I just dropped my wife and daughter here for them to start their vacation taking a two trains from Bakersfield to eventually make it to colorado. They were excited and this station was a great place to start. Even though they had to board the train at 4:00 a.m. the station was safe, well lit, had helpful staff, and was most importantly clean.The train attendant was quite fun and made my daughter laugh as he welcomed them aboard the train and got them started on their trip.Traveling by rail is something everyone needs to try at least once. You can go far distances without having to drive, can get up from your seat, and relax or read while someone else handles the navigation.

Station is nicer than your average train station. There are vending machines for snacks and drinks, and restrooms are for travelers with tickets only. Buses conveniently ship out in all directions from here as well as a train heading north. I would recommend getting your ticket online if possible beforehand, because I almost didnt get a ticket trying to purchase one in person.

Nice little place. . . It is a good thing because if youre a train is running late the bus will wait for you.

Station is very clean and organized. They helped my mom while she traveled on the train. Very affordable.

Nice clean station with very friendly counter staff. Always enjoy taking the train which is way better than the bus and now a days pricing is better. I really wished the tracks from Stockton to Sacramento were functioning again because I really dont enjoy the transfer to the bus from there but it does allow for an extra smoke break because they only offer 1 quick one along the way.

Will be going in traveling a few trips in a few days... I pray all goes very well.

Confused about having to wait to board a train thats just sitting there waiting to be boarded. When you get off a thru way bus at 3:30 in the morning and you have to wait a half hour to board your train thats just sitting there makes no sense. I dont get it. Other than that. Nice train station. Free from homeless sleeping on the benches like the Fresno station.

Not a bad Amtrak station. Pretty good upkeep. It is surprisingly busy even with the pandemic going on.

Unlike greyhound amtrak is reliable and almost always right-on-time. The station is always clean, brightly lit and safe. Theres a library next door too and a small park.

Amtrak rocks any station anywhere I go in the country the service is great and the history of the building is just amazing especially Union Station in Los Angeles

We had one of the worst experience on this trip which is unfortunate cause we love riding the Amtrak. When we got on in stockton we had no help it was just me and my wife and I am in a wheelchair they watched her struggle with our luggage while trying to help me get on . They were so worried about leaving on time the didnt even make sure I was properly restarined in and made my wife go to the other door to get on after she moved all of our luggage by herself on the train. The train started to go and I almost fell out my wheel chair and hurt my already broken leg cause it was the only thing stopping me from falling out my wheel chair . They were not so friendly. Its disappointing cause Ive always had such a good time on the Amtrak alot of good memories.

Wouldnt travel any other way, always safe. I have never in 10 years had any problems traveling on Amtrk!!

Bakersfield has a nice train station. And they have checked baggage. And red caps. And plenty of benches to sit on while you wait for the train out front. Or if you want to wait in the station you can do that. Its a good location easy to find. Plenty of food around the area. Lots of ways to get in and out of the station. Including public transportation and shared rides. The station was clean and they were using plenty of sanitary effects.

Glad to see one for sure way to get out of Bakersfield. Lol.

Nice clean great prices. 🤑 The train is a good way to travel. You can eat, walk up and down the cars. You dont have to stop to put gas nor use the restroom. You can eat in dining car or bring your own healthy food. 😋 They have wifi and tables to do your computer work, and regular electrical plugs 120 volts. The cars are coil comfortable and they are being sanitized and everyone required to wear a mask. 😷😷Stay healthy God bless you because U R ENOUGH🥰

Wishbit wasnt on the other end of town from everything else. But that isnt really the stations fault.

I have been traveling for many Years. Bakersfield to Hanford and Hanford to Bakersfield. I even traveled to Washingtonand visited Astoria, Oregon on the train.

Restrooms need more frequent cleaning. Otherwise very happy with this choice of traveling. I only use for visiting my bf. A 2 1/2 hr trip, enjoy being able to relax and enjoy the scenery

It is always an orderly, smooth transition between bus and train transfers. I enjoy traveling to and from this destination

Vending machine doesnt work and it still charges you but bus drivers are great. One of the workers inside told me to wait inside for them to call me for my bus and due to this I almost missed my bus! Highly recommend this over Greyhound, safer area, and cleaner station. You feel more welcomed.

I have to come there to get picked up to see my kids its always nice to his people in and out all the time it gets late when I get back home and Im always feel safe inside the building

As far as Amtrak stations go this is one of the better ones Ive seen. I still think these stations should have a fast food restaurant in them along with vending machines but its clean and in a fairly good part of town rather than a slum.

Went on a 4 day trip very nice.

Its a Train Station. Its newer. Its clean. Next to the great Kern County Library, Court House, Kern County Sheriffs Downtown Main Detention Center and JPs Automotive. Also near the Antique Mile. A collection of large antique stores. Great place for collectors.

Employees are really nice and informative. Trains are always up kept with the exception of the a/c not working one time in the deli/snack room so they closed it for the duration of the ride

Make sure you know your bus number because you might be out of luck and lose your seat.

This place is a good place to go to get a train from Bakersfield to Wasco for $6 but they have this new security guy with an attitude about you waiting for your train to leave at 4:12am.
