My boyfriend and I came to the shop to inquire about bikes and nutrition. We were met with an extremely friendly and patient staff member who gave us answers to ALL of our questions. Its one thing to have a nice shop, its another to have quality staff. Here youve got both!

We are in a pandemic expected to wait days for my flat to be repaired...not quite! Joe’s turned it around in about 4 hours. I was so surprised and pleased. Had been preparing myself to take a three mile daily walk for the next couple of days. No need, my wheels are back. Will try to stay out of the glass going forward!

Stopped into Joes on Broadway and was meet with distrust and aggressive. Went instead to balt bike wks and was greeted with professionalism and respect. They are my new go to bike shop even though bike will be in shop for 2 wks.Do better joe.

Went in for a tube change and they had my bike in and out within 24hrs. Considering that these are COVID times, that was a very fast turn around. Definitely coming back for future bike maintenance.

I didnt even get to go inside the shop. But I brought my e-bike to them today and had a few questions about my braking system. they will take time out of their busy schedule and answer any questions that you have. They will definitely get my business if I am in the market for another bike or parts.

Ugh, I hate giving bad reviews... especially to bike shops. Joes replaces my cassette with a different ratio without telling me and now I’m stuck without the lowest gear. I called to explain and they told me to pound sand.

It was terrible. I dropped my bike off for them to check a few things. He said id its not a guick fix well call you. Well i waited almost 4 hrs with no call. Then he tells me that they wont get to it for about a wk. Why would i wait around for almost 4 hrs for him to tell me that later on.I live in W. Balt. The bike is my only transportation. They waisted 4 hrs of my time. The only reson im leaving a star is becouse it wont let me post without a rating.

I ride my bike to work each day and I was so relieved to be able to stop by Joes when I heard crunching coming from my bike--yikes! The staff knew exactly what it was--I left it there and picked it up hours later! Amazing customer service and reasonably priced. Its so nice to have a bike shop in the city!

Today I tried to make a purchase for the last time.... I called joes bike shop in fells this morning about getting a bike seat cushion. I was told the computers were down so I’d have to call back later to make the purchase. No problem.I called later and spoke to someone and they told me the computers were back up and that I could come by to make a purchase just make sure to come before 6PM. I get here at 5:50PM and someone opens the door for me. I told them that I had just called and that I was picking up a seat cushion. The guy proceeded to complain to me and said, “ so you’re gonna make me work till the last minute?” I told him the computers were down earlier in the day when I was ready to make my purchase.I was embarrassed, I just got off the phone with someone from joes and walked there from my house on Fleet Street. I just wanted a bike seat cushion and I didn’t want to order it from Amazon. I told him it was ok and that I would no longer be shopping at joes bike shop. I have shopped at Joes for awhile.

Awesome staff and beautiful store/location, located right on Broadway next to Maxs. Joe and Jeff stayed open for me during the snow storm to fix my spin bike. Couldnt have had a better experience! Thanks guys!

They where not very helpful i was trying to use there service but he act like he didnt want to help me and he try to accuse another customer for stealing because he was young and black smh everybody money is green Joes and even though i had a department store i repeatedly said to him i really want to fix this knowing my bike will commute me to work everyday. Instead of him trying to service what i ask for hes trying to sell a bike or no service is what i felt from them. I believe he was being a racist fat boy

Dropped it off Saturday and they had it back to me by Tuesday even with how swamped they are. Went above and beyond in the little details.

There is no other bike shop for me! they have completed up to 50 builds for me price! location! craftsmanship! friendship!! enough said!!

Searching for bike stores in the Fells Point area, I found Joe’s Bike Shop. I went by this afternoon (7/8) and the front door was locked (due to Covid-19)- - so I waited on the associate to unlock the door. I asked if it was possible to look at the bikes they had in the store. I was advised they have sold the majority of their bikes AND they probably do not have what I am looking for. I DID NOT advise what I was looking for! He then said they have sold out of all of their $500/$600 bikes and they currently only have $2000 and up bikes. I NEVER gave him a price point. Had he asked and not profiled me he would have found out I was planning to spend upward of $2000 on a road bike. I am NO LONGER interested in doing business with Joe’s Bike Shop after that one sided conversation.

