I have a lot of experience in watching my son in taekwondo but this place teach blocking and punching the most important in self defense.And the instructor is right in saying taekwondo is not easy to learn. You can learn all the form from white belt to black belt but street fight is different.The only thing I can suggest not to get surprise out there.

Excellent master. I have my 10 years old daughter with the master Marcelo at scottys tae kwon do, and Im so happy with the hard work and discipline, my daughter is learning discipline, self defense, confidence, respect and many other things.
