did is so unacceptable I was in shock. I have Complex PTSD which makes it hard for me to reach out or even leave my home for anything. I had a New Patient Appt set with the psychiatrist at 2:45. Already in full panic mode due to not knowing where I was going and I was running 4 minutes late I called the office repeatedly to explain I was right outside the time was 2:49. I get in the office and have to stand in line while both receptionist were on the phone a gentleman in front of me and no sign in sheet. I made sure they seen me however I stood there for a good 10 minutes. Once checked it in I signed the paperwork in 45 seconds (no kidding). The time now was 3:12. At 3:30 I asked to use the restroom and when I came back they stated I WAS EXTREMELY LATE AND HAD TO RESCHEDULE. I almost lost it I waited 3 weeks for this appt and drove over an hour away. To top it off a therepist came up and had an email from a patient and told the receptionist and I quote I talked to her today act like I never seen this. So this is how they treat patients. I would highly recommend is you are suffering from severe trauma or mental illness please do not go to this enter the give 0 about you

They Happily create drug addicts. They talk to you for 5 minutes and are happy to overwrite dangerous prescriptions especially if you are already an addict.