Great place. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, and a variety of products in differing price ranges. Replaced several parts on a very inexpensive bike and did not cost me an arm and a leg. It was more expensive than just ordering the parts online but Id rather have someone who knows what they are doing order the parts I need and show me how to fix everything when the parts come in. Very pleased with my purchase and the service here

The crew at Joes Bike Shop have been able equip each and every member of my family with just the right bike and equipment. I didnt have to spend a lot to get 3 very nice bikes for me and my family. They are helpful and generous.

This place was so helpful in getting me the bike I wanted. I drove from DC because they have great selection. They have a large selection of Surly bikes, which is what I was looking for. I rode 3 different Stragglers, a Salsa Vaya, and an All City. It took hours, and Joe didnt get tired of setting up the bikes for my test rides. I ended up buying a frame and parts to build the bike myself. Top notch service.

TOTALLY Underwhelmed! Im not a gear-head super cyclist, I need real help to be safe. I expected great service from this reportedly friendly place but didnt get what I hoped for in a small neighborhood bike shop. For example, I bought a frame mounted tire pump that I had them mount. I didnt get the written instructions (that I presume were in the box) when I got it back but never thought it would be a problem. First ride I needed to use it and found it had the wrong valve adaptor. I played with it on the trail but couldnt figure it out. I took it back and they said, Oh, yeah, you have to reverse this barely visible black thing.... It wasnt hard, but it sure wasnt intuitive or obvious.A place that provided great service would have noticed that the bike pump they sold and installed didnt match the valves on the tires and would have made that little adjustment before I got it back, and maybe they would have said, hey, its reversible, just flip this little thing around.So then, I bring the flat back to them, and say, I think this is a little weird and they first say, no, its totally normal. Then I see the big hole and I say, hey isnt that a little weird since I was biking on a pretty benign surface and they say no. And finally he takes off the band and says Oh, your tire spokes are welded badly and they wore through... So wouldnt you check the other tire/wheel that was made by the same company and been in the same conditions for the same amount of time to see if the same problem was about to happen there? See, that would have been great service.

Took my bike there to get lubed and tuned for the new season and get two new tubes installed. I asked for self-sealing tubes and they told me there was no such thing even though Ive used them in the past. Youve never heard of self-sealing tubes?They quoted me a price and I dropped it off. Got the bike back and they charged me less than quoted. I asked why but they didnt have an answer, but hey, Im not going to complain that much about cheaper, right?Rode my bike a mile home and the tires went flat. Took it back explaining they had just put those tubes in and they said they couldnt be responsible for popped tubes. I get that, but thought maybe they would try and make is somewhat right. Nope, charged for two more new tubes + labor.Pick up the bike again and on the way out the door I say well see how it goes this time and they say yeah, just make sure you pump up the tires. What? I squeeze the tires and theyre soft. Why are the tubes not inflated and you KNOW theyre not inflated? They were soft the first time too. I also notice the shiny new valve stems and realize they didnt replace the tubes the first time (was that why it was cheaper?).So I go to ride to the gas station a few blocks away and I see they didnt replace my valve adapter, its gone. Ride home another few hundred feet...tubes pop again.Took my bike to another shop, they changed the tubes again (third set in three days) and showed me how the last ones were improperly installed.I have to give you one star if you cant even change a bike tire.

I have been using this bike shop for about 6 years. The staff and atmosphere really sets them apart for the other shops in the area. Some shops tend to look at me skeptically due to my weight but I have always felt welcome here and the staff has been friendly and warm. Thank you guys!

