Today is Sep 30th, 2021. Just to everyone know about this place. This’s the worse place I ever contact. They lie to me since the first moment. They pretend to take care of my son, and never did anything. My son was waiting in the coroner office just waiting to take it to bye funeral, and they never answer the coroner letter. They continue lying to me saying they don’t have any Inf. I have to call them every day to have some inf. They never call me back. I ask to talk to a manager, they never transfer me to one. They just want their commission. They don’t care about your lost. Don’t trust this place! They don’t care about nothing! My son was just waiting to someone to pick him up, and they keep lying to me!! I already suffering my son’s lost, and have to deal with this monsters… 🖤🖤🖤🖤Some sales people, cuz they’re not humans, Even the supposed mangers are the worse people there. They don’t care about nothing!!

I called Basham to get information on scheduling services for the passing of a family member.I was connected with Bonnie, he explained what they included in their prices (dove release, water the works)Like a natural sales men, he made the service sound good and that everything would be taken care of for us.It took about 3 1/2 weeks before our loved one was released from the coroners office, so we did not call with many request or concerns. However it constantly felt like when we needed to check on anything it was a game of constant phone tag between the company.Basham you need to remember that our loved ones only die once, and to this there is absolutely no DO-OVER.Basham failed miserably in providing the services that were promised.They printed the wrong dates that our loved one had passed on the flyers.They posted the wrong dates of death in the website and even had the audacity to pass the wrong fliers at the viewing!When we arrived to the viewing which was located at the Baker Street location, it was absolutely HOT! No AC working, the gentlemen stated that it was due to the building being old and that he was told no one was to be at the service until 6 pm, when we clearly informed Bonnie that the private viewing for family was to begin at 4pm.It was excuse after excuse with Basham. They only talked about how they were busy with other peoples services and planning. We were so let down by the experience, and at this same time trying to grieve the passing of our loved one.They didn’t even prepare us for what our loved one looked like 3-4 shades darker! This was just upsetting to see without communication , you would think that these things would be communicated prior.The cremation services were horrible we brought a urn along with keepsake urns and when my spouse arrived to pick up the ashes they had not transferred them to the urns that were provided , they literally came out with the regular box that’s provided!!! Again apologies after apologies without the issues being fixed.Save yourself the heartache and take your business elsewhere.You will be paying for someone else to actually do a job, and correctly at that!If Basham is overwhelmed with people passing they should have a capacity not use it as an excuse to say that is why they are failing and not getting the job done.Again our loved ones only pass once and trust me when I say that Basham does not care , you will be disappointed!

The service was awesome but of course as long as your paying for things the service will be good. We are still waiting for my grandfathers cemetery stone it’s going to be a year and every time I call they give me the run around. It’s disappointing to see my grandfather plot with no name.

Poor customer service. No compassion and no empathy for the families. Yall should not be treating hurting families the way you do.

I couldnt believe what a wonderful and amazing job Basham Funeral Care did with the ceremony for my beloved father. It was absolutely perfect and the most beautiful service i had ever been to. Thank you so much, Abraham, for going above, beyond, and totally out of your way to meet all of our expectations.. You have no idea how much it means to myself and my family. Thanks again, Abraham, for your caring, kindness, and patience during this most painful time in our lives. We couldnt have had a better experience under the circumstances.. And also a huge thank you to the staff there at Basham Funeral Care for their generous surprise gift of releasing white doves at the end of his ceremony! It was absolutely perfect! There is LITTLE miscommunication. Ah! So best customer service to comfort visitors, guests, and EVEN BETTER clients. So fabulous design for respecting people who passed away. Cannot forgive comfortable heavenly design and decoration in funeral services. VERY SUPPORTIVE. Sometimes little expensive and more likely cheap prices for funeral services. So cute and adorable workers you ever seen all your life. Fortunately memories to work with funeral director and helpers there.

First my dad past away, then a few months later, my cousin passed. Staff and Mr. Bashan was very kind, compassionate, and helpful. I feel very grateful to have had such a caring funeral home with our familys needs.

When my Dad passed away a few months ago he was living inTulare. He was put under hospice care for his last month & Basham Funeral Home was highly recommended at the time of his death.We were at a loss as what to do. but once we contacted Basham Funeral Home , Yeobani handled everything. We couldnt have done it without him. The price was very reasonable & he met all our needs. I had a lot of questions & no matter what day or what time he always answered the phone & immediately handled whatever we needed. We cant say enough about our experience with them. Thanks again for everything & we highly recommend Basham Funeral Care.

Karen was super helpful / nice and we were going to go through this funeral home. The things we needed done were quoted at around 800 but John upted the price out of nowhere and it felt very shady. His price was almost 3,000 when all we needed was the embalming and release of the body. I feel like we are getting so many different answers and it is really hurtful. Was like a salt on the wound after a loss. I would not recommend this company because the first price they give you will increase, with hidden fees.

