Avoid using. Steve, is not very ethical, nor professional. I have used many recruiters in the past and I have never paid any of them a retainer. Steve, however, requires a retainer to start a search. I made assumption that I would get good attention since Steve is basically a one man operation.However, the candidates he sent were not qualified. Then, after we modified the search in order to just fill a more entry level position, he still could not provide qualified candidates.He was basically just sending warm bodies. It became apparent that he has no pipeline of qualified salesman, nor does he have the staff, or resources, to search thoroughly for qualified candidates.After months and months, I needed to end the relationship. Steve, evidently bitter because of his failures, refuses to return the retainer.Now moving forward with legal remedies..... stay tuned.