Went in to see about replacing a stolen bike that cost arond $2000. Got zero service. No one said hello whatsoever. Whoever was at the sales counter was more worried about picking up small things on the floor than selling me a bike. Lookes at some nice builds toi that werent cheap. New to the area so Im also looking for a great shop. Joes wont be it. You lost a customer.

I walked into this shop for the first time today. Im an avid cyclist in my late 60s and felt very welcomed. I also enjoyed talking shop with the mechanics. Joes is clean, orderly, stocks a nice line of bikes and has a professional yet friendly no frills vibe. I had two wheels that needed truing but the shop was backed up with work. Yentz (I assume he was the manager) checked out my wheels, seemed very knowledgeable, and fit me in his schedule knowing I needed the wheels fixed for the weekend. A couple hours later I received a text to pick up my wheels. Yentz (guessing at the spelling) was not there when I arrived, but after inspecting the wheels at home, I realized he did a fantastic job truing them. I had failed to tell him that they had already been trued at another shop, but not to my satisfaction. Based on this experience Ill definitely be back. Oh, and the price was very reasonable too.

Super helpful and nice guys. Check out my bike and alignment and re-attached my brakes for free. Got a really good price on a Lazer helmet and they even gave me a free milk crate which is something Ive been looking for!

Joes is a place where you are a friend. They are the epitome of a local business. When you walk into Joes, you feel welcome, which is a big head start on 90% of other bike shops out there. Its not sterile, or corporate. Theres grease on the counter, and parts scattered around. We got a flat tire while biking downtown last weekend. We walked the bike to Joes and they fixed it right away and only charged us $15. Friendly, inexpensive and responsive.

Last week, I came in to the store to drop off my bike for a tune up, guy in the front said they couldn’t do tune up then, but to set up a time to come next week. I knew my bike didn’t need much but I wanted to make sure everything checked out before I took this for long rides. We paid 20 bucks to hold the spot which would eventually go to the final tune up cost (at that point I’m like oh jeez why is this going to cost so much already). I then ride the bike for a week every single day, roughly 3-5 miles a day, going on the same streets and bumps and everything. Take the bike to them on Friday, July 6, for them to do the tune up and they finish by the afternoon. I had a working computer on the bike, although with dead battery, that they offered to change but I declined (they wanted $10-15 to change a battery!!). I go pick up the bike and the guy just lists some things they did (brakes, tires, blah blah) and it cost me another 40 bucks. I’m no expert but after talking to friends, paying $60 total for a tune up is 2-3x what most stores charge. I ride my bike home, taking back the same streets with the same bumps and everything, and right before I get home my computer flies off my handle bar, chips my screen AND my reflector light on my front tire breaks off!Now, obviously one can say that each time a person rides these things can happen, but temporally it seems like whatever they did at Joes Bike Shop led to these breaks. I call them immediately and the same guy answers. I tell them what happened and he doesn’t apologize, doesn’t act sincere, and he doesn’t even own up to the fact that MAYBE his shop could have caused this, especially when they did in fact take the computer apart and put it back together. I asked, could it be that maybe you or someone else didn’t put it on correctly? He said, well maybe but they seem pretty straight forward to put on... I said, ya exactly!!He kept on saying, what do you want us to do? I want you to apologize and take responsibility for your actions.So, Joes bike shop is over priced, rude, and will in the end leave your bike in worse shape than when you take it in.

Very upset with what they did to my Bike. Came in the store asking if they could check my back hub and tighten it as i felt it coming loose and making strange noises. After 2 weeks of waiting for them to contact me back (gave them both my phone number and email) I called them and they told me the bike was ready. Came in to pick up the bike, paid for what i thought were the repairs and 1 mile into my ride home my rear wheel hub disintegrated leaving me on foot. Walked all the way back to the store and I told them about the problem to my surprise their answer was oh yeah, the threading in your hub is totally busted, we werent able to fix it I paid money for them to true my wheels for wheels that dont even spin. called them for a refund and they said they couldnt. Total waste of time and money. highly do NOT recommend if youre looking for professional mechanics and/or good customer care