My mom recently passed.we as a family went in confused & hurt.the staff was so professional n knowledgeable about the service they offered.Very compassionate.Every staff member in encountered was kind & patient.Me n my sisters were making changes & every need was met.My mom looked beautiful.Spencer went above n beyond for my family.Honestly i was worried could a white mortuary provide adequate care for mama.They proved this business sees no color.Because mama looked like she was sleep.I thank each and everyone of you.Praying we never need you again.But if we do..Ill be back

Lost all respect for this funeral home, my family put our trust in your hands with our loved one and you dropped the ball twice lost my father’s clothes and failed to misinform us until day of service trying to postpone our ceremony, quite a few of my family services were here and it was great, seems like business is doing good for them since this pandemic shame on Basham, will no longer be on my family’s list for future needs

If anyone can make the impossible POSSIBLE, its Yeobani Lara and the staff at BashamFuneral care. Yeobani orchestrated my mothers funeral in 2012, which went without a hitch! In 2017, he delivered the same performance for nephew without any hiccups. This year, the month of January, we lost our father.. The first place, the first person I had to contact ASAP was Yeobani again . Luckily, He was available to meet with me and do all the logistics down to the little details for a funeral to go smoothly. I cannot thank enough the whole staff. Thank you Angie , who was always available ready to help with anything that needed to be done. Of course, thats not all of them, the people working behind the scenes to make Papa look his best!If any of the staff is reading this..... from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! John Basham what a convenient business you have. I feel you took advantage of me - I was from far from the area and my sister passed away and was in shock. I had to handle everything and my brother came to help. We had her cremated which should of cost $600-700 but you charged so much more with all your sales agents and your talk of Orange County - but nobody even followed through to send me her ashes so I could have my sisters funeral - when I called your enterprise they said they hadnt been paid and would not send her ashes. I had to contact my father who was so heartbroken ( but that is what you prey on) in Oregon and he said he had paid but you were in Kansas and you did not contact your secretary. So sad you use this as a business to rely on peoples heartaches and no knowledge of how this works. My sisters pastor had green hills mortuary that would have cremated her for $600 - and you with your own crematorium so disturbing

I am beyond happy that we turned to Basham in our time of need. I worked with Kevin Lara (I think thats his last name) through the whole entire process for my uncle and I could not have been more satisfied, compared to the director we dealt with st another facility.. he was just an angel to us!!! Not only did I appreciate all the help, the calls, the patience, and the sympathy, but so did my family. My family talked about how amazing you guys were and how you guys made us comfortable during this hard time. We cant thank you guys enough for giving us the opportunity to bring my uncle home one more time and for handling everything in a timely manner and being patient with us. You guys helped us lay him to rest with ease. For that we appreciate you and recommend anyone that needs any type of services to go to you guys!! You guys rock!!

I only put one star because I had to in order to leave a review. Johns exact words were You will not get better service anywhere else. In fact that didnt feel like the case during or after our service for my family. The video was late, the director was great although unfortunately wasnt available for us during the day of our service. And John voided my husbands authentic power of attorney papers to honor falsified papers. He then addressed my husband in an unappapriote manner. I believe John is is unprofessional. Therfore I would not personally recommend anyone to that funeral home.

Unprofessional. They didnt seal my mothers urn. All they care bout is money. Rude. I wouldnt recommend them.

Initially on the first consultation things went smoothly and they were extremely nice and helpfulIt then took FIVE days to create my fatherWe had to call back numerous times and ask about his remainsFinally they have him ready an hour before the service they knew the date and time forThey forgot about his flag we had to remind themWe get home after service and realize that they didnt give us his death certificate so we have to go down there yet again to pick it upIdk if they have to much of a case load or if theyre just incompetent but needless to say if that type of service is required in the future Basham is not the place I would useLots of sorry and smiles to cover the mistakes they make

The people that work here are very caring. They dont try to over sell you things . They help make it a smooth transition everytime. The staff is compassionate and really there to help you. So grateful for their help in this painful time of grieving for our family.

I was calling around and the people there were soooo rude! They couldnt even give me prices over the phone. They had to call me back and it took all day. I ended up going somewhere else and got great service. They even tried to call me back and explain why I went somewhere else and I told them it wasnt any of their business.

We as a family had a bad experience in this place at the time of purchasing their services everything was great but the day of the service the owner of this place was rude and showed lack of consideration and flexibility over a small change our family wanted to make in the way the service was going to be directed we have to give all the credit to their friendly staff especially geovani and his brother who were extremely polite,understanding and helpful unfortunately the owner of this place who is the one making the decision is all business he needs to be more understanding and careful of the situations families are going through.

What a horrible experience. Unprofessional, uncaring and down right cruel. If I could give -100 I would. Thani was very nice. Unfortunately John Basham the owner was horrible. He made a feud between families even worse when we lost our 22 year old daughter in a tragic accident.

