I called on a Monday afternoon letting them know that I needed a new starter and planned to drop the car off that evening. I was told they could probably get to it Tuesday if that was the issue. They tested my 5 month old battery and said it needed to be replaced before they could know for sure. It seemed odd that a battery so new would be a problem, but I replaced it myself anyway hoping it was the battery instead of the starter. I asked again if they thought Tuesday was reasonable and was told it shouldnt be a problem. Having not heard back by 4:30pm, I called to ask for updates. They said they werent able to get to it, but had it lined up to be taken care of first thing Wednesday. By 4pm on Wednesday, I still hadnt heard anything so I called back.The answer I received was no updates. I received a call back at 4:30 that day saying the starter tested fine and that replacing the battery fixed the problem. They charged me $50. My car wouldnt start the next day. It wouldnt even turn over, so I had to pay to get it towed to another mechanic in town. They did a full diagnostic on the car, confirmed that the starter was indeed the problem, and replaced it for $130 less than what I was quoted at JB. Chelsey was very friendly and helpful, so Im leaving two stars instead of one. This was an otherwise very frustrating, disappointing experience.

I have been using JB for ten years. I like the fact that it is a small, mom & pop operation, not some huge chain store. They have always done a good job for me.

Great guys didnt try and sell us stuff we didnt need and did a good job on what we did need. Fair price and did the job on the time he said he would.

Not too happy with the service here, as a female I feel like they take little advantages of people who dont know how to work on cars very well or general automotive knowledge. They broke a brand new tire pressure sensor on my toyota tacoma (2019) yet stated it was old and faulty, misc other things have been done to another 2 of my vehicles that ive owned, these little things will keep me from returning and trusting this mechanics so called family business.

I had my 97 Honda Accord up there twice in 3 weeks. The first time my father brought my car in, we asked them to do a full overview of the car, fixing anything that was broke or could possibly break and to also look at the timing belt and have that changed. Knowing a head of time it would be rather expensive but having just moved up here we needed a reliable car to get back and forth to our jobs. My father paid $1,900 to get the car fixed, we were told by the mechanic that fixed our car( the first time) that the timing belt did NOT need to be changed because it had previously been changed at 110,000 miles, about 2 weeks after we got it back, we broke down on our way to our anniversary dinner. We had it towed back up there and paid $60 to have it looked at(which personally I believe we shouldnt of had to pay in the first place since we had just had it up there and everything was suppose to be fixed on it properly the first time around) only to find out that the mechanic that looked at it this time quoted us another $2,000 to fix the AC compressor and REPLACE the timing belt because it had cracks in it, which I find funny because the same mechanic then told my grandmother that the timing belt didnt need to be fixed but SOMEONE( he couldnt remember who) had told him that it did so he was just going to charge us for replacing it anyway. About a week later we towed it back to our house because we just didnt have the $2,000 to replace everything on it, we had a friend of ours who is also a mechanic come over and look at it and we found that the guy from J & B auto that had just looked at our car didnt put some nuts and bolts back on our car. When we called and talked to the mechanic at J&B he said, oh yea, I didnt have time to put them back on before they had it towed back to their house - let me tell you something, he had plenty of time...what, he couldnt put the bolts back on before he pulled it out of the garage!!! All in all, they are lucky to be getting 2 stars in the first place...and I hope that the owners see this because I am not happy AT ALL with the service I received, let alone the fact that everything should of been fixed the first time and it wasnt!! What if I had taken it to another mechanic and they didnt catch the fact that the bolts were missing...I have 2 kids-that could of been very dangerous had we been driving, we are very lucky our friend caught that!!