We had the best experience and compassionate service this week. Fortunately, our loved one had made pre-planned arrangements six years ago. We were very pleased when John Basham offered upgrades and extra service at no additional cost.He and his staff were extremely professional and caring throughout the final planning, as well as during both services at Niles Street and Bakersfield National Cemetery. They made us feel welcome and comfortable, frequently checking with us and keeping us updated.Devin Bowlds did a terrific job on our slideshow video with our music selections. Was professionally produced complete with US Air Force background and matching DVD label and case.The Chapel is large, bright, modern and tastefully decorated. Perfect for our Celebration of Life.Thank you, John Basham, Devin Bowlds and staff. We appreciate all you have done for our family.God bless you always!

I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to write a review for Bashams funeral home. This company was recommended to us by a few different people so we felt comfortable using them when my loved one passed. I had never been directly responsible for making final arrangements before so didnt really know everything that was entailed, but I had a general idea of what a funeral home does. We set an appointment with Bashams the day after my loved ones death. My family and I were already emotionally stressed and exhausted but we needed to arrange for the pickup of the remains from the hospital, etc. so we persevered. We arrive at their office at the appointed time and the place was deserted. Not a car in the parking lot and all doors locked. So we called a few of their numbers (there are several on their website) and finally found out they had given us the wrong location as they have several locations. OK, back in the car and drove some more until we got to the right place. We met with Devin, and told him that we wanted to have our loved one cremated and interred at a specific cemetery out of town after the memorial service in Bakersfield. He took down a ton of information for the death certificate. Then asked us a lot of questions about the deceased and our family. So I thought he was going to use this info to help us plan the service. He arranged for us to receive copies of the death certificate and told us when we could pick up the remains. But then he just said let us know what you decide to do about the service and burial. Hmm. I dont know what to do, thats why I need a funeral home. He did say he would call the cemetery for us and have them contact me. After a couple of weeks of not hearing from the cemetery, I called them myself and they hadnt been contacted by Bashams. As I said, at the time I didnt have a lot of experience making final arrangements, but isnt the funeral home suppose to help with this stuff? Everyone I called when I was arranging the mass, the burial, the flowers, etc, their first question was, what funeral home are you working with and why arent they arranging this for you? When I asked the church for a template to make a program for the mass and some mass cards, they said the funeral home should provide these. So I called Bashams and they werent able to provide us a template or mass cards. They didnt seem to know who we were, as they put me on hold forever to locate our file and I eventually just gave up. So, bottom line is, this doesnt appear to be a full service shop, or they are just incredibly disorganized. If you just need a cremation and death certificate they are fine, so I gave them two stars. But if you are looking for assistance planning a funeral service and or burial when you are bereaved and need help, look elsewhere.

I had a recent bad experience. Representative was acting more like a car salesman. I think he was having trouble meeting at the same time because he would leave to go check something and would come back 10-15 minutes later. I finally told family to go somewhere else. Needless to say, other local businesses were more compassionate and kind than the people at this place.

This place is never a happy place to be. For the most part they do strive to make visits as comfortable as they possibly can for each family.

Succinctly stated, this place is shambolic in their care. I lost my daughter on August 9th, as of August 28th, after a litany of phone calls, and physically presenting myself to the home, Ive still not been able to talk to a director a manager, or anyone who even remotely has access to an answer. All I get is, oh the director is not in right now, or she cant get to the phone, shell call you back. Never have I received a call back.The most outrageous aspect of it all, as a mourning father, I am having to preoccupy my time with this frivolous nonsense, but somehow I feel bad for having to pester so often.Im not asking for perfection, as a registered nurse I know a thing or two about having to overcome variables to deliver care. All Im asking is for honesty and communication.They did a great job cashing the check, but the implementation of the paid services is severely lacking.

May God continue to shine His Grace upon Basham funeral care. The personal attention , comfort and support that Yeobani provides to families means so very much. Yeobani and his brother, kevin are very professional and caring. It is wonderful to see these 2 young men provide top quality services. I highly recommend basham funeral care.

I made the mistake of contacting Basham Funeral Care to cremate my father and send his remains to his home in Phoenix. If someone dies in CA and they have a spouse, even if they are legally separated in a court of law the body belongs to the spouse. Do not give any financial information to the funeral home because they can legally take your money and do only what the spouse tells them to do. You will not be give the opportunity to cancel the transaction. Basham will not even call you to tell you the spouse has changed your contract. You will probably have to call the licensing bureau for funeral homes in CA just like I did to even find out what happened to your loved one. Stay away they CAN NOT be trusted!

We recently had my cousins funeral services at Basham Funeral Care. They were extremely helpful, pleasant and accommodating. These are tough times but they were able to walk us through and were quick to respond to any questions we had. When we mentioned that my Aunt would like services to happen as quickly as possible, they made it happen. Our loved one looked just as we remembered him. All of the staff was very professional, and we are very thankful to have found the right place to help us in our time of need.
